Aleris

celebrating six years of adventures

Our Voices

"Many years ago, the ancient line of Kings who ruled the land of Aleris were both immortal and ageless. There was no definite reason as to why the royal blood of Aleris developed this characteristic of eternal youth. However, it was not without great sacrifice that the Kings obtained their immortality..."

Hey I was thinking about writing a book  In fact, I am in the initial stages of planning.. The plot will be complex, involving civil wars in a fantasy setting which interact with the future of our Earth, similar to my old story-lines where Xezvimhi is traveling from one realm to another. In this storyline, a fantasy realm would interact with a sci-fi realm. Two genres in one. Hax.

But I'm worried I will get writer's block. I've been able to write some massive stuff but typically I get the most creative in Roleplaying (due to habit, I've been RPing since I was like 12). Every time I set out to write a story, I get stuck after the first ten or so pages. I suspect using multiple characters and settings will ease this transition for me.

Has any one else written a book? The longest independent work I've done (that I'm happy with) was in a creative writing class, ended up 24 pages long. I'm sure some of the stuff I've written even in this realm wide storyline could compete with that, but it's all mingled with other peoples work and impossible to publish. I want to make something much more massive..

Who knows and maybe get rich

"That night, Eurynomos dreamed of animals. Animals he'd never seen before.
He dreamed of tigers fighting spiders. He dreamed an eagle screamed and struck down the sun.
His mind drew pictures of wolves hunting bears, of machines in chaotic landscapes,
of gods weeping and laughing in merriment as the animals played their primal games."

Good Luck! That's awesome news!

I've never written a book, I know for a fact the longest things I've ever written were on a forum similar to this one. Best advice I ever got: Write the story you want to read.

If I were to write one it would be about time travel! Maybe with a bit of reincarnation thrown in!

Just be sure to include all the things you search out in your favorite books and it's sure to be great.

I haven't written a book yet but I have plans to make a series of four books. I have already mapped out my world and created a history. Sadly every time I have tried to make progress I lose my motivation quickly. I haven't stopped trying but I wish you luck you have good instincts.

Deal! :)

I am actually working on the map of my world in Photoshop, and if I may say so myself, it's sexy. I will post it here sometime but I'm still not finished. Once I'm done with the map, I can better understand how wars and political regions would develop so I can make a realistic environment.
