She smirked then as she looked at Kyrian once more. Babysit indeed! She'd take the boy to Siren's Corner first chance she got! HA!

KING ALERION FOUND DEAD IN HIS SOILED UNDERWEAR!

Ok. That's kind of an exaggeration. He's not really dead. (apologies to friends and family of King Alerion) I just wanted to get your attention by mentioning a name everyone here in the merry ol' land of Aleris would know.

Hale here, the new writer and reporter of the spotlight column. Seeing as how this is my first report I figured it was best to bring up somebody that all of you readers are familiar with, that'd guarantee at least some of this gets read before the paper ends up lining the cage of your favorite pet.. (Yeah, that's right..don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about)

But before you go accusing me of some lame ass attempt at shock and awe, let me say that getting my own print read wasn't the whole point. The other side of it is that some people are just automatically important. You hear their name and bam, you know who they are without ever really knowing who they are. Then there the other people, the people you don't hear about every day. The people who might be just as important as Alerion, but for some reason they never got the recognition. (I'm guessing it'd be the whole he's the king and they're not, big expensive castle, whatev. Not the point)

Well that's where I come in. Every month we're going to find someone, someone who brings something to the table but never gets their name brought up for it. Sometimes it's bitter, sometimes it's sweet, but there's no denying that whatever it is you can be sure they're going to bring a lot of it. So it was decided this month to put the Spotlight on the mistress of the Siren's Corner. The little half-imp pimp herself, Salome de`Ingis.

I decided to surprise her just as she was first opening the doors of the building. She didn't have any time to prepare, any time to stall, so every answer you see below is the answer as it was given.Or as best as I could write down with a charcoal pencil and the back of a Siren'c Corner menu. (Yeah, that's right. -Menu-)

At first the answers came quick and easy for her. She was on the ball and didn't seem needing or wanting to bullshit. But as I dug a little deeper I think I might've hit a nerve or two. Especially when the situation with her and her father came up. Is she trying to hide something? Is she ashamed? Did she get a little too much 'hug therapy' growing up? You be the judge.

Q: Almost as soon as you arrived in Aleris you took over management of the Siren’s Corner which, as we all know, is a whore house. It’s widely accepted as the norm here in Aleris but among some circles there is still a lot of stigma attached to this particular profession. Did you have any concerns about taking on your roll as Madame?

A. It was a whore house before I opted to try my hand at running it. Now I consider it a Day and Night time Pleasure Spa. As for me, why would I be concerned? I thought I could find a way to make my family proud of me that I was fighting to not be just another slut bunny and decoration. I work for a living and make others happy, is that not the goal of most women?

Q. You spent quite a bit of your personal funds to renovate the Corner upon taking over and have turned part of it into a day spa. Many wonder if this wasn’t just a ploy to give your establishment a more reputable veneer. Are the theories true? Is the Spa just a front? And if not, has there been any genuine interest in the services it offers? Do those services include sexual elements as well? A little happy ending with that massage?

A. The corner is to cater to all pleasures a person would want. Some pleasures are just that to be beautiful, to feel good without doing it between bedroom sheets. There is no front it's a very straight forward business, some women take pleasure in being beautiful for their loves, so they come to the one door of the facility. Some men want just a quick lay, then there are others that want a full paumpering and pay to infact engage in sexual interactions after massages. It's up to the person, we offer what brings Pleasure to people in this land.

Q. As stated before there is a certain stigma attached to your profession among certain circles. Some would consider you and your employees no account whores rather than professional sex workers. How do you handle such opinions and do you believe that your establishment provides a necessary service?

A. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. I pay my taxes, I listen to the prattle and idle gossip of women that will talk ill of this place and then turn around and book appointments to beautify themselves. To me it's all a double standard, you will but you won't. All that matters is that you enjoy yourself at the end of the day and bring a smile and a little bit of pleasure into someone's life. Necessary service is such a broad term but an apt one, this place does cater to just that. Women need a place to make them feel beautiful so they keep their men from such sometimes inaccurately termed 'whores'. Let me ask you a question, have you or anyone ever asked a whore why she chose that profession? I doubt it.

Q. Enough about the Corner. Let’s get to know the Madame behind the Brothel a little bit better. You yourself are a concubine, what many would call a slave, correct? How do you reconcile the discrepancies between your two vastly different roles? How does your Mistress feel about your job and all it entails?

A. Yes I am a Concubine to a beautiful woman and do I feel any shame in it? No. I'm proud of whom I serve and feel that I am what is termed diverse. Every woman has a duality about them, I embrace mine where as most fear to be labeled so they hide and lose a part of themself. It by no means affects my position in the Corner, it makes me more understanding to my employees and it allows me to have the patience to show others the same duality that I embrace without thrusting it down someone's throat like some do religion. My Mistress finds my position a good way to spend my time and help her with keeping her amused. It's like women in a beauty parlor, which I offer, we gossip.

Q. You're quite young for such a role, not to mention the fact that you look like a walking stick of cotton candy. Have you found that your youth and appearance works against you? Do you have difficulty getting people to take you seriously?

A. Age is but a number, as to my apperance well my departed mother was colorful regretfully I take up after her in apperance. But honestly people view me as a bit of fluff but are suprised as there is nothing fluff about me. I am a very driven person that wants to see things are done. It amuses people to see someone so small that have people jump to do their bidding. I've encountered no adversity in that so I wouldn't say I've ever had problems. I lay down the rules to ensure things are safe, people are happy and that's just how it is.

Q. There have been rumors that before his death your Father took you as one of his lovers. Is this true? If so, were you a willing participant? You come from a family of demons so it’s expected that their morality would be quite different from that of the average person and would see nothing wrong with such a thing, but how do you feel about having been taken by your father? Have you encountered any negative reactions from people when they learn of your past?

A. That's a rather personal question but to give you something to feed the gossip mongers that love little ondits. I am from a family of demons, pleasure and destruction run through my veins. As to my past, I have nothing to hide. I've been lead down paths that were wrong and worked hard to make amends. Mistakes are a part of life so rather then flip the question around and point out rather tactless facts. I'll give you blunt and to the point, my father isn't worth further print unless you wish to pet his ego in hell.

Q. To further complicate your life, you are not only a concubine, but have one yourself. Do you find that it is problematic being both Mistress and Slave? I know he assists you with your duties at the Corner but what about with the clients? You have plenty of women to service the horny men of Aleris but what about the women? Do you pimp Andras out when a female client is looking for some temporary male companionship?

A. My concubine, Andras was given to me by my father before things came out in the dirty laundry. I had him before I became a concubine myself. My Mistress and Her Lord were nice and allowed me to keep him as he keeps me happy. Better a happy concubine then a whiney bitchy one. *pops a grin here* As for him, no he doesn't service clients unless it is of his choosing. I do employ 3 male workers here not including my newest employee. They are there for female clientel, and believe me, I have them too. They've actually helped me look into a new aspect of the business that I will be expanding in the following weeks. Be sure to check with my Sister and the Chronical as to a few new changes with the corner to make it more helpful to peoples needs. < shameless plug>

Q. Which of course leads me to my next question; what about you? You run the Corner and manage the girls, but do you ever take clients? If someone is willing to pay enough can they barter for a piece of the Madame? What would someone have to pay for a piece of your ass?

A. No I do not service people, I employ 6 girls that are souly for the purpose of pleasuring men and well some women as well. I have yet to find a man that stimulates my interest to go to bed, perhaps if I find one if I so chose I would. As for my ass I save that for someone deserving and that's usually Mistress or Andras.

(Salome cont.) However, allow me to further indulge any's curiousity of to this facility. I welcome anyone that has questions or wishes a sample of our services to come down, and check out the spa. I offer one day a month of free pampering, to first come first serve. That is comprehensive hair, massage, make up for some. I even have a girl that while she's massaging your back advises you on the best colors for your complexion.

(Salome cont.) Were there any further questions?

{End of interview}

Oh Salome, there'll always be more questions. But are you willing to give up the answers?

That's it for this month. Did we learn anything? We learned that if you ever have the need for some dirty little deeds than the Siren's Corner is your one stop shop for all those things you rather not talk about. And we learned that Salome is a business woman who seems to have a bright future ahead of her as long as she's able to keep her past behind her. Just don't ask if her dad's back there too. Same time next month people. Keep your eyes open, never know when the light might hit you.
