Doubly surprising considering she was a vampire succubus and he a satyr but, there it was. The supernatural version of Milo and Otis.

Just as Brina had felt the magic - the energy - of another Fae close by, Wish, despite her injuries was able to feel the warm red and gold light that filtered from Brina's staff and protected the two women from any further advances by the demon. Her eyelids fluttered open rapidly and she slowly turned her head to try and see what was going on. However, even if Brina's presence had made her aware of another Fae about, Wish was still confused as to her current situation and knew pain still flowed throughout her body. Was she dead? Was she going to die? Where was the demon?

And the mysterious Fae who she rushed in to her aide was not alone. Alongside of her stood a robed man who had a sword drawn. Together, the two stood in the middle between Wish and her assailant. Her visitors did not flinch or back away from the demon; instead they stood their ground, on the defensive and ready to act should the demon try anything else.

The other Fae and the man spoke, but Wish could barely recognize their words. Their voices were almost muddled, as if their speech was being suffocated by a pillow and straining to understand only proved to further bring pain to Wish's head. She clenched her eyes tight for a few seconds and in this blackness, she heard the demon speak, the voice involuntarily making her shudder.

The demon talked for a while and Wish found herself hopelessly wondering if the beast was actually working with the two who surrounded her. She found herself thinking, Go away, go away, repeatedly as if the chant in her mind would actually work. Then at long last, she heard the heavy footsteps of the demon heading towards the door. He was leaving? Wish wrenched her eyelids open, her olive green eyes peering towards the door with much effort. The demon was going away from Foresight's... and he was now a naked man...? Boy, she had sure missed a lot.

Wish felt the blood from her forehead running onto her cheeks and wanted so badly to wipe it away and clean herself off, but her arms would just not allow her too. For the most part, her body resolved not to work with her or move and she was sure one of her legs had been broken in the fall down the stairs. Instead, she just felt terrible aches and pains running throughout her body, the only unwelcoming sign that made her realize she was still alive.

While Israfil would start to exit Foresight's, the panic in Wish's head had escalated. Who were these people near her? What if they wanted to kill her also? Was there a market for Fae blood in Aleris, because the demon seemed damn intent on draining hers. Nevertheless, she found her cracked and bruised lips parting, a mere whimper of a plea coming from them.

"Please, don't... leave me..."

Why were demons always so chatty? So often they had some clever little witticism to share and just as often felt the need to defend their actions, as if they were the wronged ones. If the demons words were to be believed she would readily admit that the girls who had summoned him were damn fools but that would not keep her from defending them had they survived and she would stand firm in her defense of Wish. She didn’t need to look for Alexien to know his location, she could sense his presence as he circled around the barrier she’d placed to confront the demon.

And just as with many of the other demons and things that go bump in the night that they’d confronted over the years, this one decided to retreat from the fight, likely as he was without reinforcements and bare arsed. Hard as stone peridot hued eyes watched the demon back towards the door, alert and ready for possible attack. He was wise to be; she could sense Alexien tensing to give chase. With the removal of his white collar she knew his mindset had shifted to that of hunter and he would be prepared to hunt the demon down until he could end its miserable existence.

Now was not the time for that though. They knew nothing of the layout of the streets of Grand City nor what awaited them outside the door. For all they knew this demon had allies a block away just waiting to separate them; or waiting for Brina to be left alone with Wish, and thus, vulnerable for that matter. It wasn’t that she feared what might be watching them, lying in wait, but she was wasn’t a fool and Wish was already injured. The demon neared the door and Alexien tensed as if to follow him.

”Nay Lexi! Wait…not now. We’ll find him later and send him back tae hell but we’re needed here now.”

The whispered plea of the injured fae to not leave her reached Brina’s ears and turning she saw that she had regained consciousness. Kneeling slowly next to the girl she lowered the staff until it lay lengthwise on the floor at her side, the barrier still in place though it did settle into the wood of the floor to create a protective circle, one that would quickly flare back to life should the demon change course and head back in their direction.

Warily she kept an eye on the demon and Alexien while turning her attention to Wish. Reaching out her left hand she brushed the hair gently from Wish’s face, the brogue in her voice becoming more pronounced as she spoke gently in an attempt to reassure her that she was safe with them.

”Dinna fret yeself..ye’re safe with us. My name is Brina Kincade, that be me husband Father Alexien. The demon willna harm ye while we’re here. I’m a healer…if ye dinna mind I will check ye over miss…?”

Well versed in helping attack victims cope with the aftermath she kept her voice soft and gentle, the lilting brogue soothing in its tone. As she spoke she pulled the leather bag she kept tied about her waist around the front so she could begin rifling through its contents. First things first, several rags were pulled free and without moving too quickly so as to keep Wish calm she began wiping the blood from her face as she asked the girls name.

And all the while she remained aware of the location of the demon and Alexien, determined to stop her husband should he try to run off after the Six. They were safe within her barrier but it wasn’t them she was worried about. Glancing back to Wish she offered her a soft smile as she used her free hand to withdraw several more items from her sack.

”Dinna fret, we’ll have ye fixed up in no time.”

It was always the same. The feeling that everything around you slowed down to a crawl, but you yourself kept speed. Every sense was at its peak, things you hadn't seen became obvious, sounds all around you -- even those beyond where you were rang out in your ears. The smells that had been so subtle before now filled the nostrils. He could see the demon in its new flesh but he saw much more than that. He saw muscle and he saw tendons. The nudity of the enemy betrayed more than just the flesh it showed. And when the demon spoke the words he used explained things that the ordinary person might not have noticed. However, Brina and he were far from ordinary.

Three girls had imprisoned him in a circle. So the demon was a summoning. It could be imprisoned -- necessary information. Then it went on to say it was repaying a debt, which meant that this kill was justified. But it also meant that the demon was not a free-walker. It was still bound by the guidelines of the Inferno. That made it predictable even with all the chaos that spawned it. Every instinct told him to end this now while the demon had just rebirthed, while it was still weak. Brina though, she was always the one to think beyond the immediate in high paced situations. His hand tightened around the hilt of his blade as his eyes kept focused on the demon as it proceeded for the door. There were thoughts and emotions raging inside him, things brought out by duty and training but also determination and an ideal of righteousness. Somehow he was able to keep his face a stern but placid mask, offering no more movement than the occasional blink and tensing of his jaw. And then the demon stepped outside. Alexien moved to the doorway and stabbed his blade into the wood just inside the threshold.

He lowered his right hand to 1 of the edges of the sword and sliced his palm open on the metal. As the blood ran down he brought the open flesh to the threshold and ran his blood across it. "Spiritui sancto, exilium everto et fidelis militis." There was no visual change when he spoke the words but the blood became both a ward and a barrier. With it in place any evil presence born of Hell would be unable to enter through any direct portal, and it would also alert if something used less conventional means to try and enter. The priest stood while his eyes kept on the demon as it walked away from the shop. Though he didn't move to give chase he did call out to it in a voice both composed yet carrying a tremendous deal of weight to it. "You have collected your debt..next time we see one another, I will collect mine. Ite cum deo, everto."

With his bleeding hand he traced a small cross in the air . It wasn't a blessing but an act of penance. Penance for what he intended to do the next time the demon and he crossed paths. Pulling the sword from the floor he sheathed it behind him and moved first to the dead girl. Kneeling down beside her he brought his left hand up over her eyes and eased them closed. His thumb traced a cross upon her forehead and he spoke solumnly. "Grassor abeo deo, puella. Gloria patri et filio et spiritui sancto." After last rights were given he inspected her clothing, searching for any clues or information there was to gain. Once he'd checked her over he stood and moved over to where Brina knelt by wish. There was no need to ask if the girl was alright, Brina's ability as a healer was second to none and he knew that if anyone could save the shop keeper it would be his wife

Adrenaline was still running fast through his veins and his heartbeat was like a hammered anvil in his chest. His breathing stayed slow and rhythmic the entire time as he looked from Brina's hands to Wish's face. The girl seemed semi-conscious and from where he stood over her he smiled, lowering down so she need not strain to see him.

"You're in good hands, ma'am. We'll take care of this. And when you're able...we can speak. Rest for now."

Pushing to stand up once more he moved back to the body of the dead girl and took it under the arms. He carefully laid her out upon the rug and pulled the table cloth from beside him to drape it over her. She must have family, friends, someone who would want her body or to pay their respects. With her body covered he scooped it up from the floor and carried her outside the shop. The body was laid upon the ground before the doorway and he looked up to stop the first person that happened by. He told them to find a soldier and bring them here to retrieve the corpse. The woman nodded quickly and hurried off to do just that, and he moved back inside the shop. "Someone will be here to retrieve the body soon. They may have questions..questions we're not able to answer. If she's stable enough to be moved we should leave now."

Alexien's chanting made her ill at ease at first. Wish had no inkling of what he was doing, if he was summoning more demons or sending her wounded body off to another world. In her current state of mind, anything was possible and there was nothing she could do to fight anyone off. As she lay on the floor of Foresight's, her olive colored eyes searched the room frantically for a way out if need be, as if she could have even used that escape if she found one. However, once Brina's comforting voice had reassured her confused and panicked thoughts that she was not going to die, Wish was able to utter a sigh of relief.

"Dinna fret, we'll have ye fixed up in no time."

So Brina was a healer, just like herself, and that thought put her at rest even more. Wish watched Brina's actions as the Fae woman tended her wounds. Should Brina try anything - anything out of the ordinary - Wish would know. She was knowledgeable in other methods of healing besides just magical ones, so should Brina try to fool her with fake remedies, Wish would hopefully be able to spot it.

She did not know why she had become so desperate throughout the whole ordeal. Wish had been in many similar situations; she had faced death and been wounded countless times and her courage throughout those had been strong. But this time, starting with EmmaLeigh's appearance, she had just lost all strength it seemed, as if the demon's presence sapped it away from her. Wish found herself, despite knowing that EmmaLeigh's dead body was nearby, despising that the girl had ever came here in the first place. Here's hoping for a peaceful life in Aleris, Wish thought dismally to herself.

When Alexien's face hovered above her, she turned her head to look into his eyes, her attention now diverted from Brina's quick and precise healing work. This time, she understood what he was saying and knew that neither he nor Brina were here to harm her; they were here to help. Wish relaxed and she found a bit of strength in her body renewed though pain still ran throughout her legs.

"Thank you," Wish finally murmured nodding her head first to Alexien then to Brina. "Whoever recovers EmmaLeigh's body... will have to burn it. Otherwise..." Wish bit her lip momentarily here trying to hide a moan from a wave of pain, "the demon may be able to use it as catalyst to bring... some of his friends back."

Did demons even have friends? All Wish knew was that EmmaLeigh and her friends had messed with an ancient and powerful magic; that they had somehow sealed their souls with Six and the demonic world. Now that Six had killed all three girls, he was free to use their bodies as he pleased. The girls could be used a gateway for other demons if Six decided to do so.

At Alexien's mention of leaving Foresight's, Wish closed her eyelids tightly and focused. How was she going to move? She believed it was best that they all did leave the shop for a while, but she didn't know how she could. One of her legs was clearly broken, and while she may be able to limp around on the other, her wings were temporarily rendered useless also. Splinters and shards of wood has sliced through them from Six's frenzy on the balcony. While her wings usually healed fast, it would take some time.

"Aye, I can try to move," Wish started slowly, "but I will need help... again."

Wish was wary of them, that was clear to Brina, and with good reason. Though they had driven off Six and kept Wish alive she still knew nothing of them and had been seriously injured. It was only natural that she be on guard no matter who they were. In time she began to ease, though, once she was assured that Brina and Alexien were not there to harm her. She listened with only half an ear as Alexien and Wish spoke of EmmaLeigh’s remains and how they should be handled, her attention focused on healing the injured fae’s wounds.

The small brown leather sack she’d pulled from her waist was opened on the floor in front of her and items were being pulled from it as quickly as her hands would allow. Several chrysoprase stones were gathered and gently set over the worst of the immediately visible wounds. A rare form of chalcedony in the hands of a human healer it was used to speed the healing of wounds but in the hands of a woman like Brina the moment they touched the other fae’s skin a warmth would be felt emitting from the pale green stones, the healing energy transferring with a speed no fully mortal healer could achieve.

Once the stones were doing their work she again delved into her sack, a small tin the next item to be withdrawn. Removing the lid a green salve was revealed within, the pungent odor of herbs and beeswax filling the room as Brina dipped her fingers into the mixture and gently began to spread the ointment made of comfrey, lavender, and calendula on the tears and abrasions on Wish’s wings. The mixture was designed to prevent any risk of infection or inflammation as well as to speed the healing of the wounds themselves.

As with the stones the effect of the herbal salve was almost immediate. Rather than taking several applications over a period of time to do their job the healing began almost immediately and though it wasn’t an instantaneous healing process it would make Wish’s recovery time much shorter and would help to ease her pain almost instantly. As she worked she hummed a soft melody beneath her breath, occasionally singing softly in a language long forgotten on earth, the song itself an incantation meant to transfer healing energy.

Wish’s concerns about burning the body drew her attention away from her patient and her gaze met her husband’s. Demons were his area of expertise and though she had her own share of knowledge about them having fought them at his side for years she still deferred to his judgment regarding them. The healing had already begun but Wish would still need help to leave the damaged fortune telling boutique and just as she thought it Wish expressed the same concern, stating she would need help. Meeting Wish’s gaze she smiled gently in an attempt to reassure her.

”We’ll nae leave ye here defenseless, lass. We’ll make sure ye get home safely. Do ye having lodgings? We’ll find ye some if ye need and w willna leave ye alone and injured.”

She spoke the truth, they would not leave Wish there alone to face a potential enemy when injured as she was. They also would not leave her alone while she healed. Though they hadn’t discussed it she knew Alexien would feel the same. Even if it meant taking Wish into their own home. She’d sensed no animosity from the other fae woman and knew she would have if Wish held any ill will towards them. Besides..this was who they were.

Wish's concerns were quite valid. A corpse had no will left to resist, no consciousness to manipulate, it was an empty vessel. Since the girls body had already been linked to the demon through the summons used to bring it it was already primed for that same demon to possess once more, or another to take up residence in. Fortunately he was aware of this and knew what had to be done. His eyes met those of his wife before he spoke.

"I'll take care of the remains. We need to leave this place. Anything you might need can be claimed later. For now..." The sound of heavy boots and a quick pace could be heard approaching down the street in the direction of the shop. Soldiers were approaching. The priest took a deep breath and reached inside his cassock, removing a flask. After unscrewing the top he poured some of the liquid inside between his lips. Swishing it around a few seconds he then spat it out in a misty spray down each of his sleeves and upon the chest of his cassock. "..we have to get moving. Say nothing, I'll take care of this." Another swig was taken only this one he swallowed before capping the flask and putting it away. The strap of his sword was undone and he laid it upon a nearby table top before turning towards the door. He moved to just before the threshold, waiting for the right moment to grab the wall and come swinging outside the door, his body colliding with that of the two soldiers. The men quickly pushed away from him and put their hands to their blade hilts, their eyes shifting between the man in front of them and the shrouded body behind him.

Alexien stumbled back a step or two, still between the men and their being able to see inside or enter the shop. He put on his best face of drunken surprise before he spoke. "Oh..thank the lord you've come! This girl has to be given a proper burial. I was coming down the street when I saw the poor soul slumped dead in the doorway. I covered her with a cloth I found inside and told a passer by to find you. She has to be brought to her family immediately!" The men looked confused a moment, but they could smell the alcohol on him. Just some drunk priest getting in their way, they went to move passed him, putting their hands to his chest and speaking.

"Sir. Before we move anything we have to look over the shop. The woman said she saw you come out with the body, so we..need to have a look inside. Step aside." Alexien's hands reached out and took the outer shoulder of both men. "This girl has died and you refuse to bring her body to her family...because you must enter a shop? What dark times do we live in?! One day you two men shall breath your last, and on that day you will need to stand before your maker and confess your sins! And what will your creator think when you tell them that instead of saving the soul of one of its children you left her to dwell in oblivion so that you could go inside a shop and make certain all the books were still in ALPHABETICAL ORDER?!" The men paused in their attempt to move forward, looking to one another and then the priest.

"Sir. W..we didn't intend t.." Alexien pushed on their shoulders and widened his seemingly drunk gaze at them. "The road to eternal damnation is paved with good intentions! On your day of judgment what you did or did not intend to do will be shadowed by that which you've done and have NOT DONE! And what will it say of your faith..of your worth as men that you chose to leave this girls body laid out for all to see rather than bring her to her family?! Look, Good people! The protectors of these lands will not even protect the soul of one of their OWN!" People who were walking by began to look, and the guards who now had all that attention upon them looked to one another once more before they nodded. "Alright. We'll take her body. Just please stop shouting."

The priest smiled and reached down, shaking each mans hand individually. "Oh bless you both. You are certainly men of virtue. This young girls family will thank you. Her soul will be at peace because of your quick actions. Just allow me to give her last rites before you take her." He moved to the girls body and knelt down, opening the shroud slightly but hiding all that was to be seen with his own body as he knelt between it and the guards line of sight. He began muttering some altruistic sounding words, but truthfully he carefully eased his hand into his cassock and from a pocket he withdrew a small glass vial. Pushing the top off with his thumb he poured the contents into the girls mouth. The contents were seen to be ashes, and when they hit the girls tongue they faded away while he slid the vial away. Closing the girls mouth he pulled the shroud back in place and stood, staggering so that he had to lean against the wall just beside the door for support.

"I've done all I can for her, the rest is in Gods hands. You may take her...and God be with you fine men." The guards moved quickly in scooping the girl up from the porch and began moving down the street towards the carriage they'd used to come. Alexien watched as they loaded the body into it and were quick to race off down the street. Once they were completely out of sight he again steadied himself and moved back into the shop. His eyes immediately looked to his wife and the fae as he dusted off his cassock, trying to remove the scent of whiskey as best he could. He then walked to where Wish was laying and knelt slightly "We're going to have to move you now. They will return shortly and we cannot be here. Are you ready?" Shifting his eyes from Wish to his wife, he spoke the question to them both. After all if Brina hadn't yet done all she could do it may be harmful to move the girl. Hopefully she was as expedient as he knew her to be.

Wish had come to Aleris with very little to start with, so gathering her things was not an issue. Her real concern was getting up, or just moving in general, and the thought involuntarily made her wince in response. However moments after Brina had smoothed a soothing mixture of herbs and wax onto Wish's wings, she felt them respond and was positive, despite the fact that they felt heavier with the healing solvent, that she could use her wings for proper balance.

As Alexien brought soldiers to Foresight's for EmmaLeigh's body, Wish readied herself to get up. She listened quietly to Alexien's charade as she slowly started to push off the dusty floor with Brina's help. Wish was thankful that the soldiers had stayed outside the door of Foresight's and she tried to make as little sounds as possible while moving. Though it hurt, she stifled any cry behind tightly closed lips, careful that she didn't draw the soldiers' attention to the other living residents inside the building. She wasn't in the mood for questioning.

Alexien was convincing enough though, and the soldiers carried EmmaLeigh's body away in a carriage without so much as stepping a foot into the fortune teller's shop. For a moment, Wish turned her olive colored eyes towards the door, watching from the shadows as they took the young girl's body away and hoped the right thing would be done with EmmaLeigh. Wish hoped the body would be properly burned as to not be used as a vessel by any more demons.

Finally, Wish turned back to Brina as Alexien now free from the soldiers' questions was making his way towards the two women. "Nay, no lodgings. I had been staying here. We can camp outside the city near Aurora's temple. I think it would be safer if we are closer to there anyway, and I do not mind the forest," Wish said. "I am ready though. Let's make our way there."

Wish grabbed a pack that was behind a desk, and draping an arm both over Alexien and Brina, the three of them headed out of Foresight's hoping not to be seen by anyone, let alone hunted by demons.
