The business of the Infernal was always personal. Even when his grandfather instructed him to venture to the surface and reclaim and escaped demon, somehow he always made it personal. It was a way of focusing himself completely upon a specific target and acquiring it much easier. Things were always easier when he had a stake in them, otherwise he risked being indifferent and not offering it the proper attention. However, in the case of one specific demon..he need not create some imaginary reason for it to be personal. It was already personal. He just hadn’t had a reason to apprehend that particular demon -- not until now.
It all began with Najia entering his chamber one cool autumn evening. Normally she came in seeking physical satisfaction first, then made him confirm and he confirm that she was still his first over Sarine. On that night though she came in with a look to her eyes that told him she had something upon her mind. Something that he would’ve inquired about had he not desired her flesh as much as he did. Only after several hours of enforcing his passionate dominance over her body did she even speak. And what she had to say interested him greatly.
”What if I asked you to…kill Morlis? Would you do it? For me?”
That started things. At first he thought she was simply toying with him. Her sense of humor like his own was..abstract at best. But after a few minutes of conversation he came to realize no, she was not kidding. She was quite genuine. It was like a chorus of the most beautiful music to his ears. The only reason he hadn’t dispatched Morlis long ago was -because- he owned many of those who were of his family, and for their sake he left the incubus alone. Besides..Morlis had assisted him in acquiring things for a short while. Be that as it may though..Morlis betrayed him. That was more than enough to warrant death. Another demon had beaten Morlis but that was not nearly enough..not for him.
So they conversed, she asked repeatedly, and while he never said yes..he didn’t actually say no either. When she finally left his chambers it was with a glance over her shoulder asking that he at least think upon it and come to a conclusion later. Truth be told he had already decided what he was going to do, he only wanted no one to know of it..not even the devious little demon that requested it of him. But already the wheels in his mind were turning, and by dawn he would have a plan. By dawn all would be realized.
Dawn came and when the sun broke just over the horizon its light entered the window of his chambers to shine upon an empty bed. He had left his fortress for destinations unknown -- unknown to all but himself. There was no end to the number of places he could go, but there was only one that he wished to be and that was inside Morlis’ Italian estate. More specifically..the incubus’ suite.
He arrived moments before dawn to find Morlis asleep, his arm curled tightly around Tessa’s shoulders as their nude bodies embraced one another. For a time he stood at the foot of their bed having emerged from the hearth on the wall. He said nothing, he didn’t move an inch, he just stared at them intently with his golden eyes. Beneath his bronze colored flesh it looked as though dozens of serpents slithered and writhed, as if trying to break free but never being able. In that death glare of his he allowed his ire to build, his lament to grow and consume him. They were both weak. Undeserving to call themselves demons. They lived off of others like parasites. Insects that had scurried and hidden in the darkness long enough.
Tessa was the first to awaken. Her eyes blinking softly as she raised to stretch. When her eyes met him they widened in horror and she went to speak, but as his glare intensified she cowered and was unable to make a sound. However, he did not keep silent.
”Wake him.”
With a trembling hand she reached out to Morlis and began shaking his shoulder, her eyes never moving from Stativare’s person as she did so. In moments Morlis was stirring, and obviously he thought she was awakening him for more intimacy because as his eyes opened he smiled.
”Mmm..ready for more already, love? Let m..Tessa? What’s wrong?”
She raised her shaky right hand and pointed, Morlis’ eyes following her movement as he too finally saw Stativare standing at the foot of their bed. Quickly he slid his feet to the floor and stood up, but he did not advance. His face a mixture of confusion and concern.
S..Stativare? What is the meaning of this? What are you doing here in my home? We have no business..not any longer.”
Stativare tilted his head and took a single step forward, raising his right hand and running it slowly along the corner post of the bed frame, his eyes moving from Morlis, to Tessa, to the bed post. ”That isn’t true, Morlis. Our business was never finished..it was merely put on hold for the duration of a mutually beneficial arrangement. But now, you no longer benefit me. Your worth to me is null and we have other matters to attend to now.”
Morlis’ seemed quite on edge as his eyes moved between Stativare and Tessa, unsure as to what was going on and what Stativare meant by ‘other matters’. ”What are you talking about? What matters? What do you want?”
Stativare grinned subtly and it faded quickly, and when it did his eyes raised back to Morlis. ”What I want…what I will have, are you and yours.” That was the last thing Morlis would hear, or see of their conversation. After Stativare’s words were spoken Morlis would see him lunge forward and then everything went black. Perhaps he was able to hear Tessa’s scream before he lost consciousness. Perhaps not.
When Morlis finally came to he would find himself bound with shackles too thick for even his demonic strength to break, laid out upon a stone slab. His wrists and ankles were bound and he was as nude as he had been before. The only part of his body he was able to move was his head, and if he turned it to the left he would see an unconscious Tessa laying upon a similar stone table, chained just as he was. She was restrained about 2ft from him, within arms reach even..but he was unable to touch her. A lantern swung in the air about 8ft above them lighting only a small area where they were. The rest of..wherever they were was pitch black. Normally a demon had the ability to see in the darkness but for some reason this blackness could not be seen through, not with his eyes.
”Tessa?! Tessa?! Wake up love! You’ve got to wake up!”
The imp stirred and groaned until her eyes finally opened. She seemed groggy for a second or so until she tried to move her arms and found them chained. Quickly her head jerked and she eyed the chains, the stone slabs, and began to weep. She struggled almost painfully with her restraints, babbling incoherently. Morlis saw her panic and spoke out to try and ease her. ”Tessa! Calm down! We’re going to be alright. Do you remember what happened? Do you know where we are?”
She continued to struggle but answered him as best she could, jerking at the chains and thrashing her small body left to right. ”He took us! The Lord took us! He knocked you unconscious and bound you, then me. He is going to kill us! No mercy, no compassion, no forgiveness! We are going to die..Morlis!” Morlis growled and struggled but he shook his head. ”No! We are going to get out of here Tessa! We are not going to die! If I can give him something he wants..we wil..”
Just then Stativare seemed to emerge from thin air as he stepped out of the darkness. He was clad in only a pair of dark brown leather pants and his boots. His shirt and cloak were nowhere to be seen. ”Morlis. It is not becoming to lie. Especially to a loved one. You have nothing I want, at least nothing that I am not already prepared to take. She is correct. You and she will die..but before then you both will suffer. You for your betrayal of me. Betrayal in not keeping better control over Talisy. And for showing such an overall lack of necessity towards the lovely young demons of your family. As for Tessa..she chose the wrong incubus to become infatuated with. Thus she is guilty by association.”
Stativare moved forward and while his swords were not around his hips there was in fact a belt with 4 sheaths upon it. Each one held a black handled knife within it. Morlis saw those weapons and continued struggling, thrashing as Tessa did. ”This is insane Stativare! I didn’t know Talisy had taken her! I had no part in it! And Tessa..she is an innocent. It is against the Laws of Hell for innocents to be taken! If you have issue..let it be with me. Not here. Please.” The Infernal paused at the foot of Morlis’ slab and looked upon him, having expected such pathetic attempts at chivalry and selflessness. The look to his face was one of mild amusement and disgust.
”Listen to yourself. Begging. What kind of demon are you? How you gained the favor of so many women being as spineless as you are I will never know. Apparently standards have lessened since my time began. You should be grateful that I am here. Here to put an end to your sorry existence. Here to remove your sniveling weakness from the face of the world. There are enough cowardly fools..we need no more.” He moved from the foot of Morlis’ slab and circled around to the top of it. Morlis looked up to him with scorn, and yelled out in anger and fear. What he said did not matter. All that mattered was what was going to befall him.
1 of the blades was removed from its sheath as he stood over Morlis head on the slab. ”First things first, incubus. I do not want you to miss anything…” Holding the knife in 1 hand his other raised up above Morlis’ face. He used his thumb and index finger to pin the flesh of Morlis’ eyelid between them and then pull it up enough to stretch it. ”ANYTHING!” The blade was used to slice through the thin tissue of Morlis’ eyelid, cutting it cleanly and completely off until the skin was tossed to the floor behind him. The shouts of the incubus seemed to fall on deaf ears, as well as Tessa’s pleas that he stop. Because soon the 2nd eyelid was pinched in the same manner and it too was sliced off of Morlis’ body, blood now running down the incubus’ skin as he yelled out..obviously in pain.
”YOU FUCK! I WILL KILL YOU! I SWEAR I WILL! GOD DAMN IT! AAAARGH!” More struggling, more screaming, but none of it meant anything. Already Stativare was walking from Morlis’ slab to Tessa’s, eyeing her nude body and tilting his head with a smile. His free hand reached out and his fingertips caressed her bare skin, running from her neck down. He cupped her large breasts and gave them each a tender squeeze before continuing down her flesh. ”Mmm remember the times we used to have? How loud you used to scream for me? They were enjoyable times…”
Tessa nodded frantically while Morlis hollered behind him, shouting her name and all kinds of things to try and take Stativare’s attention off of her. She spoke in response to Stativare. ”Y..yes they were, l..lord. W..we can have them again. I will come back t..to you if you just..r..release me. I will serve you happily. Please!” Stativare laughed softly before his hand fell away from Tessa’s skin and he glanced over his shoulder towards Morlis. ”This is what shall happen when you fall in love with an imp. They are incapable of love. Being completely self-interested they know only self-satisfaction and self-preservation. But do not worry..I will save you the pain of seeing her become mine again. You may thank me after.”
Looking back to Tessa he raised the first knife while unsheathing a second. His back was to Morlis so that he could not see anything, but he certainly could hear. ”Lord..no! Please! Don’t! Oh..Morlis! Help me! Help maaaAAAHHHHHH!!” Morlis thrashed harder than ever, screaming out her name as his eyes started to tear..both from rage and sheer emotional pain. What he could see of Tessa was her eyes widen and her mouth a gape, only her screaming had stopped. She gagged and stammered, seeming to choke then cough..blood spraying up from her mouth and coating her face as her every muscle tensed. Her eyes stared in horror at Stativare then her head turned as she looked to Morlis. Blood poured from her mouth as she continued to gag, continued to choke, trying to speak but unable to make a sound through all the blood and pain.
”Oh..well. What isn’t that interesting. My timing is impeccable.” Tessa’s head raised back up, and though Morlis couldn’t see..what he saw on Tessa’s face was sheer anguish. Tears filled her eyes and streamed along her face as it slumped back down to the stone slab. Morlis grit his teeth, blood pouring down his slashed eyelids as he spoke venomously, screaming Tessa’s name and weeping..weeping as she had been. ”Now now Morlis. Is that any way to talk around a child?” Stativare turned around, and what was revealed to Morlis then caused his eyes to widen and any sound he’d been making to catch in his throat. He seemed to gag a few times before his mouth opened wide and he threw up violently upon the stone slab, his arm, and soon the floor.
A fetus was held upon the end of 1 of his knives, perhaps the size of a small animal. It was formed enough to have limbs, fingers and toes but not yet fully developed. As for Tessa. She had been sliced open from between those large breasts of hers all the way down to her cunt. The flesh had been cut in a way that let him ease the flesh open like blanket. Her lungs had been cut into and opened the same way her skin was. Her stomach had been cut out of her and he’d laid it atop her rib cage. It was only then he’d found the child and cut it from inside her, slicing into the placenta and severing the umbilical cord with a surgeons precision only to stab it through with a knife and pull it out. As Morlis vomited Tessa laid fairly motionless but her eyes blinked occasionally. She was a demon after all so she could endure more than any human.
Morlis wept as he looked at the fetus and Tessa, no longer struggling..only able to indulge in the ungodly amount of emotional pain now flowing through him. Stativare however, he eyed the vomit and tilted his head. ”Now that is a shame. No man should ever die with such an empty stomach. Here..allow me to help you.” The incubus was so caught up in what had happened to Tessa that he seemed not to acknowledge Stativare. At least not until the Infernal stepped back towards the slab and sheathed 1 of his knives. His free hand grabbed Morlis by the hair and jerked on it while he still wept. As for the other knife it was brought to Morlis’ lips as he forced the dead fetus into the incubus mouth. Before he could spit it out or vomit once more, Stativare released his hair and firmly clamped Morlis’ chin, forcing him to keep his mouth closed. Morlis gagged once, twice, he even vomited inside his mouth but none of it was allowed to escape. Finally he watched Morlis throat move as he swallowed it all down.
”I imagine that was quite hearty.” Morlis spat at him and growled venomously, covered in blood, viscera and vomit. By then Tessa had stopped blinking and she laid there, her eyes wide open and staring at Morlis with a dead-glare. Morlis turned his head towards her and spoke, only now all the emotion seemed to be gone from his voice. His tone sounded as if that of a broken man. ”Kill me..you bastard. Cut me apart, torture me. You cannot hurt me any more, Stativare.” The Infernal looked down to Morlis and tilted his head before raising his knife and tapping the flat of the blade against Morlis’ forehead.
”You’re right. Well..you’re partially right. You will not be hurt by me. Not because I cannot..but because I -will- not. I wouldn’t soil my hands, or my weapons with your weak life. But..there is someone who would very much enjoy the chance to be..reacquainted with you.” Reaching his free hand towards the darkness, he gestured it as if asking someone to approach him. A grey cloaked and hooded figure stepped from the darkness and stood beside him, and he began running his fingers down their head almost as if he were petting them.
”People think demons are heartless. That they hold no emotion other than rage and hate. That is not true. A demon can laugh. A demon can cry. If given the right encouragement a demon can even love..as I’m sure you know. Well…-knew- anyway. With all emotions though there is a weakness..a breaking point. When that point is reached, the emotions become all..tangled together, and the mind itself is broken. A demon is intensity. Emotion in its most pure, raw form. What were to happen to a demon driven insane? A demon who has known love, and hate, and death, only to awaken in a place that torments them for all time? What would such a thing be like? How terrifying and boundless would their loathing be? Especially if put face to face with the object of their despise?” Stativare shook his head softly as he grabbed the beings hood and began pulling it back. ”I am not sure. But..we shall both find out together, incubus.”
The hood was pulled back and the identity of the being was finally revealed. Morlis’ eyes took on a look of both shock, disbelief, and fear as he shook his head. ”No. No that’s not possible! You’re dead! YOU’RE DEAD!" Desiree looked to Morlis with wide eyes. She stepped forward and from the hooded cloak, revealing a nude body that had been gashed stitched, gashed and re-stitched all over. She lunged forward and like an animal she leapt atop Morlis body and straddled him, leaning down and biting deeply into the flesh beside his eye, tearing at it and pulling until a large piece peeled and ripped from his skull, leaving the bone visible. Her claws dug into the sides of his head and pierced the flesh, gouging deeply into it and slicing through both flesh and muscle. Morlis’ screams filled the room as did the sound of Desiree’s maniacal gnashing and gnawing.
Stativare moved into the darkness, and there was a loud sound fallowed by the drawing back of massive curtains. There was a window with no glass revealed, and beyond it laid the 7th circle. Stativare grinned and walked to the door of the room, pausing just long enough to glance over his shoulder and see Desiree holding Morlis’ head between her hands as she began to slowly push her thumbs through his eyeballs. They popped and sent the optical liquid spurting onto Desiree’s hands. Morlis was a full demon -- and he was no imp. It would take him some time to die. Stativare smiled and tilted his head.
”Welcome home, Morlis. We are so glad to have you back.”
The door to the room was opened and Stativare stepped out, hearing the screams of Morlis and the crazed, animal like sounds of Desiree until he shut the door behind him. The long spiral staircase would lead him back to the lower level of his fortress. He would have to remember to return to the tower at some point. Desiree would need to be re-bound within the 5th circle. And as for Morlis and Tessa. Where else was a dead demon to go but Hell? So if they thought their suffering complete…
…their time of horror had only just begun.
