She smirked then as she looked at Kyrian once more. Babysit indeed! She'd take the boy to Siren's Corner first chance she got! HA!

Should he do this? Could he do this? For months now the decision to remain married to his precious cara, his sweet Karessa, had weighed heavily on his mind and heart. There was no question that he still loved her dearly and most likely always would, but a man can only go so long without seeing his wife face to face and a year was too long for him. He understood her need to travel, to roam, her freedom when with the Order of Lust had been severely curtailed by her overbearing boorish father and then by her sister. She had always traveled and he had always given her her freedom, knowing she would return to him before too much time had passed.

It was different now, though. Since Jezika had betrayed them both she had barely been seen. He had not set eyes on his beloved wife for a year now and the separation was beginning to wear upon him. He knew she was well, he knew she was not sick, injured, or dying. He was her creator; he made her a succubus, so he would know if she were endangered. Truth be told he could track her if he wished it. It might take some time to locate her cross dimensionally but it could be done. He wasn’t going to do that though. If she wished to return she would. If she wanted to see him she’d be there. He knew what was wrong, she had been soured completely on the idea of marriage and Jezika’s betrayal had ruined the marriage for her. It had not been a case of two women married to one man, but three people married to each other and Jezika broke that faith and destroyed the marriage with it.

For weeks he agonized over the decision he was about to make but finally it realized it had to be done and so it was with a heavy heart that he approached the offices that housed the Aleris Chronicle. Similar announcements would be made in the papers of every realm he and his wife had lived in, Mystra Amore and the Eternal Empire included, so that she might see it should she be near. It was a vain hope, but it was a step he had to take if he was going to sever the matrimonial bond he shared with Karessa.

Approaching the front desk a young girl sat filing her nails, obviously bored and waiting for something to do. Smiling at the girl a brief moment of amusement passed through him when he saw her boredom fade and an interested light enter her eyes as she took him in. Even now, when his heart was heavy and he was questioning the life he had chosen to live women still took notice. The curse of being an incubus he imagined and for once he ignored the obvious invitation in her body language.

A piece of paper along with a small bag containing what sounded like coins were set on the counter top.

”Please give this to your Editor. I would like this run in tomorrow’s daily personal ads.”

The girl offered up a pout when she realized he was not going to take her up on her offer and with a smile that ensured he’d look her up another day he turned and left the offices of the Aleris Chronicle. The next day when he picked up the daily circular that provided the Breaking News and Personal Ads his was the first on the page.

Notice of Intention to Separate

I, Morlis Desiderio, officially announce my intentions to legally separate from my wife, Karessa Lust Desiderio by reason of abandonment. It has been a year since she has been seen and I have chosen to move on with my life without her if that is her wish.

I am posting this notice in the hopes that she will see my words and contact me about her intentions. I will give her one week to reply at which time I will officially sever our marriage bonds and petition for a divorce.

Sincerely,
Morlis Desiderio

Reading the words he had written he signed gently. It seemed all his marriages went down this road. Perhaps he was simply not meant to be married. Could an incubus ever truly be a good husband? He had tried with Karessa, gods knew he had tried, but he would never be a traditional husband. He would always have other women in his life and most could not live with that for too long.

No matter. Dwelling would do him no good. He had posted the notice so if she was anywhere that the various realms publishing’s would reach she would see his intentions.
