“Yeah, Tate. Lemme in.” She pushed past the nervous foreman, letting her full glory shine over the rest of Akuma’s office.
“Long time, no see, Old man, what have you been up to, other than building this behemoth of an arena?”
She eyed the weary foreman, who was busy eyeing her…assets. “Seriously, dude, do you want to take a picture or something? I can bend over if you think you need a better view…Can’t fault a guy for recognizing one sweet piece of ass when he sees it, can you?” Men staring was something you got used to, Tony had spent many years of her young life surrounded by male soldiers, most of whom had taken the opportunity to admire her back end during one exercise or another, she took it all as a compliment, and rarely got angry. Didn’t help that she could be a bit of a womanizer herself at times. “Good man, Tate” She flashed him a smirk, and chuckled a bit as his face flushed and he tore out of the room like the hounds of hell were on his heels.
“I was being serious..”
Her attention was drawn almost immediately to Eventide, who she had met before, if only for a few seconds, nevertheless, Tony was not one to let eye candy go to waste. “No, Tony. She is too young for you” It should have been an internal monologue, but the Soldier had a hard time keeping what few ideas she could separate from the jumble of thoughts on the inside, so they frequently needed refining, but rarely got it.
“I mean…You look familiar…Like someone I know, kind of….” Stop staring Tony, it’s impolite, and you have other things to talk about.
Tugging the elastic from her ponytail, she pointed a finger at her hair. “Sorry Boss, got rid of the mullet a long time ago, but I can’t argue with gun monkey.” And once again she was distracted by a pretty woman.
“Nice to meet you, Chrysalis...Say, you’re not that same woman who writes that gossip column for the paper, are you?” She crossed her arms over her chest. “Am I as buxom in person as I am in print?” Cue that crooked fangy grin that just screamed ‘I smile because I have no idea what’s going on’. Lifting up the edges of her shirt, she flashed them both a glance at the old tattoo’s from the days when she knew Akuma better. “Funny thing though…Mom always told me I’d never be able to get rid of them. Guess the old bat was right.”
“Next time though, Writer-Lady, get it right. Jez is the buxom one, but wench is pretty accurate...Especially when I’ve been drinking.”
Brown eyes drifted back to Akuma, there was so much pretty in the room, it was hard for her to just stand there. “Ahh, you know….Epic battles in the palace courtyard…almost getting my ass slain a few times, some bumps, some bruises, a lot of boozing, getting paid to show some of my new friends in the guard a few moves…Went back home too. Got a promotion, did some nighttime ops….got my Ranger tab finally…but technically it was a Posthumous award…C.O. still doesn’t know how to approach the fang subject with some of the boys in my unit….Typical Grunt things.” She’d been well travelled since they’d last seen each other, wandering here and there, in and out of stable and unstable portals, and somehow finding her way back the family she’d known once. “Pretty sure I can give any lost passerby directions to just about anywhere in two or three different realms now, including old Earth…I’d like to go back again, but haven’t really found my reason yet.”
“…Beer? Hell Fuckin’ Yes if it’s not that shit you used to drink”
