"Not at all! Baby’s heartbeat is very strong. Growing like a weed actually. With Verial's super sperm and your iron womb, nothing short of a bomb is going to bother that child."

"That's...wow, did you just say 'super sperm'?"

"I did. How does that make you feel?"

"I might vomit."

Evie had fallen into what seems to be a slump, and when people outside herself can see it, it's never a good thing. There where many things going through her head and she blamed herself for so much. Maybe it was karma. That was likely the answer to everything. Karma. She had treated her mother, and everyone who ever cared about her like shit and now she had no one.

Well that wasn't entirely true.

She had Chrysa and Akuma. They were basically her only friends anymore. Not like she had many outside of those two anyway. Evie managed to alienate her mother and over the past couple years she lost someone she cared about more than she liked to let on. London. Now that was someone she hadn't thought about in a long time. Figuring that she ran him off when she decided to get with the psychopath that caused her more trouble than he was worth, it was something she used to think about frequently.

He was supposed to be her protector, hired by Morlis, who she had thought to be her father. "I think I inherited Jezika's bad taste in men." She mused as she sat in a booth in the tavern. Someone looked at her questionably since she was sitting by herself -- talking to herself. "What'reya lookin' at?" Scowling, Evie shook her head and took a drink from the bottle. Slouching in the seat, she nearly thunked her head back against the booth. There was a time where she would have been able to feel London because she herself was a wolf, but that was torn away from her rather violently. That link was no longer there. Evie still didn't have a grasp on what she was exactly. It was coming to her slowly, but she still didn't know what was happening. The Lamia was a creature few know much about since it's a rare species.

Evie wouldn't be surprised if London hated her after what she did. Hell, Evie hated herself. She had gotten close to him, he defended her -- got his ass kicked and tortured by Ameerah and how did Evie repay him? She left him for someone else. Man, it even sounded fucked up to her. Leaning forward, she rubbed her hand against her forehead, the other still curled fingers around the bottle. Techically, she was too young to drink. But no one gave her any trouble. It was true that Evie was slightly high strung as of late, but she hadn't exactly been thinking clearly. With her asking Chrysa to try and help her find her sister, and her mind often wandering to London, she was in pretty bad shape. She had no way of even contacting the man, let alone if he'd want anything to do with him.

If she could go back and change it all, she would in a heartbeat.

Stupidity ran in the family. The tip of her tongue drew over the retractable fangs, that, too would be a whole new problem. Would London even like her now that she wasn't a wolf? Many lycans didn't get along with other animals, and now that Evie was more than just a shapshifter. Lamia's weren't typical shapeshifters, she could only turn half of her body into a snake. She was also venomous, though that part she didn't quite know just yet.

Mystra Amor was the last place she saw London, and she figured he wouldn't step foot here, just like how she wouldn't step foot there. But Goddess knew, Evie felt horrible about what she'd done. There were times that she wished she knew what was happening to her, she was overly moodly and a bit on the emo side, though not on purpose. She just didn't have the energy to care anymore. Evie had never been a social butterfly like her mother, but she couldn't remember a time where she was as reclusive as she was now.

"Where are you?" She sighed and whispered before bringing the bottle to her lips and knocking back a rather large porition of the liquor.

Killing the man was simple, It had always been simple to the wolf had always led to the path that he choose to follow, A path that not many would follow behind perhaps out of fear or simply out of wanting to live.

The life dimmed from the mans eyes slowly as London watched his red blood drenched hand slowly rip the throat from him the sickening sound as air rushed out in his final breath merly to brush up against his hand.

The body fell like all the others, An obsticule passed like any other looking down upon the corpse of the man he had just slain, London felt nothing for him or the deed that had just been done it was a job you see a job that he had found a knack for if not the heart but what was a heart without a soul to run with it.

Reaching down London would grab the head and with a slight grunt would detach it from the rest.

"You have finished?" The blurry eyed man would ask looking to the hunter standing before him always masked in the shadow from his long dark waves of hair before his face..

A bag was tossed as a dull thump would be heard from inside as it slapped against the table before the man.

"The head of Marques." The man growled low.

"Ah, many maidens and men I might add will live thier lifes out with this one gone." Taking the bag he would toss it to the side before laying a rather large amount of gold coins upon the desk.

"Payment as agreed, For a fine job like any other.. London."

Stepping forward London would lean down taking the coins though he paused for a moment allowing his dark strands to shift from his face unmasking the half-beastal features hidden behind. The blurry eyed man would gasp softly staring within those dark orbs of London's wondering for a moment if humanity had been lost within this one.. The wolf cherished the fear radiating off this one the smell of it in this humans sweat. But it was not allowed to kill this one very few it's human half had a say over and this one was one of them.. So he took the coins before stepping back allowing his hair to mask his features once again.

Coming to his senses the man blinked glancing away, Away from the madness that was coaxing him to flee from this man before him.. He took a moment to steady himself before speaking again, " We have another job for you, We need another man taken care of.. One of no importance to us.. But to you."

Tilting his head slightly London would continue to listen smirking to himself nothing was important to him anymore.. He lived for the sake of living nothing else. But he will allow this man his employer to think diffrently for now.

"Why is this man important to us?.. Me?" The wolf had always thought of his human half a weakling it hadn't taken much for him to be broken to allow the wolf partial if not full control of their form.

"This man has been paid to kill someone that was once a client to you, A girl by the name of Eventide it appears she has connections with the local paper to a journalist by the name of Chrysalis this journalist has made some enemies to be sure.. I don't know the details only that another group has hired us to kill the man hired to assassinate this Eventide Fehr."

The wolf growled low as it felt London slam against it's conscience pitting himself against the wolf for control, It had been awhile since London had showed even the meager resistance to the wolf's control over the form.. It had been to long another growl and London was silenced screaming back into the wolfs sub-conscience.. Yes the wolf knew of this woman the man spoke of from the memories of London it was this woman's fault or... Perhaps blessing that gave the wolf his freedom.

"I'll take the job.."

The man nodded before placing an envelop upon his desk motioning to it, " You will be leaving in the morning aboard the screaming maiden to Aleris it is a fairly long trip your cover will be the captains right hand man in a smuggling operation.. All the information is within the package.. Good hunting."

Taking the envelop the wolf smirked behind the strands of hair as he turned making his way to the door finally it thought.. It's ever-lasting freedom was at hand.. The man at the desk hadn't known he had just given the man who was hired to kill Eventide the information he needed to get close enough to her... It won't be long London before you shall watch me kill the one person that will destroy your weak control over me, And I will be forever the master. The screams and threats from within almost caused the wolf to smile... almost.

Evie had no way of knowing about the hit on her -- though, it wouldn't be the first time. No one could have fathomed that Jezika's only birth daughter would turn out to be twice as bad as her mother. No matter how hard she fought, she couldn't get away from the fact that she was Jezika's daughter. Her head shook as she finally left the confines of the tavern. No one refused her service, even though she was only nineteen.

They didn't dare.

The girl didn't know why her thoughts had fallen on London as of late. After all, she all but abandoned him for the fucking welp that brainwashed her. A low growl seeped from her lips at the thought of that. Even though Evie didn't have the wolf inside of her anymore, didn't mean she still didn't feel it -- the urges. There were days that she wished that she was still wolf and every time she thought that, the mass of snakes in her mind hissed and coiled over one another in an angry manner. It caused Evie to wince. "Sooorry." She apologized to no one in particular, and she gathered looks from passing people. A snarl curled her lips as she bulled the onlookers.

Her hands slid into the pockets of the jacket as she came down the street, Ryanne had a job to do, actually. She had to pick up a shipment for Akuma, since she worked for him as well as Chrysalis. Evie was a go-to girl as well as a snitch. No one suspected her -- as far as she knew, of course. And the docks was no place for a girl of her age -- at least outwardly appearance. Evie was actually younger than she looked on the outside. Mentally, she was maybe fifteen at the oldest at times, she did however hide it well. Her mother had her aged before she died, the first time, to make sure that she was old enough to understand what was going on. It was that mental instability that caused her to kill Emberlyn. Her own wayward whore of an adopted sister. The wench betrayed them all, and hurt Jezika more than anyone. Sold her out to Camyron, who was another person that Evie couldn't stand.

Pushing the bitter, evil thoughts from her head Evie focused her mind. She'd have to stay on her toes. Danger was something Evie was used to. She had been Ameerah's runner for awhile, and that -- well that, would be the last time she would have seen London. When he was so 'lovingly' delivered into Meerah's tender care. The thought made her wince as she heard a voice once she reached the pier.

"What'cha doin' here, girly? Don'tcha know it's not exact'y th' place for young'ns." Came a rather gruff voice.

Eerily pale eyes turned up toward the harbormaster as a small grin curled across her lips. "I don't worry about it, Henry. I'm pretty sure that anyone who touched me would be missing a limb."

Recognition flashed across his features. "Evie? Is tha' you, darlin'? I dinna recgonize ya." A bold grin crossed Henry's features.

"Yeah, old man. It's me. I went through a bit of a change, that's all. I'm here on work, actually. Did the shipment come yet?" Evie, for the moment, looked almost exactly like her mother -- however a bit skinnier, and her bust was much smaller. Where Jezika was golden skinned, Evie was paler, she was also taller. She was still changing as the Lamia inside of her grew stronger. That, and she was still a little off from the booze.

However, there was something else happening. Something that even Evie couldn't wrap her head around. Something she thought she had lost was very much still there. The wolf stirred in Her sleep, the snake had tried to bully her, to keep her repressed but the wolf was showing that She wasn't going to roll over and take it anymore. Closing her eyes, she took a small breath to try and calm the energy that was roiling inside of her. Which one would win? Even Evie couldn't predict that. She did, however know, that whatever the outcome Evie just hoped that she was left alive when the dust settled.

Evie had enough trouble trying to fight off the Lamia. The snake was like an infection -- it killed the pyromancer in her -- the part that she got from her mother. But, even that had been buried under the wolf. she was born half Loup Garou and half pyromancer. But this... this was torture. It was like being torn up from the inside out -- so far, the snake was winning. The girl was, for all reasonable purposes, messed up. She knew she had to try and hide her discomfort from Henry. A wounded girl would be like chum to sharks around there. Even Chrysa and Akuma didn't know the extent of her struggle. It came with the territory, however, of not knowing the whole story about who ones parents were. When her eyes opened, they would flash from pale grey to bright honey and back again -- a sign of the innter termoil, though she said not a word and hoped that Henry was too busy with the list to notice.

Luckily, he was.

"Nah. Not yet a'least. The ship should be in soon. You c'n wait inside if'n you wanna. It's become quite dangerous since you've last been 'ere." Henry ran his hand over his stubbled chin as he went over the checklist in his hands. "Or you c'n wait until th' mornin'. I'm sure that ah'll have everything ya need in one place by then."

Evie shook her head. "That's okay, Henry. I don't really want to go home yet. I'll be okay, I always am." She smiled. Henry looked after her, though she knew she didn't need to be babysat,

"Just be careful, Evie. You know where ta find me if'n you need me."

"I do, thank you again." Evie smiled, she wasn't in a bad mood -- completely. Stepping away from the man, she ventured deeper onto the pier. She knew where the ship was docking, same place as usual. So she'd hang around and wait. One thing Evie had over her mother... she was patient.

She was bored. Nearly to tears, literally. Things had become so slow in Aleris lately that she had had nothing to write about and her weekly articles had been suspended until just that week. Thankfully things were beginning to pick back up and the gossip was beginning to flow like sweet nectar once again. It was probably somewhat out of nature for a half angel to be so amused by the drama of others, and then to gossip about it mercilessly, but there she was in a nutshell. A study in contradictions, or so she’d been told.

A few nights ago Eventide had taken pity on the action starved reporter and had accompanied her to the docks and about town in the hopes of finding something interesting to write about. Akuma’s time had been largely occupied by Pit Falls and since she knew fuck all about Pit Fighting or the running of said business she was mostly useless when it came to helping out. It was for that reason that she again sought out the slightly younger woman in the hopes of finding something to entertain her for the evening which was fast approaching.

The sun had begun to set when she reached the docks. Her former assistant at the paper, Tiffany, had performed her final task by telling Chrysalis that Eventide would be at the docks on a task for Akuma. It was the lusty little sigh she gave when mentioning Akuma’s name that had been the final straw for the half angel and Tiffany was now seeking employment elsewhere. She ignored the glances she received from the people milling around the pier, the blue wig was firmly back in place along with the accompanying make up, and that often caused a glance or two. Though she drew attention no one looked at the outlandish picture she presented and imagined she was who she was. Hide in plain sight, that was her motto.

It only took a few minutes of searching through the dispersing crowds to find the familiar figure that belonging to Evie. She was nearly at the edge of the pier and gaining speed she was practically running when she reached the girl. Using the momentum her right foot braced on the bottom rung of the railing Evie had chosen to lean against and boosting herself up she turned mid-motion and sat herself on the top rail. Canting her head to the side she let her dark blue eyes travel over her face a moment.

“How’s my favorite emo girl? Hm?”

Grinning to soften her words she nudged Evie with her knee.

“Brooding about London again? He’ll see the article and he’ll contact me and we’ll arrange for you both to sit down and talk. It’ll all work out. Trust me!”

Her grin widened into a bright smile as she reassured the woman. Evie had finally broken down and told her about her run in with her former wolf lover and was convinced he would hate her for eternity over the events in their past. Maybe he would, the reporter really didn’t know, but if Evie didn’t at least try to mend fences with this mysterious London then she would regret it forever. “Might have beens” were a bitch.

“Yes, still meddling. So sue me. What’s on the agenda tonight? Drugs? Slaves? Fighters? Or just more equipment for the Pits?”

If Evie was picking up a shipment for Akuma that no doubt meant she would need to deliver said shipment too Akuma and she might actually get to see her man before midnight. Huzzah! The evening was looking up already.
