I've got a pretty nice update for Aleris that I would like you all to know about. Over the past few days I worked on merging the character profiles on Aleris' website to your forum accounts! As an example, you can see the new character profile in action by clicking here memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=58 or on any member's name.
Q: Well, what does this mean for me?
A: First of all, you will only have to register once. No more registering for both the forum and your character on the Aleris website. And secondly, you are now able to update certain areas of your character profile without having to submit an update form!
Q: How and what can I update?
A: Updating your character profile is easy. Login to the form, click on "User Control Panel", then "Profile" and you should be taken to the "Edit Profile" page. On this page you will find the following items that you can customize on your own:
- Age
- Race
- Origin
- Religion
- Physical Features
- Background
All other areas will need to be updated by a GM. To do this, for now please send a forum PM to any one of our GM Staff members and we should be able to get those details updated for you.
Q: What happened to all my character stats and information that was on the Aleris website?
A: I have taken care to transfer all details for every character that was registered on the Aleris website to their forum profile. So any details you may have had on the Aleris' website were transferred to your forum profile. If you think something is missing, that probably means you never registered your character via the website.
Q: What happens when I want to register a new character?
A: When registering a new character, you will be asked to fill in character details via the forum the same way as if you had registered your character on the Aleris website.
Q: I just submitted the character update sheet on the website.
A: Your updated details should be on your forum profile, but if not, please be patient until we get to the update.
Q: Can I change my character's name to reflect my new profile?
A: Absolutely. Send one of the GMs a PM with your new name request. Keep in mind that any name changes will also change the name of the account you login with. For example, say your forum account is "Funky Chicken" and you want to rename it to "Funky Octopus", you will login with "Funky Octopus" for now on.
As part of this update, I also did a little house cleaning. As soon as I get home, the character profiles will be removed from the Aleris website, since everything is on the forum now. I will keep the older profiles on my computer for reference if you think I missed something. There were also several people who had registered their characters for the website, but never got a forum account. If you wish to sign these characters up on the forum later, please let me know so I can update your profile accordingly on the forum.

In addition, when I was going through the forum, there were several accounts which singed up ages ago, were never used and have now been deleted. There were never any posts on these accounts and the characters were never registered on the website either. If you would like these accounts back, you can re-sign up with the same name. Just remember there is email validation involved, so you need to have a working one.
