King Alerion has hired skilled mages to see if they can assist in pushing the water back out to sea quicker. Scientists out on the field have stated that the waters have decreased by at least ten feet now. That may not seem like a lot to those of you who are waiting anxiously, but to put it in perspective, at least we're starting to see the second floors of buildings again.
Exceptional and well-trained healers have also been brought into the castle. The sick and wounded have been taken care of and the number of causalities are dwindling. If you are one of the many who has fallen ill or hurt in this great tragedy and are inside the castle walls, please seek assistance from the healers. They are working around the clock.
All across Eiler, it is said that things are gradually starting to shape up thanks to King Alerion's efforts. On the other hand, there are some towns like Jade City which have closed their gates completely to refugees. Those coming from Joi have been turned away having no choice but to make the extra long trek towards Grand City. Really? What's going on, Mayor McJaqass of Jade City? (At The Chronicle, we're not sure if that's his true name, but everyone seems to call him that and it certainly seems to fit given the situation.)
In other news, a recent assassination attempt was made to take King Alerion's life. Three people reportedly snuck into his private study. One of the males in this group, carrying with him the skeleton of a deceased woman (creepy, no?), was said to have assaulted the king. Alerion's guards, with duties to protect the king at all costs, killed the man on sight. It's said that the man was a foreigner and while he may not have wanted to murder King Alerion, there was ill intent in his motives. The other two people who were present in the room - a man and a woman - were given questioning and a small trial, to which they were later released having no part in the plot. Any names are being withheld.
On Elved, Layla Victoire is also attempting to do her part. Though her mansion is at full capacity, she is making sure that everyone who is entering into her home is well fed, clothed and taken care of. Lady Victoire's stores of food and supplies she was saving over time have come in handy in this time of disaster.
Throughout Eiler and Elved, the crime rate is decreasing and eventually it will be safe for people to come out again. However, it has been advised by both rulers - Alerion and Layla - to stay within the castle or mansion for another two to three weeks after the waters are completely gone. There will be a large amount of clean up efforts in this time and heading prematurely back to your homes and shops may increase the chance of you becoming sick again.
On Heruin, reports have come in that there have been some nasty sandstorms lately. If you're trying to fly into the desert continent for some reason, I would not advise it. In fact, due to the heat, it's been said many have completely abandoned Heruin and that the smaller encampments are devoid of any life. Tempesturo's Temple is also completely emptied and its defenses have mysteriously fallen. A cause is being determined, but no one wants to seem to investigate. I don't blame them.
Nevertheless, it's also been stated by witnesses that a red-haired female was spotted roaming the desert and that a black dragon was seen flying towards Heruin and landing somewhere in the desert. Hopefully they don't meet (as the dragon may just be looking for a light snack).
Chaliceton, though we know the snow has melted on Arthuran, has been quiet as of late. Alerion has sent people to investigate. It seems something may be happening on the once snow-filled continent, but no one has been able to deliver any news. Hopefully nothing bad is happening to the only town on Arthuran. Look out for more news coming soon.
