He wasn't sure if his words would have the effect he hoped they would on the shifter, but he felt a bit better just having gotten them out. Now he only hoped that he hadn't angered her enough to kill him in his sleep.

If you're reading this paper right now, consider yourself lucky. Myself, I'm not even sure why I took the time to make sure The Chronicle is published this month and distributed. I can only hope that the days to come will be better for all of us who live in Aleris, no matter what continent you're dwelling on.

Everything started with the strange heat wave surge. Temperatures in Aleris soared to amazing heights and the reports are that it affects people of all kinds. So any demons out there, don't think that just because you like fire and brimstone that you won't be able to feel any of this unexplainable heat. It seems to "magically" adjust to a person no matter what race you are.

Most people have been wondering what on the earth Tempesturo is doing. Is this just a game? Is someone kidnapping or holding the God of Summer hostage, forcing him to do such acts? There are no reports from his temples and it is said the sandstorms are too harsh to even travel across the deserts of Heruin now. People have, however, taken comfort with our other gods - Elysia, Aurora and Galenous. Though let's be honest everyone - they seem just as clueless about everything that is going on now. Then again, credit where credit is due, people have come to the Deities' defense and have stated the they are doing what they can to unravel this mystery.

Still, if you're looking for some spiritual guidance or someplace safe to be for now, heading to the Temples of Spring, Winter and Autumn would not be a bad idea.

On Arthuran, the snow has completely melted and the Eternal Lake is threatening to crack open. It's said that Elysia, with the help of a few others, are taking care to make sure it stays frozen. I wonder why? What lurks beneath the depths of the lake, Elysia? Won't you tell us?

If the heat and the looming threat of the Eternal Lake wasn't enough, we Alerians have been the recent recipient of vicious, damaging storms which were followed by not one - but two - tidal waves. I expect that most of you, like me, are hiding on higher ground somewhere waiting for the water to recede. And throughout all of this, the sun has come back out again and it's just as hot as it was before, maybe even hotter.

While some of you are waiting and praying for hope, there has also been a surge in the crime rate in Aleris. Some people, apparently good swimmers, are scavenging the ruins of Grand City and trying to snatch whatever they can. I hope there's a 100 foot octopus waiting under the water for you people.

Now what about other cities? If you're in Elved, smaller cities and Galenous' temple, thankfully that they were inland, suffered little or no flooding from the tidal waves. Bariston however, is flooded in the same manner as Grand City. In Eiler, Grand City is flooded, but perhaps the worst of the damage was dealt to beautiful, artisan Joi which is now completely submerged. Jade City was shielded from the mountains, receiving only a little flooding and several people are waiting patiently, hiding out inside Aurora's temple until it is safe to go outside again.

If you've made it this far, hang in there Alerians and stay strong. I can't promise the days ahead will be any better, even after the waters go back into the ocean, but I have a hunch this city won't die off that easily.
