Jobs

Jobs are important to choose because they are a way of gaining money in Aleris besides characters going on hosted quests. Job openings will be posted here, but you must apply via the global forum if you are interested in a position.

Job categories

  • Defense: Consists of ranks within the kingdom. This system is set up to protect the people of Aleris and their king.
  • Religious: This faction contains the deities of Aleris and their most trusted advisors and fighters.
  • Civil: A section for the people of Aleris mainly revolving shopkeepers (Managers and Employees).

Job rules

  1. In order to get gold payments for your job, you must post at least 500 words a month. If you post over the requirement, you will receive more gold. For every additional 100 words past the 500 word requirement, you will get 50 extra gold.
    • If you are a Manager or Employee, we would prefer that your job posts are written in the designated thread where the shop is located. However, if you make posts elsewhere in the forum, that is fine too.
  2. The amount of gold a character will receive at the end of the month is based on their job position in Aleris and how many words they post during that month. (This reward is based on if the character is actively role playing. If no post is made in a month, then no rewards will be distributed.)

    For example:
    • Character A is an employee of First Impressions. They post 800 words during the month. With the 500 word requirement, their base pay for that position is 100 gold. Because they posted 300 extra words, the character will get an additional 150 gold (300 / 100 * 50). This gives that character a total amount of 250 gold for the month.
    • In contrast, Character B who writes under 500 words during the month or does not write anything at all gets no gold.

  3. Characters may only apply for one position in the Kingdom of Aleris at any time.
  4. To apply for a job as a Manager or Employee, you most post in this thread on the forum. Manager positions will be approved by the GMs and Employee positions will be approved by their higher-ups as long as there is one in place. For the "Defense" and "Religious" jobs, a job application must be role played out through a storyline and your position will be accepted by the higher rank in charge.
  5. If a character does not post at all for at least three months, their job title will be stripped from them. If a job is taken away, a character may reapply for a different one in two weeks.
