Arthuran
Arthuran is a continent with two halves - one half seems to be covered by a constant snowfall while the other half holds a dangerous number of swamps and marshes. Time seems to stand still in the north. The trees harbor little to no leaves, and those that are there appear to be on the brink of falling. There are much fewer animals to be found, less than even what would be found in the south. The sun is forever hidden behind a line of clouds that look to have no end, only letting the occasional beam of light through, enough to shroud the land in a state of eternal twilight. It is the least inhabited of the four corners, and those that do manage to live there are often those who wish no part of a populated world.
Chaliceton
The only known town on the continent of Arthuran. It is covered by a constant snowfall and for this reason all the houses within the village are made from large cobblestones to keep the people inside warm. People dress in thick coats made from the fur and skin of animals native to the area and as for transportation, Husky drawn sleds are used to get around the snow fields. Despite the climate, Chaliceton is one of the few places on Arthuran that does manage to get a good amount of sunlight, so its people are able to function and live here normally. Though their lives may be somewhat more difficult, the residents of Chaliceton are happy to reside in their snow filled village.
Temple of Winter
Elysia's temple is in the middle of a snow covered field that is surrounded on two sides (north and west) by mountains. Here, it always seems to be snowing. The closer one gets to her temple, the harder the snow falls, as if it were trying to shield away the weak and keep only the faithful from entering. It is said that the snow surrounding her temple is so dense that the building itself is difficult to see and people may walk right by it. Many have gotten lost on their trek to this temple. Other than that, Elysia keeps hardly anything to guard her temple as most are not keen to enter the House of Winter.
Once at the door of her temple, a person would find it looks mostly like an ancient cathedral, shaped from strong marble. Inside, the large vaulted and arched ceiling contains many icicles, hanging almost dangerously. If they were to come crashing down, it would surely kill a person. On all sides, much of the wall is frosted with a thin layer of ice, though strangely from cracks in the marble, one might find delicate blue flowers dotted along and blooming despite the harsh climate and lack of sunlight.
In the antechambers of her temple where her servants or attendants might reside, she allows them to keep a fire for warmth. However, you will not usually find her lingering in these rooms if there are flames present.
Eternal Lake
This lake, located close to Elysia's Temple, is not called the Eternal Lake because it is has been around for years and years. Instead, it was dubbed this because the waters have been frozen for countless centuries. No one knows for sure how long it has been frozen, but the ice has an incredible amount of thickness to it. Braver people will walk right across it, but others wouldn't even dare - they are too afraid the ice might break and that they would be swallowed up by its waters. People also prefer to travel around it due to the harsh snow filled winds that flow across the lake.
Erronei Pass
It is a pass that starts as the base of the Oblivion Mountains and runs through the narrow strip of land that connects Elved and Arthuran. It is the only known way to get through Arthuran and head to Elved. It is not impossible to travel, but the path is mountainous and then turns into a road of swamp and marsh. Most would rather just to stay away and take a ship from Hinewai Harbor to Port Bariston if needed.
The Oblivion Mountains
In all of Aleris, the Oblivion Mountains stand as the highest landmass. They are a dark and treacherous place that even the bravest of travelers avoid. It is unknown how many have died attempting to cross the mountain range, but it is said that once a person ventures into the terrain, they are never seen again. Be wary traveler, less you succumb to Oblivion.
The Shadow Marshes
A bog stretching for many miles across the northlands, there are said to be thousands of bodies littering the bottom of the marsh - if there is in fact a bottom at all. The waters are pitch black and there are rumored to be many desperate and violent creatures that forever prowl the blackened waters. Only those who wish to hide from the world, or hide something from the world, come to the marshes. Once anything is cast into the bog, it is never seen again.
