He wasn't sure if his words would have the effect he hoped they would on the shifter, but he felt a bit better just having gotten them out. Now he only hoped that he hadn't angered her enough to kill him in his sleep.

She wasn't finished spending Ameerah's money, not by a long shot. A stop at the Executioner's Block on Drybrush had ended with the purchase of several new weapons though not to the extent she had hoped. What else does one do when attempting to spend large amounts of money? Purchase land, of course. In spite of Valorius' warnings that she not do so again she left the continent of Heruin without notifying anyone and traveled to Eiler where the land offices were located. It wasn't her intention that anyone would know about this particular land purchase, not even Valorius. Not yet anyway.

Heeled boots clicked along the sidewalk as she sauntered through the Marketplace in search of the land office. She recalled seeing the plaque next to the door during her hunt for the jewelry store so it was not long before she spotted her destination and pushed into the dim interior. Just as in the jewelry store she did not remove the dark glasses that hid her ruby gaze. It was highly unlikely she would run into anyone who knew Ameerah intimately on Eiler but she had already become somewhat notorious and she wasn't sure who, if anyone, would recognize that the Padishah's gaze was not quite right. For now she would take no chances and kept her eyes hidden.

Approaching the desk she dropped the necessary paperwork onto the desk in front of the land clerk. Within the paperwork would be a request to purchase a single plot of land on the continent of Arthuran.

Plot 21 across f down.

”Any correspondence regarding this plot of land should be sent to the location on the forms. Do ~not~ send it to my estate on Heruin, understand?”

She had no intentions of anyone finding out about this purchase until she was damn good and ready for them to.

The First Step In Moving Forward Had Been Taken Care Of. To Most It Would Have Been A Simple Decision And Nothing More. A Scythe Returned And A New Pistol Purchased. How Could Such A Thing Help A Person Break Free Of Regret? To Be Quite Honest He Couldn't Explain It Himself, All He Knew Was That Without The Weapon In His Possession He Felt -- Less Burdened Somehow.

Now All That Was Left Was To Begin Anew. To Do So In The Land That Both He And The Padishah Owned Seemed Wrong Somehow. There Was Too Much He Remembered, And The Ash Of Their Former Home Still Covered The Sands There. He Had Made Sure To Remove All That Remained From The Sub-Level He'd Built Beneath The Former Residence, And Now The Minor Isle Was As Empty As It Was Before Anything Had Been Built There.

The Journey To The Realty Offices Had Taken Longer Than The One To The Executioners Block, And He Encountered Several Of The Plague Ridden Along The Way. When He Arrived In Grand City He Was Relieved To Find That The King Had Taken Precautions, And There Hadn't Been A Sighting Of Any Infected For A Day Or So. This At Least Made Things Less Difficult Than They Already Were.

Entering The Realtors Offices He Noticed The Merchant There Was Surprised To See Him. No Doubt That Business Had Been Slow All Things Considered. After All, Who Would Want To Buy Land In A World Ridden With Sickness?

Offering A Civil Nod To The Clerk He Walked To Their Desk And Sighed Softly As Several Deeds Were Removed From The Small Satchel He Carried. Each One Was Eyed With Consideration. This Act, As Commonplace As It Was For Most People, Was Much More Difficult For Him Than The Returning Of The Scythe. It Felt So Very Final In Regard To Putting Things Behind Him. A Few Silent Moments Passed Before He Was Able To Lay All 8 Deeds On The Counter And Say What He Had Come To Say.

"I would like to trade six of these deeds in for six new parcels of land. The remaining two I am selling back. I understand that there is normally a two week waiting period between land purchases...but with the current illness tearing through Aleris I don't think a worldwide land-grab will be happening anytime soon. And if it does, it won't be for anywhere near Heruin. I also know that land being sold back doesn't have the same monetary value, so whatever the difference, you can take it from the gold you'll be giving me."

Dystopia was a woman of many talents and trades. Some days she worked the weapon's shop which wasn't a bad gig (at least she got to play with the pretty pointy weapons), and some days she was stuck in a dusty shop waiting....always waiting...for someone to come along and either buy land (which was always awesome), return land plots (which sucked because then she had to go in the back and return money), or figure out a trade in value for people (which sucked too because she only had ten fingers and often had to rely on her toes).

She was busy stacking coins upon the counter, making what she deemed a most fabulous replica of the Grand City, when Valorius Malku entered her shop.

"DON'T SLAM THE DOOR!"

Whatever his reasoning for being here, the last thing she wanted was to pick up each and every single coin off the floor. Besides, she put in a lot of time and effort into her city of gold. She was busy rearranging the coins gates when she heard him sigh and glance at deeds of land from the corner of her eye. It seemed like an awfully long time before he finally came to a decision, and when she did finally manage to give him her full attention, she could see that the man's final choice came with a heavy heart and seemingly a shit pile of regret.

Dystopia glanced at the deeds and pulled out Ye Olde Book of Land Plots where she would remove his name as owner to these particular parcels before adding his name to the requested areas of land. She raised a brow at him concerning the amount of land in such a short time period (there were rules ya know!), but had to admit the man had a point. There was so much crazy going on in the world these days, Valorius was the first person to enter her shop in....ages.

"Fine. I'm bending the rules this time, pal. You caught me on a good day," she grumbled, but if truth be told, Dystopia might have felt a wee bit sorry for the Bel Telal who was looking like he had seen better days. That and the fact that he did the math for her, saving her quite a bit of trouble...and embarrassing counting...was a bonus.

She handed him the new deeds and stashed away the old ones to be torn up later. "Alrighty. It's done. I owe you 1200 gold." She eyed her beloved Grand City replica, knowing damn well it took exactly 1202 gold pieces to create it, and sighed. Maybe sniffed a bit too as she yanked out a large leather satchel from under her desk. With a sweep of her hand, and tons of resentment, Dystopia sent her impressive golden structure of gold showering into the bag...save for two gold pieces she kept out before thrusting the bag at him and glowering.

"There. All finished. Via con Dystopia," Was all she said before flouncing off into the back room for more coins to play with.
