"Many years ago, the ancient line of Kings who ruled the land of Aleris were both immortal and ageless. There was no definite reason as to why the royal blood of Aleris developed this characteristic of eternal youth. However, it was not without great sacrifice that the Kings obtained their immortality..."

Sabolin It seemed like years since she had left the the damp dank of the earth. She had went to see how the silver mines were doing and had ended up ill. She hadn't sent word because it had been bad, but she finally gotten well... kinda. Her lavender skin was almost white as was her silver hair and eyes. Her jade colored dress was tattered and made her look none to well. She walked slowly threw the trees taking in the grass under her feet.

Itaridle Ran down the stairs and then to the kitchen where she found Rook and then waved to her before trotting off to work on making herself some milk. Her milk was always different from everyone elses since it had to be a bit sweeter then cows milk, so she put honey in it! Just a spoonful, but it was soooo good! She hadn't seen her Nanny Sabolin yet, but while she was sweetening her milk, she got a sense that something was nearby. Something she had felt in a long while.

Sabolin she ran her fingers over the bark of the trees and had been looking up at the moon when she triped and fell. A root from the tree cought her foot almost as if it wanted her to look down not up. She lay in the grass her ankle brused and hands and knees scraped some. She stayed there in the grass and looked up slightly to see a light from a window. She sighed and wondered if they thought she was dead.

Itaridle Something wasn't right and she dropped the sticky spoon on the counter and ran outside onto the porch. The door banged closed behind her and stood on the porch steps, peering into the darkness, eyes bright. She sensed something definitely wrong. "Daisy! c'm'ere girl, Daisy!" she called the dog. Daisy had an excellent nose and she was a good protector too, so once the hound reached her, she tucked her fingers in the dogs scruff and wandered out into the darkness. "Daisy...something's wrong." she whispered to the dog, who just kinda looked at her. "C'mon...girl." She moved a little bit ahead of the dog to see what she could find, hoping it wasn't someone trying to scare her.

Sabolin she rolled over onto her back and set into coughing only to turn her head to look back at the house as she head the bang of the door. She rolled back onto her stomach and slowly got her her feet. She tried to dust off her dress though it did not good. She ran thin fingers threw her hair and leaned on the tree. Her dull eyes watched the shadows make their way to her. Her voice was hardly a whisper. "Oi, Aye wont hurt'cah." The words felt odd to say after so long of going without speaking common.

Itaridle The coughing startled her and she paused, standing there by Daisy, who started barking. That was sure to raise someone's attention. The animals didn't bark for no reason, or without a good reason. The young faery girl stopped in her tracks and peered into the darkness, which she could see quite good in. "Whose there?" she asked creeping closer. Did we forget to mention Ita was barefoot? That was common for most days. "You wo....." She stopped. That voice, she hadn't heard it in so long and she was shocked. "Aunt Lin? Is that you?" She looked horribly pale, she wasn't sure what to think Drow weren't supposed to be pale!

Sabolin she let out a sound that was a mix of a cough and a laugh. She then noded her head, her once silver hair was now almost as white as her skin. "No one has called me Lin in a long time sweetling." she looked to the house then back to the girl and the dog. The dog who was sure to not know her because she smelt like death itself. "Where is everyone?" her voice still no more then a whisper.

Itaridle Daisy barked for all she was worth and sniffed the drow woman til she was sure the underlying scent was Lin's. She then took off in a dash for the house. Ita rushed forward and latched onto Lin in a huge hug, assaulted by the death stench, which made her almost nauseous, but she swallowed thickly and looked up at her, tears gleaming on her lashes. "Oh my gosh, where have you been? Where did you go? Why did you never say goodbye?! I thought you ran away!" Typical childish worries and concerns were turned ginormous. Daisy barreled into the house barking her head off and searching for someone, anyone. Likely, Josh. "Aunty Lin, you look sick...are you sick? Are you hurt?" Poor girl, she was torn between leaving Lin to go hunt for Joshy and screaming for him, so she hugged Lin tighter, thrilled to see her.

Sabolin she grunted when the child latched onto her and hugged her back weakly. "Aye had to go home, to see to da mines. Aye got sick..." she sighed deeply and doped to her knees and held the warm child to her cool flesh. "Aye thought it to be a short trip, a day or two. Aye am so sorry sweetling." She just sat there hugging the girl weakly and cried softly.

Itaridle As she was hugged, she cried too, but she was trying to remember some of the things she's been learning lately. With her best friend away, she was putting more time into the lesson's her Papa and Ma were teaching her. She was doing anything she could to keep from being sad. {Rook, bring me some water! I'm near Grandfather tree. Hurry! Run, sissy!} she urged her sister. Rook heard her and soon was rushing to get a mug of water and bring it out to her. It was when she saw Lin that she gasped. "Lin! Where did you come froms?!" she exclaimed, shocked.

Sabolin she blinked her eyes many times before she could focus on Rook. She reached out with one arm to call the girl to her. "My ring still transports me no to far from here." she looked from one girl to the other. "How is every one? They ok?" she let them go and started coughing again. Her hand came away with blood and she quickly rubed it into the earth as she looked back to the children. "Come help me up and to the house would you?"

Itaridle The girls looked to each other concerned and since they were the only ones out there, they had to help her. "Daisy must be getting Joshy, so we should at least get her closer to the house if we can. Get on one side of her and I'll get on the other." she suggested. When the girls did that, they tried thier best to help Lin to her feet. When Rook smelled the blood, she forced herself to think about something else. "Your coughing up blood, your still sick." Rook commented. Where was Josh? He was in the tub, so was rushing to get dried and dressed. At least he put on a kilt before rushing out of the house to see what had Daisy riled up. "Alright, girl, show me. What's the problem." He hadn't seen his lil sister or daughter and so started calling for them. "Rook, Ita?! Where are you two?!'

Sabolin she got to her feet and just let the girl lead her mostly moving on her own. "Aye and still sick, yes, but Aye am home and will get better." She stoped in her tracks a few feet from the house when Josh came out the door. A sob shook her whole body and a cry spilled from her lips when she saw him. Her hands went to her mouth and she just stared at him with those dead eyes that almost made her look blind. She doped her hands as he spoke."Aye got them, they is safe boy." She tilted her head and gave them each a weak push telling them to go over to him.

Itaridle "Daddy...daddy, over here! It's Lin, she's home! Lin's back!" Rook exclaimed, still supporting the drow woman with Ita's help. Ita scrubbed the tears away and kept her arm around Lin. "C'mon, we'll get you inside." Hearing the kids, he stopped just inside a sliver of moonlight. He was roughly around thirty now, but due to his mixed nature, he didn't look much older then maybe mid-twenties. Were the girls playing a trick on him? Surely not. They wouldn't joke about something like this. His hair was as wild as ever, still shoulder-length. His jade eyes widened at seeing the pale woman the girls were leading along. The stench of death was all over her. When the girls were pushed ahead, they didn't budge fearing Lin might fall. they were half right, she was on her knees and the girls were struggling to keep her from falling. Josh rushed in to take her into his arms and look her over, shocked. "Lin...dear gods, what's happened to you?" He never expected her to return home in this condition. She had left and he thought she'd only be gone a couple days, but it turned out to be months. He took the water from Rook and told the girls to run up and pull the covers down on his bed. "Hurry girls." he whispered. They reluctantly left to go do as asked.

Sabolin the dress she wore was the one she made that matched his eyes. Eyes she never thought she would see again. When he scooped her up he would notice she weighed almost nothing, not that she had to start with. She wrapped her arms about him and placed her nose to his neck taking in the smell up him. She pressed her dry lips to hisear and whispered to him. "They made my brother poison me, had he not, they would have beat him and worse for the rest his life. When he told me, I made him do it. They did not know he snuck in meds to me to help me. As soon as I could crawl I left and came home." She sighed and just went limp in his arms, though she did not pass out. It was as if she was waiting for him before she stopped pushing herself so hard.

Itaridle He curled his arms around her and pulled her close. He kissed her hair, her cheeks, her lips. Tasting blood, he trembled, knowing he hadn't fed in the last month at least, nor had he slept well at all since she'd been gone. Something within in him was overwhelming him as she told her tale. What was it? Emotions he'd kept pent up and had no reason to unleash them. He had feared her dead and no one had contacted him. No one sent a message, messenger, nor had his searches come to nothing but dead ends. The furious, heart-wrenching roar brewing within came out unhindered as he threw his head back to protect her sensitive ears. The fact her family would do this to her enraged him! They were NOT going to treat the woman he loved like this. He looked quite scary with his fangs gleaming in the moonlight. He briefly looked like the monster he truly never imagined he'd be when he was sixteen! He felt her go limp and his arms tightened around her, rocking her gently as he cradled her lovingly. "My sweet Moonflower, your safe now. Your safe, I'm here. I should've gone with you, you shouldn't have gone alone." he whispered.

Sabolin She looked at him with her dead eyes and reached a hand up to hold his cheek. Her skin was cold, but she could not help it. "Aye know Aye am safe. It is why I fought so hard to get here. To their dismay even with my death they would not get what they wanted, I had papers done up leaving everything of mine to you and Rook. But let us not think of that. Aye and home with you and Aye will not go back. We can send others in my place." she covered her mouth then and coughed into her hand, she pulled it away and it and her lips were bloody. "A warm bath and some broth?" she asked softly.

[00:57] * Joshua_DeepSinger He didn't like how cold she was, she felt almost vampiric. He discreetly checked for fangs, hoping they hadn't done anything horrible to her. He slowly stood, with her in his scarred powerful arms and began taking her inside. "It might be wise that I go next time and when I go, I'm dealing with your family. They won't dare treat you this way. -No one- harms my family and gets away with it." He had to find his bloodstone and get some blood in him. He was feeling quite weak, but he wouldn't reveal that just now. "I think we should get some food into you, m'dear."

Sabolin She just stared at him as if she was unsure she was there with him. She had moments when she had thought she was and so she was trying to figure out if it was true. "Broth, and not to much. My brother did what he could. He cried every day that he saw me. Don't worry about them now." her eyes closed and her head loped to the side a moment the she opened her eyes. "A warm bath too please?"

[01:10] * Joshua_DeepSinger "Why did he not escape with you? Why did he not fake poisoning you? I'm sure the two of you could have put on a good act. C'mon love, there has to be a reason they poisoned you and I'm not letting this slide. They can't attempt nearly killing you and get away with it. I'm not letting them." He wasn't letting this go. For now he'd tend to her, but her family had gone too far! He carried her inside and made way straight for the couch, setting her down. He then took her hands in his own, squeezing them gently. He had nearly lost her and he was determined that no one was going to harm her. Ever again! "I think there's veggie stew on the stove? Want to try a little of that?" She had to get some weight back on her so she was healthy.

Sabolin She would wait for now to tell him why it had to be done the way it was. She just gave him the best smile she could, even though it might look creepy, and noded her head."Just no veggies, I might not even be able to hold much." she kissed his hands before letting him go. She covered herself with the blanket that always seemed to be on the back of the couch and laid back closing her eyes as she waited on him.

Sabolin she was in and out of sleep all night and most the day. All she remembered was being placed on the couch and that was it. She woke with a jolt. She looked around the room trying to figure out where the hell she was. When she saw it wasn't the dungeon room she sighed and laid back. Sighing she let her eyes close again and just listened to the sounds around her.

Joshua_DeepSinger {FairWood--Bansca's Home} Ever since Sabolin came home late last night, he had been up and hadn't slept at all since he had been tending to her. He'd managed to get her fed and while she slept, he had washed her up really good. If she had any wounds that had needed tending too, he had cleaned, stitched, and bandaged them. Being the stepson of an Angel and the son of a Ranger and a Valkyrie did leave him with some useful skills. She'd have to bathe to wash her hair and things, but most of the dirt and grime was off of her. He'd managed to put her in a gown too. He'd left her there on the couch while he continued delaying sleep to watch over her. He'd spent about a good half hour of the night down in his father's lab hunting for healing potions, anything that might help her. Since Noir had changed him when he was sixteen, he wasn't sure if he could heal others magically. He hadn't dared to try. He could heal himself, but healing others was still daunting for the troubled young man. He had set the potions on the coffee table and then had stayed by her after getting those potions. His head was pillowed on his arms which rested on the couch since he was kinda sitting on the floor by her. He wasn't fully asleep, but quietly resting so he could keep an eye on her. "Shhhh....your safe, your home." he whispered softly, resting a hand on hers.

Sabolin She looked from inside back outside as he lead her in. She didn't want to be in the house, but she needed to wash her hair and get better cleaned up. She hugged him tight as they walked. She went into her room after they made it up the stairs. Moving to the windows she opened them both and then went top her bed. She laid on it as she waited. She knew he would not let her draw up a bath so she just rested soon to fall asleep once more. Her eyes opened again when he spoke. Giving a soft smile she placed her other hand on his. "Hello you." She said weakly. She settled back onto the couch. "Where is everyone?" she wondered if he sent them away so he could tend to her. She sure hoped not. Taking her hand off his to run through his hair she coughed and winced in pain.

Joshua_DeepSinger Covered her hands and brought the top one to his lips, kissing each of her fingers. "Good evening, gorgeous." He kept his voice low cause Ita and Rook both were sleeping on the other couch. "Shhh..the girls are asleep." he cautioned her. "I couldn't get them in either of thier beds for anything. I think they feel you'll vanish again." came his admission for the girls. "Verial, Kyrian, and Aursra are on an adventure right now. The girls are sleeping...the twins are still with Noir. Ma and Pa are possibly out on the porch talking or something." he assured her. Turned long enough to get the potions. "I raided dad's lab last night and I hope he won't be furious, but I found these potions, I hope they'll help." Uncorking one, he knew it didn't smell too pleasant, but it would help. If not, he'd try another. "This one is supposed to help fight poisons. I don't know what you were poisoned with, so this might not work fully. I have to find the antidote to cure you."

Sabolin She held out her hand and shook her head. "None of that will work, besides the poison is gone. I just need to get this sickness gone." Her voice still didn't get over a whisper. She might never talk louder then that again, she didn't know. She looked to see that he had changed her dress, she wondered if he had seen the marking that were now in her body, they might of looked like scar, but they were far from that. She chewed her lip and looked over to the sleeping children then back to him. "They are so sweet to worry. I was half expecting to have flowers and goddess knows what else all around me." she smiled at the though as she looked at him her eyes still milky and blind looking. "What all did you see?" She knew he would understand her. It was something that was there from when they first met.

Joshua_DeepSinger Grabbed the other potion and handed it to her. "Then this one might work. I could try healing you, but I haven't tried anything like that in a long time. I don't know if I can..I wouldn't want to hurt you." More then likely she'd be festooned in flowers later. Her voice sounded as weak as his had been after those cursed jet black beads buried themselves in his neck. He probably should've never been able to talk after that. Noir had nearly killed him twice. His sanity was always questionable. "Everything....what did they do to you?" he whispered, heart-broken. "Who specifically did this to you?"

Sabolin She sighed. "May Aye have some juice, or tea please?" She waited for him to bring her one or the other before she started. looking him over she placed her hand to his cheek. "It was a test, and Aye past." She siped the drink slowly then looked at him again. "My brother was sent to poison me because my sister wants the mines. Little did she know Aye put it in your's and Rooks name if Aye die." she sighed and took another sip of the drink. "The markings are a blessing."

Joshua_DeepSinger Brought her some juice and then drug a footstool over to sit on after a lengthy stretch. He still hadn't put a shirt on over his scarred form, nor did he have on anything save for a long leather kilt. Every scar shown, save the ones his kilt concealed. There were still smooth parts upon his skin, but he had scars from head to toe. His arms looked the worst for all the times he's given his own blood to Rook or his twins. "What kind of test? This is no test, this looks more like torture." Her sister? "What's her name? Take your time, but tell me everything."

Sabolin She sighed again and looked at him, really looked at him. "Just leave it be. I will not go back and the goddess has given me blessing to stay here. Please let us just leave it at that." she took another sip then started coughing again, though this time there was no blood. She reached over and ran her fingers over his chest and looked him in the eyes. "Did I miss the sun?" Her question was random and far from what they were talking about that it might throw him off, but she knew he would pess the matter more, but she would not tell him more still she was stronger.

Joshua_DeepSinger "Lin....they tried to murder you. Your sister did anyways. How can I let that -go-?" How could ANY man let something like that go? No way in -HELL- he was letting this go. Some spoiled lil Drow was -not- going to get away with nearly killing the woman he loved! Feeling her pale fingers on his scarred chest made him take a deep breath. "For many days, yes, but not this morning. There's still time to see it." he assured her. "I'll be right back, I'm gonna make some coffee, luv." He left briefly to start some coffee so he could have something to drink soon, assuring her he'd be right there in the kitchen for a few moments. How could he let this go? They could try again and what was he supposed to do? Just let it slide?!

Sabolin She tossed the blanket off once he went into the other room. She didn't reply about him not letting things go. she put her glass on the table and moved placing her feet on the floor. She looked around before she saw what she wanted. Standing and holding onto things till she got to where her staff was propped by the door. She took it into her hand and used it to lean on as she made her way to the door. Opening it and stepping out onto the porch she walked slowly with the staff's aid. Her bare feet hit the grass and she crept out into the sunlight. She tilted her face up eyes closed and let the warmth of the sun shine down on her. She dropped to her knees shortly after still holding the staff and her face still turned up. She was like a plant that finally grew, its goal was to reach the light. Tears slid quietly from the corners of her eyes.

Joshua_DeepSinger Coffee brewing, he turned to watch her and frowned. Leaving the coffee to brew, he checked on the kids briefly and then moved outside after Lin. He knelt beside her and rested his hand on hers. The sun was coming up over the trees and it was sure to be a bright, sunny day as far as he could tell. "I'm sorry..I don't want to upset you, but I can't let someone hurt those I love. Your everything to me..and I'm grateful your Goddess let you stay here with me, with all of us. I thought...all kinds of things while I looked for you. I feared finding you dead." he finally admitted, looking towards the sunrise.

Sabolin Bringing her head down to look at him she opened her eyes. She let the tears stay and didn't bother to try to clear her vision. She licked her lips and tilted her head to the side. She placed her hand over his heart. "Did you think me to be dead here?" she dropped her staff and wrapped her arms around him and hugged him to her. "Aye know what you thought and Aye know you will not be so easy to forget what has happened, but Aye am here with you now and that is all that should matter." Pulling back from him to look at him. "Aye thank you for cleaning me, was my ankle bruised? Can Aye get a bath before the kids wake? Aye don't want them to see... not yet." she sighed and sat back some. She might be starting to feel a tad better but she wouldn't push it. "And then some broth?"

Joshua_DeepSinger Maybe he hadn't quite expressed that right. He tried to wipe her tears away. "No..not in my heart no. I still feared finding you dead, I thought all kinds of unimaginable things happening to you. I had nightmares, I haven't slept well. I haven't even fed much for worrying so much about you. I had a horrible sense that something was wrong, and not finding you tore me apart. Seeing you coming back to me so weak scared the hell out of me." Cradled to him and kissed the top of her head. "Yes, it's bruised, but you'll be alright. I've tended to your wounds, but whatever sickness this is, we have to get you well." Smiled softly. "Yeah, you can have some more broth. You should try and eat whatever you think you can keep down. We'll take it slow until your appetite is back."

Sabolin She titled her head again as she looked at him. "If in your heart you knew Aye was not gone, then it was true." she kissed his cheek. "Aye need a bath, then food. I have not been able to hold much, the fact that the broth from last night means more then you know." She picked up the staff and started to stand. She looked down at him as the sun was now fully up. It caught her hair and it almost looked like a halo around her head. She smiled and waited for him to stand with her. "How long was I gone?"

Joshua_DeepSinger He stood and then had to close his eyes cause the sun was hurting them. "Bright today..making my eyes sting already." But at least he wasn't undead and wouldn't burn to a crisp from the sun. He was a strange one...a living vampire. His heart still beat. "Come on, let's get you upstairs and into the bath." He wrapped an arm around her and then guided her up the steps and into the house, pacing along beside her so she wouldn't fall. He kissed her cheek, peeking over to make sure the kids still slept. "Too long...far too long." And here he had his love back, and Khementh's was gods knows where. He missed his Aunt Song!
