celebrating six years of adventures

Our Voices

Doubly surprising considering she was a vampire succubus and he a satyr but, there it was. The supernatural version of Milo and Otis.

Wish knew very well that her friend Sorvynia Dreamer was somewhere on the continent of Eiler in Aleris. Yet, she could not bring herself to see one of her dearest and closest friends. Perhaps it was because in the last few months she and Victor had been chased around by a demon named Six. Perhaps it was because part of her was afraid. No, she was not fearful of Sorvynia, but the last time the Dreamer had seen her was when Wish was assumed to be dead.

Back when Oneiro was at war, she was the only one who was able to stand up against Verial Akilara, Sorvynia's son. At the time, she had a dragon's soul within her so she figured it was best that she fought him and tried to subdue him. Dragon versus dragon. Nevertheless, it got her "killed" and her dragon soul destroyed. Wish did not blame Verial; she knew he was possessed, but she had to do what she could to save Oneiro which turned out to be a lost battle anyway.

For years she wandered as a memory to those who knew her, to those who had thought she was laid to rest. But she was very much alive. It wasn't until after her adventure with Victor traveling through the Heruin deserts that she decided she would show her face again. Wish would go find her friend Sorvynia whenever she had a chance.

Though Aleris was in turmoil, she had been able to finally steal some time away to go do this. After a number of questions from her loving shapeshifter, Wish kissed Victor good-bye for a little while and set off, assuring him that she would be just fine. Aside from the flooding still in the area, she actually found The Villa quicker than she imagined using her stars as guidance. Luckily, The Villa had been a bit more inland so it only suffered minimal flooding and the waters were starting to back away already.

She stopped just outside the small group of cottages and took everything in. It had obviously not been untouched by the forces of nature that plagued Aleris recently, but for some reason the air smelled sweeter here, more dream-like. Outside a few dogs barked, announcing her presence, and she stepped forward towards the door before she would make them nervous any longer.

The Villa was a strange place. It always seemed to change location magically, as if maybe it didn't even really exist at all. And yet here it was, as if it were waiting for her to visit again. Wish breathed in and then raised a hand knocking lightly on the door. It was quiet inside, but she knew that the Dreamer was around.

"Sorvynia?"

The door always told Sorvynia who was friend or foe. Even across planes of time and space the knock could be heard in the deeper places of her mind. It took a while for the Angel to answer but as Wish stood there waiting, she would not notice lengthy passing of it. The position of the sun in the sky remained as if fixed. The Villa was indeed a strange place; sometimes it would seem that the landscape was the not same from one time to the next or it was missing altogether.

The door would open, seemingly of its own accord. A room would stretch out before Wish, that would seem well kept, lived in, and very inviting. The Dreamer would step out of a mirror that stood against a wall opposite of the hearth.

"Wishsh-Starrr...."
she answered with an other-wordly tone that seemed to carry on like the resonating draw of a bow across strings.

The Angel then was standing before Wish in the next instant, grasping hold of the faery's shoulders gently as she gazed upon her face.

"I have always loved visitations such as these. When the past brings those I loved back to me, if even just for a little while."

A fine-tipped quill and pot of ink are useless to me, if the tablets of my heart are not well soaked by the well of inspiration.

The Villa's door opened and she stepped into the room that was unveiled to her, a very warm and inviting one, as she would expect nothing less from the House of Dreamers. As she glanced around this room, her attentions were diverted to the voice that called her name and she turned her olive-hued gaze to the mirror near the hearth. She was not too surprised to see Sorvynia stepping from this mirror and into the room.

All at once, the angel was next to her and taking her shoulders in her hands, as if feeling for certain that Wish was here, that she was not some sort of ghost. Wish smiled and nodded at her friend and as Sorvynia's hands were still on her shoulders, Wish slipped forward and embraced Sorvynia, hugging her sides. Wish was not sure if it was too sudden to do such things, as she had been gone for so long, or if time had no effect on gestures of comfort.

In any case, the embrace was rather short and Wish found herself taking a lingering step back and looking to Soryvnia again. Her grayish-blue gossamer like wings stretched out behind her for a moment.

"It has been quite sometime, has it not?" Wish said. "For years, I dwelled on the thought of visiting, but here I am. I would like to apologize for delaying this meeting, Sorvynia. As I am sure you have guessed by now," Wish paused here and laughed a little, "I did not die that night in Oneiro."
