In a surprise move King Aleris surprised the citizens of Aleris by announcing a newly forged alliance with the Ravenholm Empire of the Gateway of the Outlands. This announcement comes in the wake of a letter sent by way of the Chronicle from the Empress Ravenholm stating that Outlands will declare war on the realm of Aleris should it offer any assistance to the Redmont family faction. King Alerion states this alliance will benefit our realm but it has left many wondering if this will bring a conflict best left to the Outlands into the heart of Aleris. With the recent opening of the Outer Gateways such a conflict at this stage could turn the public sentiment regarding the Outer Gates and the immigrants who have come through them sour.
There is some speculation that this sudden alliance was a direct result of the recent theft at Elysia's Temple. A relic was stolen from the Goddess of Winter and there is concern that the loss of the relic will result in a subsequent loss of emotion among the people of Aleris. Many fear the new found emotional freedom of the citizens of Aleris will be lost and reports are already coming in of children being randomly left by their mothers for no reason, the parents in question simply wandering off as if they forgot they had a baby, as if they forgot they should care that it cried out for them.
The Goddess Elysia and King Alerion have put out a call to any who would take on the task of seeking out this holy relic and have asked that all citizens be on the watch for any suspicious activity or even rumors of a stolen artifact. If anyone has any news that may help you may seek audience with King Alerion or deliver your information to the Chronicle. The serious nature of this matter can not be stressed enough.
Aleris is growing every day as more and more people immigrate from the Outer Gates. In light of the growing needs of the realm King Alerion has put out a call for those with a desire to serve their realm. Seats on the Alerian Tribunal are officially open for any candidate who wishes to run. Any further information or inquiries can be made via the Chronicle.
Aleris could very well become the next great society or it could crumble in a matter of minutes. Much of it's success depends on the character of its citizens and their willingness to rally around their homeland in its time of need.
I ask you now Aleris. Are you up to the task?
