A Sort of Zombie Love StoryIt was All Hallows Eve and not a sane creature to be found,
In Eilers dark cemetery where things lurked underground.
Normally a sacred place of rest and eternal sleep,
A sanctuary where one would go to pray, to weep.
But on certain nights with a change in the moon,
The dead would rise and not a moment too soon.
To stay away and keep safe was common knowledge for most,
But not to Reid Feral, the Editor in Chief for Aleris post.
Perhaps it was all the Rumor Has it Articles he wrote,
That no one felt the need to send him a memo or note.
To Reid, the graveyard seemed as good as anywhere,
For a midnight stroll where no other souls would dare.
At first his walk was quiet and he was very much alone,
Then there was an unmistakable sound - a moan.
"Where did that come from? What was that sound?"Reid took a chance and looked quickly around.
There was no one but himself, the dead and the dark,
So Reid continued on with his walk through the "park".
Not long after that Reid heard the eerie sound again,
He took out his only weapon he carried with him - a pen.
The thought occurred to him to attempt to head out and run,
Walking through Souls Ferry Cemetery was no longer fun.
In his sudden and worried haste, Reid finally turned to leave,
The gates in sight, he all too soon let out a sigh of relief.
Just as let himself begin to feel safe, to his utter surprise,
There was a horrible sight before his gray colored eyes.
Zombies! Everywhere! Roaming aimlessly about the night,
Prowling, pacing, looking for flesh they could tear and bite.
Reid stood in silent panic, completely frozen by his fear,
Until he realized they were lumbering his way and drawing near.
"Braainss... braainss... argghhh..." they groaned with outstretched arms,
And Reid knew at once they wanted to do him much harm.
As they began to circle him, once more Reid knew when to flee,
He took off like a caged bird that had just been set free.
Running towards the cemeterys gates proved not to work,
The one close exit they swarmed like flesh-hungry jerks.
Running the zombie horde in circles and circles proved futile,
They did not tire or give up pursuit even after a mile.
With no other choice, Reid ran anxiously to the east,
Hoping above hope that there would another exit at least.
Screaming like a terrified girl to raise alarm, Reid ran fast,
Praying that some other living soul would hear him pass.
Climbing up a hill, Reid met his untimely and strange fate,
A lone zombie that was looking for the wailing bait.
This one was still quite handsome and not yet decayed,
Reid thought,
"With him, I can spend the rest of my days!"As it was, dates for Reid were increasingly hard to come by,
And running from zombies herds was not easy a pie.
Reid jumped in the zombies arms and give him a quick peck,
Then shouted,
"Eat me, you fool!" offering his neck.
The zombie did not think twice about his free meal,
And chewed hungrily into Reid like he was raw veal.
So it was that the Editor of The Chronicle became the undead,
Living happily with his zombie partner, forever and ever, the end.
