If you care or would like to know more about why I decided this, please read on. If not, just know that I am soon going to be removing any references to chat night and events on the website and forum. I will stay in the room and log for another week, but after that I will not be counting any experience from chat.
Time and time again I have heard people say that they really enjoy chat and would like to have it more active. I have attempted in the last few months to create an event and do more frequent chat nights with hardly any activity. I make news posts (here and facebook) and ask for opinions and do not get responses. What response I do get, I have to chase people down for and poke them for advice. For example, over a month ago I created this post because someone had asked for chat to be more active. I got input from two people and only because I had to ask for it.
Now, I know that it's summer and I guess some of you are not in the mood to write or just have writer's block in general. Some of you may have even went to other RPGs. I want you all to know that I when I get home from work, I have about three hours left in the day to spend and what time I do have is spent mainly on this RPG. It may not look like it, but I am doing a lot of work behind the scenes (which you will see soon enough). I am not asking for sympathy here, but unfortunately, I have no energy left to spare on chat nights or events and I am not going to be stuck on a ship that is sinking.
Please understand that I am not blaming anyone else or pointing fingers. My intent in this post is not upset or offend anyone, just to let you all know how I have been feeling about empty chat rooms as of late. And honestly, as for myself, I can't say that I am really interested in using chat right now anyway. Forums are just fine with me.
So even though chat is being removed for the time, I hope you all will stay with us and keep role playing via the forum. There have been a few people new people who say they are more comfortable with chat, but in the end, I don't believe forum is really all that different from chat. In both, you're posting to another person and you can write as little or as much as you would like. We have currently have an open realm-wide storyline and I would love for more people to join in. And if you're new, don't forget that we have several "Starting Point" threads in each forum that you can utilize.
I hope to see you all making some exciting new posts in the near future. And keep an eye out for further improvements in the game. We have quite a bit we want to improve to give all of our players more resources when writing.
Thanks everyone!
