He wasn't sure if his words would have the effect he hoped they would on the shifter, but he felt a bit better just having gotten them out. Now he only hoped that he hadn't angered her enough to kill him in his sleep.

"I was not telling you lies, I thought you knew I kept secrets from you."

The Angel returned her son's puzzled looked, only the expression in her eyes took on a distance. She was looking at him, yet, briefly seeing something or someone else. Her brows wrinkled as she blinked from the vision.

And she heard herself softly laughing with shallow breath and stood up from her seat at the kitchen board as she shifted her infant in arms.

"You..." she murmured to her son, shaking her head a moment as she cast her gaze upon Moon thoughtfully before turning back to Verial to continue.

"Someone else spoke these same words to me once. And for a moment it was not you I heard but the tongue of another."

She muttered for a few long moments to herself, passing the small gathering as she paced, rocking the baby slowly, gently.

"Very well my Son, keep your secrets. But I would ask you, since you have taken the tea, and you have read of my book, will you not take up the gray robes and humble yourself as a student unto The Teacher? Will you not honor your mother in this her request?"

Before Verial could answer, a gray robe was cast upon His body, simple with no outstanding embellishments and girded at the waist by a corded tie. Her smile turned then to Moon and softly purred...

"Dragons and their secrets."

~Some time after~

Sorvynia entertained the curiosity and questions of the Faery child, smiling at the endearing greeting and Feary blessing her Parable received. "Mmmhmm" she nodded. "That is very sweet of you to say my little faery queen."

The Angel took careful note, watching how Ita looked at Moon with subtle uncertainty. It was a hard thing to explain such matters to a child. She could sense the questions Ita was too shy to ask. Sooner or later, it would need explaining. She leaned down in Ita's ear, drawing her close into an affectionate hug at her side. "Moon is Parable's Papa my darling." She paused a moment, then continued. " I am your Papa's wife, but I am also companion to Moon and a Priestess within His Order. My choice to keep two mates is mine alone. Do you understand a bit better now?" Sorvynia kissed Ita's soft, white, wispy hair then." But yes, to answer your spoken question, you are a Faery Queen little one, it is fated for you to return to your realm one day and raise up your court once again. You have many children awaiting their time."

A fine-tipped quill and pot of ink are useless to me, if the tablets of my heart are not well soaked by the well of inspiration.

A few moments passed in silence for the young Faery Queen as she pondered all of the things she heard among the adults. Some things just took some time to understand. She perched herself on the footstool near her Ma and paid the utmost attention to her newest sister. Her brow knitted in thought as she puzzled out her Ma's whispered words. "So...does that mean I could have two men I love when I'm older? Does every lady have two men?" She was still too young to go hang out in tavern, but she remembered going to the one tavern sometimes. She definitely needed more children to play with!

"Ummm...ok. Does this mean I call him Papa too...or just Moon?" came her soft whisper. She was still somewhat unsure, because she had chosen Bansca as her papa, and Sorvynia as her mother.

There was so much to learn about the ways of Humans and other races! How would she ever remember it all?! Listening to Parable coo, she smiled and made her wings buzz. Children loved faery lullabies! More 'Dust'...-everywhere-! Folks were going to need a bath, but even the tub was glittery and sparkly. You could -not- escape glitter in this house no matter what you tried.

Well...maybe a protective shield would work, but that took energy to keep up all the time. She simply tried to let it get in other people's eyes.

"Mama...do you think I could hold my new sister? I'll be -very- careful, I promise." Peeked over at Kyrian, grinning, then looked back to her Ma, waiting to see what she'd say.

"I wouldn't wanna leave you and Papa behind. I couldn't..." She couldn't leave Kyrian behind either and if he were paying attention, her secret was out! She was destined to be a Queen someday. "I hope I'm a good mama l like you then..I don't wanna be a mean one." She didn't want to turn evil like Noir.

Children ask such innocent, yet difficult questions at times.

The pale blue eyes of the Angel darkened to rich sapphire for but a moment, before fading back to their glass-like purity. She made room on her lap for the small faery child, nesting her infant against her chest between herself and Ita. "Come.." she softly gestured as she drew the little girl up with the aid of a great dark wing.

"The heart has so much room you know, to love so much. It is not a strange thing for your heart to love many people for many reasons."
She gently tapped Ita's chest over her heart with her finger.

"Not every lady keeps one mate, not every lady loves just one man and not every lady loves whom she joins herself with. It will be your choice when you become a woman one day my child, you will live by your heart and learn it seldom agrees with your mind. Love is neither right or wrong, it just is. You must find the direction of your own moral compass and set your heart upon it. Always remember, whatever your choices, you must bear the consequences good or bad."

She smiled and kissed the white wispy head of the little girl, closing her eyes only for her lashes to become flecked with glittering dust. She glanced over Ita's head towards Moon before answering the next question, "You may call Him Teacher and you will be a fine momma some day sweetheart."

She nodded to Ita, instructing her as to how to hold her arms before she gently shifted Parable thusly, keeping both Ita and her infant hugged close to her body. "You will never truly leave us behind, you are like the tree marked upon your palm, and we are the roots by which it holds you."

Verial dropped one of his hands and placed it on the edge of the table as if to steady himself. The tea he had drunk was having some strange effects on him, as if his mind had been invaded by some sort of virus. Though he heard his mother speaking, parts of her voice were muffled and the image of her face was becoming hazy. At the mention of his words being spoken in the past by someone else, he tried to remain curious despite the state the tea had put him in.

"What? Who...?" Verial asked, though he was perhaps not concerned anymore. He only hoped it was not his father Sorvynia had thought of.

He blinked his odd colored eyes a few times; Verial closed his eyelids tightly then slowly reopened them, but at long last he gathered he was going to be pulled elsewhere. He did not have time to properly answer Sorvynia's questions about him becoming a student of the Teacher. His shoulders became heavy with the weight of a gray cloak and as it was drawn over him, he had just enough time to hear his mother say, "Dragons and their secrets," before he slipped away.

When Verial next opened his eyes, the world had become cold and frigid. As far as the eye could see, there was white and gray. Wind lifted and pushed snow into the air, swirling with fury and howling like an angered banshee. Verial was standing on ground that was perhaps frozen solid, but besides that he could had no inclination of where he was.

For a while he was able to feel the harsh and frozen snow on his cheeks. His face began to grow numb, but before he allowed any sort of frost bite take over his body, he reminded himself this was only another dream – an illusion. And though there was definitely still lots of snow, Verial suddenly became warm because of his prior thoughts.

"Where am I?" Verial called out, his voice lost with the winds.
