"In the meantime," Elijah began, finishing the sentence for the man next to him, "get rid of Shimmer Town, then the rest of Elved and then... Aleris."

"And the children?"

Elijah offered a shrug. "Appetizers?"

Festival Of The Dead Declared A Success But Masked Ball Generates Little Interest

After much preparation on the part of Aleris’ new High Priestess, Jezika Fehr, and just as much speculation on the part of the Alerian populace, the first Festival of the Dead to be held in Aleris’ temples was declared a success. There was a modest turn out for the Festival, not as many as was originally expected or hoped, but a turn out worthy of Ms. Fehr’s expectations none the less.

The Festival of the Dead itself is not a holiday that was regularly observed within Aleris prior to the opening of the Outer Gates and those who attended were primarily new comers who arrived only recently through the Gates. Perhaps this kept those native Alerian’s who have criticized the opening of the Outer Gates from attending the Festival though it is just as likely simply a matter of a difference in culture.

The Masked Ball portion of the event was postponed initially when the turn out for the Festival was far smaller then hoped for but when interest continued to flag it was cancelled all together.

Ms. Fehr has announced her intentions to plan an observance for the upcoming holiday season of Yule, known by many as Christmas. It is traditionally a season of caring, understanding, and giving, so it is the hope of many that it will make bigger strides towards uniting the citizens of Aleris, new and old.

In Other News….

The Redmont Civil war continues to rage in the dimension known only as the Outlands. All accounts that have made it through the Outer Gates of the war describe scenes of merciless violence that has torn the family apart. Rumors of intrigue and brutality abound but very little is known of what actually has occurred save for the Redmonts and thus far they are saying very little on the matter to any who are not directly involved in the conflict.

Thus far the Redmont civil war has not yet spilled over into the land of Aleris save for the continuing skirmishes throughout the city though it is feared that it will come to the streets of Aleris full force and begin to endanger those who have no involvement what so ever in the conflict. It is the hope of most that this conflict will be resolved before it embroils the citizens of Aleris in a needless blood bath.

But, whatever comes…

I’ll be watching.
