“Yeah, Tate. Lemme in.” She pushed past the nervous foreman, letting her full glory shine over the rest of Akuma’s office.

“Long time, no see, Old man, what have you been up to, other than building this behemoth of an arena?”

She eyed the weary foreman, who was busy eyeing her…assets. “Seriously, dude, do you want to take a picture or something? I can bend over if you think you need a better view…Can’t fault a guy for recognizing one sweet piece of ass when he sees it, can you?” Men staring was something you got used to, Tony had spent many years of her young life surrounded by male soldiers, most of whom had taken the opportunity to admire her back end during one exercise or another, she took it all as a compliment, and rarely got angry. Didn’t help that she could be a bit of a womanizer herself at times. “Good man, Tate” She flashed him a smirk, and chuckled a bit as his face flushed and he tore out of the room like the hounds of hell were on his heels.

“I was being serious..”

Her attention was drawn almost immediately to Eventide, who she had met before, if only for a few seconds, nevertheless, Tony was not one to let eye candy go to waste. “No, Tony. She is too young for you” It should have been an internal monologue, but the Soldier had a hard time keeping what few ideas she could separate from the jumble of thoughts on the inside, so they frequently needed refining, but rarely got it.
“I mean…You look familiar…Like someone I know, kind of….” Stop staring Tony, it’s impolite, and you have other things to talk about.
Tugging the elastic from her ponytail, she pointed a finger at her hair. “Sorry Boss, got rid of the mullet a long time ago, but I can’t argue with gun monkey.” And once again she was distracted by a pretty woman.

“Nice to meet you, Chrysalis...Say, you’re not that same woman who writes that gossip column for the paper, are you?” She crossed her arms over her chest. “Am I as buxom in person as I am in print?” Cue that crooked fangy grin that just screamed ‘I smile because I have no idea what’s going on’. Lifting up the edges of her shirt, she flashed them both a glance at the old tattoo’s from the days when she knew Akuma better. “Funny thing though…Mom always told me I’d never be able to get rid of them. Guess the old bat was right.”

“Next time though, Writer-Lady, get it right. Jez is the buxom one, but wench is pretty accurate...Especially when I’ve been drinking.”

Brown eyes drifted back to Akuma, there was so much pretty in the room, it was hard for her to just stand there. “Ahh, you know….Epic battles in the palace courtyard…almost getting my ass slain a few times, some bumps, some bruises, a lot of boozing, getting paid to show some of my new friends in the guard a few moves…Went back home too. Got a promotion, did some nighttime ops….got my Ranger tab finally…but technically it was a Posthumous award…C.O. still doesn’t know how to approach the fang subject with some of the boys in my unit….Typical Grunt things.” She’d been well travelled since they’d last seen each other, wandering here and there, in and out of stable and unstable portals, and somehow finding her way back the family she’d known once. “Pretty sure I can give any lost passerby directions to just about anywhere in two or three different realms now, including old Earth…I’d like to go back again, but haven’t really found my reason yet.”

“…Beer? Hell Fuckin’ Yes if it’s not that shit you used to drink”

It became more and more obvious why Daytona and he got along so well. She had a lot of characteristics that resembled his own attitude. Their sense of humor was pretty similar too. But when it came down to it, they both could be all about business. He'd asked how things had been since they split ways, and she had one hell of a recap to go through. His eyes just widened as he listened on, impressed with how much the girl had changed since they last saw one another. She'd never been a push over, which is why he wasn't overly worried about her making it on her own. He knew she'd find a way to make it, even in a world as fucked up as the ones they've been in. Though, that didn't mean things had to become -completely serious.

"I dunno, Tony. You seem pretty buxom to me. I mean--as much as ya try t'work out, ya still got quite the rack on ya. Then again I'd guess that comes with the whole vampire thing. Maybe ya could hide them or somethin? I think I got some duct tape around here somewhere."

After that the next thing he focused on was drinks. With a turn of his head and a kiss on the lips of the Angel standing next to him, he headed over to the ice chest in the far left corner. Using his foot to lift the lid he bent over and fished out 4 bottles of ice cold beer, along with ready made long island iced tea and a home made sweet wine. While he was over there, he kept talking, though his head didn't turn around, so they could've walked right out and he would have no idea.

"Hey, don't sell ya'self short. Posthumous or not, ya still got it didn't ya? You're a good soldier, hun. Ya deserve everything ya get and thensome. If I was in a fight I'd be happy t'have ya watchin' my back."

With drinks in hand and arm he walked back to the group, the long island iced tea being handed to Evie, and the sweet wine was passed to Chrysalis. Daytona was given 2 of the bottles while he kept two for himself. His thumb momentarily "crystalized" so that he could pop off the top; with the gleaming metal still spinning in the air he moved the bottle out and tapped it against Daytona's; then Chrysalis', finally Eventide's.

"Tony, I know ya just got here and all--but, I got a favor t'ask. I don't mean t'have ya runnin' errands for me but, ya know I don't trust a lot of people. Plus, you've got a talent for finding people--even the ones who don't wanna be found. Anyway, ya know my sister Tevy, right? She's at her university right now. I need someone t'go there and bring her back here. I'd do it but I've just got way to much fuckin' work t'handle here. If I don't make th'deadline than I lose one third of my cut. If ya can do it for me, I'll pay ya. Either that or I'll just let ya drink at the new Pitfall's f'free--seein' that that's where the money I give ya is gonna go anyway."

The grin came back to his face as he moved up behind Chrysalis. His free hand slid from behind her to wrap around her midsection. With his palm settled on her stomach he started running his palm up and down against it. Since his head was turned a bit to the side he was able to take a swig of his beer; the other having been slid into his back pocket. Now that his parched lips had been taken care of he was able to rest his chin against her shoulder and cut his eyes to Chrysalis' face.

"And since you're all angelic and what not, I need ya, or someone ya trust, t'get message t'Tevy that I'm sending Tony t'get her. We could try sendin' a letter but I doubt it'd get there on time. So, anyone who can do the meka-leka-hi-meka-hiney-ho would be much appreciated."

Yup, nothing is ever just coincidence. Already things were starting to make sense and come together. Soon Tevy would be here and he'd not only be able to see her for the first time in near 2 years, but they'd both be able to become part of eachother's lives again. There are just some things that can't be shared through letters, or magic. And it's those things that he missed most. But--everything is coming together, he just had to be patient.

*Internal sigh* ...patience sucks ass.

She was a long time sufferer of Foot In Mouth syndrome and it seemed she had not grown out of that particular malady as her words stumbled over themselves heedlessly as she accused Ryanne of being a snake. Well, not literally a snake. She knew she must be some sort of preternatural creature but having little to no knowledge of her own race, let alone any others, it wasn’t as though she could whip out the name and details for the race of the Lamia based on what she had seen. Ryanne recoiled from her touch and realizing she must have said something wrong she let her hand fall back to her side.

Of course, it had also not occurred to the half angel that Ryanne might not have the foggiest clue as to what she herself was. Not until the other girls confused eyes began filling with tears. Damn damn double damn! She hadn’t meant to make the girl cry! Just then a loud shout echoed from the direction of the bridge, a woman’s voice she did not recognize but that quickly captured Akuma’s attention so there was no help forthcoming from him. As Akuma confirmed the identity of the woman with the foreman who had come a’runnin at the woman’s shouts she turned back to Ryanne and offered her a gentle smile.

“Don’t be sorry Eve. I should be the one apologizing. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. I kinda suck at the abilities I inherited and I don’t know squat about other races. The image I got in my head was of a woman with a serpent’s lower body….is that what you are?”

She strongly suspected that Ryanne didn’t know what she was, but now was not the time to trot this out. There was another woman approaching with the foreman in tow and Ryanne was already upset so reaching out she again invaded Ryanne’s personal space and squeezed her hand.

“We’ll talk more later when we get you settled in, alright?”

Akuma had offered to let Ryanne stay with them until she got settled and already the angelic’s mind had switched over to planning just what she would need in the spare room. It hadn’t been used since she had moved in and would no doubt need fresh linens and an airing out. Their own living situation was somewhat up in the air right now. They were still going home to the Empire and the warehouse at the end of the day but it was becoming tiresome to have to constantly travel through the portal for either of them to get to work. That was a problem for another day, however, and just then Tony appeared at the tent flap with the foreman in tow. Reflexively she shifted her head so that she was partially hidden by Ryanne, her features hidden for the most part from those at the front of the tent. She had missed the beginning of Akuma’s conversation with Daytona so was not aware she was someone Akuma knew and no one she would need to be worried about until Akuma turned to introduce them.

She heard Akuma’s voice offering introductions so eased from her position and moved forward to stand next to Akuma. No sooner had Akuma announced her name then Daytona was asking if she was the gossip columnist who had called her buxom. Brows rising she took a few moments to mentally filter through the articles she had written thus far until the mention of the “buxom” wench came to the forefront. Ah yes, the article about the exploits of Jezika Fehr. Ryanne’s mother. Certainly seemed to be a day for running into the subjects of her articles. At least they’d been amiable thus far. She was relatively convinced they wouldn’t all be.

“Pleased to meet you, Daytona. Yeah, that’s me. I’m the Editor of the Chronicle and the eyes and ears of the realm.”

After listening to Akuma exchange several comments with Daytona regarding her buxom qualifications she couldn’t help but roll her eyes teasingly.”You’re impossible, you know that?” Her eyes followed Akuma to the cooler briefly before shifting back to Daytona. “And yeah, I guess you’ll qualify.” She was certainly buxom enough to qualify for the title in the gossip column at the very least and with a smile she turned to accept the bottle offered to her by Akuma before clicking it against firs his, then Ryanne’s, then Daytona’s, a subtle wink offered Ryanne’s way as she took a long drink of the wine. The girl still looked a bit shook up and it was in the angel’s nature to try to ease that discomfort.

When Akuma came to stand behind her she gladly leaned back against him, her free hand coming to rest on top of the hand he had placed on her abdomen. Her entire body seemed to relax, the last of the tension of the day easing from her limbs as she reclined against his solid frame. Akuma already had a task for the soldier and listening to him explain what he needed, an escort for Tevy, she silently chided herself for not thinking of that sooner. When his attention turned to her she allowed her head to drop back on his shoulder and turned her attention towards his profile. He needed her to send another letter but it wasn’t her that had sent it the first time.

“It has to go through the portal babe and we’d have to send Tony through it anyway. Why not just send the letter with Tony so Tevy knows it’s not bullshit when she shows up there? Any letter would take just as long to get there. It wasn’t me who sent it, but the palace guards in the Empire. They tossed it through the portal.”

Luckily they were used to having to send supplies through the portals considering many of the worlds they came to did not have the same advantages as the Empire. Glancing to Tony she began to rework the arrangements. They had room for Tony too, if she wished to stay with them for a while. Tevy, Tony, and Evie…they could do it! Assuming, of course, everyone wished to stay with them. Perhaps they should tap one of the mondo magic users in the Empire to just shift the warehouse here, then they’d all have room! Something to think about. Could angels do that sort of thing? Feh. She’d never know, besides, she was tainted and would no doubt be incapable of such things.

Turning her attention back to the gathering she let her midnight blue gaze pass over each of the women in turn before again turning her head to pass over Akuma’s profile.

“Whatever you decide you should do it soon. Tevy didn’t give a time; she just said she was on her way. For all we know she’s already wandering around the Empire looking for you.”

Evie hadn't meant to insult Chrysalis, it was just in her nature. Usually everything she touched or touched her fell to shit. Hearing Akuma's offer had the girl thinking and she nodded. "That sounds wonderful. I'll do it. No one would ever expect it from me." It had potential! And then the offer of somewhere to stay, "That would be wonderful, if it wouldn't put either of you out. The place I found is kind of... falling apart in a major way. I had a chunk of ceiling hit me in the head last night when I was trying to sleep with all the... noises around."

Then she heard yet another set of voices and turned around only to be distracted yet again when she heard Chrysalis' words and felt her hand. Smiling, Evie turned back. "To be honest. I don't know what I am. I didn't get a good look at who or what attacked me. I don't even know if it was a man or a woman. It happened so fast. But, that would explain the weird things happening lately and why I wake up to find snakes in my room sometimes. I know you meant nothing by it, it just caught me off guard is all. No worries."

Once again, Ryanne became distracted by something Akuma said. "Meka-leka-hi-meka-hiney-ho? What the fuck is that, 'kuma?" Blinking, she saw the forman come in behind a woman that looked familiar. But once the talk began, Evie's mind checked out until she heard her mother's name. "Why does that woman's name follow me everywhere." She loved her mother, truly she did. More than she thought she did, but Jesus. "and I don't want to know how you know just how buxom she is! God, that woman gets around more than anyone I know." Which really wasn't true... anymore. Jezika had been on the mend since she came to Aleris, she just had the msifortune to be in the right places at the wrong times.

"Seriously, I haven't eaten in days, and I would like to have the urge to eat when I do get hungry..."

Of course, Ryanne didn't get her mother's buxomness. Not yet at least, but she got everything else, even some things she would have rather not. But all this talk was making Evie nervous. She knew she and her mother weren't on good terms, and having another blow up might not be the best thing to happen. However, she couldn't wait to talk to Chrysalis more, at least she had an insight as to what the fuck was going on in Evie's demented little world.

"I'll do whatever you two need me to do. I can help now, even. It'll give me something to do other than be paranoid and try and mend bridges with Jezika." Yeah, even she couldn't help but say her name. Then again, the woman had been more of a mother in the past couple years than she ever had been, and what does Evie do? Drives her away. Score one for the introverted sociopath!

"Who's Tevy and how can I help?" It seemed like everyone wanted this person here, and Evie was looking to belong. So why not jump on the bandwagon?

If Evie had been paying attention, she might not have had to ask that question. But let's face it, there were a lot of people talking way too fast for her to catch anything at the moment. Her mind was still coming down from the fact that Chrysalis might be able to help her, which moved the girl to being Evie's most favorite person. Which might or might not be a good thing for Chrysalis, because Evie, unlike most girls her age... didn't know how to -be- a girl very well.

She could use some help in that department.

Forgetting her manners, like usual, she nodded her head in greeting to Tony. "You must be the one mom used to talk about a lot.... when me and my mother were still talking that is." Yeah, it was a once in a blue moon occurance anymore. Then again, Evie was inheriting Jezika's mood swings, and her adversion to men. Evie didn't need a psychologist to tell her that she got Jezika's bad taste in men. "At least now I see what she was talking about." A perk of an eyebrow, and that was Evie's lame attempt at flirting. She was off her game, that was for sure.

Hands down, she had the worst luck with men. Ever. Which is why Evie had sworn off the male gender in general. She didn't want nor need kids, so who needs'm? Not her! However long this lasted was a mystery, but after the last one, who could really blame her?

Taking the drink Akuma offered, she clinked the bottle against theirs and took a healthy swig. "So, when can I start? I'll help Tony if she needs it too. I have no life, I have all the time in the world."

Apparently her entrance had caused something of a stir in the makeshift office. With Tony, that was usually the case. She had a habit of bursting into rooms with all of the grace of a lobotomized bull moose in a china shop, and could do about the same amount of damage depending on her state at the time of entry.

“Sorry! Didn’t mean to interrupt anything…You were probably having a meaningful conversation or something…” Very rarely was Tony included in such things, as she rarely had anything truly meaningful to say. "Pick up Tevy, you say? Well, absolutely, Boss. Just let me know where she’s at, and I will head right over there. I’m assuming that she went to a college somewhere back on earth…probably in the U.S.? Unless she went squirrelly and moved her ass up to Canadia for some reason.. ” During her time in the military Tony had been posted all over the continental US, and had always been a fan of college parties, and college girls. She was familiar with most of the big campuses, on both coasts and in the middle. Both eyebrows perked up when they told her that it was actually UCLA.

“No shit, really? I had a summer job there, the summer I turned twenty-one” The real question was, what exactly had she been doing at a college campus when she was 21, when she enlisted in the Army at 18. “Yeah, I totally know my way around, I ran the camera for a taping of Girls Gone Wild. Seriously, it was probably one of the best summers of my life! I think I still have a few of the shirts we gave out. After I took them off of the girls, I kept them as souvenirs.” Or tokens of conquest.
After downing one of the beer, she set the bottle on the ground near her feet, and set to work on the other one.

“I’d be glad to go pick the kid up, even without the free drinks, but they are much appreciated. I’ll even try to make it so as I don’t look so much like a babysitter when I show up. Can’t be embarrassing her in front of all of her friends, and what not. Nothing worse than finding out that your big brother sent you a nanny to bring you home.” She had quite the plan forming, and in the rare moments when Tony schemed, you could see it written all over her face.

“Shit, Jez is your mom?” Cue what could have been considered a very deep blush. “Uh…she and I go way back. I mean, we’re just good friends….” She was spluttering a bit. “Very good friends.” Friends with benefits, maybe. “I…er…uh…what did she have to say about me, then?” Nothing like meeting the estranged daughter of an infrequent bedfellow to make a girl feel a little awkward. “You and I met at the festival thingy, right? You didn’t have a date, so we sat down together. Next to the Knight and the Nymph….Good times.” And she’d been hitting on the girl the whole time…Might as well just open mouth and insert foot. "It’s a shame you two don’t talk anymore…she’s really changed since the whole Priestess thing…I mean, I haven’t had to drag her ass out of some fight she got herself into in a long while.”

Nodding her head, Tony decided that now might be a perfect time to take the focus off of how incredibly often she stuttered, and onto the rapidly warming beer in her cold hands.

“Yeah…Good times...”

While everyone conversed and got acquainted he just nursed his beer, while his other arm stayed wrapped around Chrysalis' waist. It wasn't until she brought up the idea to send Daytona through -with- the letter that he actually started talking again.

"Yeah--that works even better. It'll give her somethin' t--"

Eventide asked just who Tevy was and it just then occurred to him that he hadn't ever really talked about her around the people who weren't a -constant- in his life. After another drink of his beer he detoured from what he was going to say so that he could give a quick trip down memory lane.

"Tevy is my sister. She was adopted like I was, but I ended up bein' the one who really raised her. After dad died I guess I just kinda fell int'the role ya know? She's a great kid. Ya know the type? Int'music, big dreams, wanted t'go t'school for the arts or somethin' but then decided she wanted t'be a psychologist. I dunno--she's always changin' her mind, decidin' she wants t'try somethin' different.

When Evie offered to go with Daytona, he eyed both of them for a second--almost like he was figuring some bigger details out. The last time he'd spoke to Tevy she'd told him how she was starting to find women more to her liking than guys, and being the type of guy he was ideas began to form in his brain. Tevy would definitely have a shitload of questions as well as comments if someone just -showed- up to pick her up whether they had a letter or not. She'd probably be more willing to follow two women that had the looks and attitude like the 2 in front of him. When that realization came, he smiled.

"That would be great. Tony, and Evie showin' up at her door. I'd suggest ya both wear somethin' revealin', she won't ask any questions once she sees the letter. But I know I'd be a lot easier t'lead if two young, half dressed chics showed up at -my- door--that is, when women did that kinda thing; back when I was still all polyamorous and what not."

His eyes shifted to Chrysalis and he grinned a bit, giving a soft pat to her hip before looking back towards Tony and Evie. It made sense. Whatever either of them thought about themselves they were definitely good looking. They had bodies that basically screamed to be stared at, and since Tevy was his sister after all, he knew that with how into -art and beauty- she was--added to the fact she probably had his attitude towards sex, she'd follow the two of them to Hell if they had on cut-offs and shook their asses the right way. In the end it was all about what made things easiest, and this seemed the quickest way to do things.

"Ok, so, Tony and Evie will head to Tevy's school with the letter tellin' her t'get her ass here. Since it's on Earth--Earth, that shit never gets old, makes me feel like a martian or somethin'. Anyway, her school's on earth so no fang flashin', no oogie boogie shit. I don't care what ya all do once yer asses are back through that portal, but while on the other side I rather not attract any attention. Well--any attention outside of the stares you're both gonna get."

The grin widened over his lips and he set the bottle down so that he could slip his fingers into a pants pocket and pull out the letter. Handing it off to Tony, he smiled to her. No matter how much he fucked around and treated everything like a big joke, he knew he could trust her. If anyone could take the trip between the two worlds, get his sister, and come back without any hang-ups, he knew it'd be her. There was a lot of trust being given right now, and that's kind of what that "brief" smile he gave her said.

"The school she's in is in Los Angeles; UCLA. At least it better be--that's where I've been sendin' the checks. It shouldn't be too hard, with Thanksgivin' break right around the corner the school should be pretty empty. If ya have any problems, I think I can call in a favor from an old friend so that you guys can just teleport right back here if shit gets heavy."

He'd get in touch with Ameerah as soon as possible so that she could let him "borrow" one of those nifty pendants the family uses to get from one place to another. For now though he just went quiet as he picked up his beer again. No doubt the two ladies standing in front of him would have something to say before heading out on their -Journey to the Center of Estrogen-.
