That things are only getting more and more deliciously complex between the erstwhile Redmont lord and the sultry succubus Alidia Ryland. When last we checked in on these two it seemed that the Redmont would like nothing more then to end Miss Ryland’s existence and now it seems as though reconciliation might be in their future. Now this isn’t to say that they will hop back in the sack, but he has stopped trying to strangle her and that has to be a good sign! The most curious part of all of this? Maxim’s wife. Yes, that’s right boys and girls, there is a Mrs. Redmont and she has most definitely arrived.

But, just when we thought we were in for a good old fashioned bout of “Bitch, my man ain’t your baby’s Daddy” the women in question went and turned the tables on us, instead forming a united front against the homicidal Redmont in their efforts to protect the illegitimate offspring of the slayer and the succubus and stop his plan for infanticide. This tenuous alliance lasted for all of a day or two when the Redmont tyrant went and turned the tables on them…by becoming the Hero.

No, you didn’t read wrong. The once vampiric Redmont Kinslayer has somehow been cured of his vampirism and is now leading the wave of righteous fury as he calls to arms the Redmont Dynasty, the noble slayers who fight against the darkness, against the Redmont Brood, the very darkness they are striving to eliminate. And just who is manning the helm of the Redmont Brood? That’s right, Mrs. Redmont, and at her side is Dahlia, the only legitimate heir that this reporter knows of to the Redmont seat of power. Rallying to Maxim’s call to arms is none other then Chloe Ardal, now Chloe Redmont, the unwanted child born of a single night between he and a succubus.

The Hatfield’s and the McCoy’s have nothing on this family.

And just where does this leave the woman at the heart of it all? Though it seems Alidia has again softened towards the Redmont lord (We do so love our bad boys, don’t we girls?) she seems reticent to become too involved in the bloodier aspects of the feud brewing between the Redmont lord and his estranged wife and rumor has it that Chloe has joined her Father’s campaign against her Mother’s wishes. Will she again grace Maxim’s bed in the face of the cold reception given by his wife? She tempted him once and though lightening may never strike in the same place twice, a succubus is another force all together.

Not that Miss Ryland is languishing for male attention. Rumors of the same mysterious beach frolicking male visiting her rooms in the dead of night have been circulating the palace. Why look for Mr. Right when she’s got Mr. Right Now?

Amusing though they are, the Redmont camp is not the only one causing a stir. Plans for a new pit fighting arena to be built on the island off the coast of the Temple of Calypso have been announced and the natives are restless! Is this what Aleris really needs? A bunch of sweaty muscled men vying to be the toughest alpha male at the top of the mountain? Absolutely! The proprietor, Akuma Prism, is the reigning undefeated Pit Falls champion and ladies let me tell you he is a sigh to behold. Even if watching grown men pummel each other isn’t enough of a draw, you’ll be front row center once you get a look at him. Careful though ladies, rumor has it he’s taken.

Who will be the first to step up and test his manhood in the cage? Rumor has it that not all of the participants will be willing. Sources say King Alerion has offered the new establishment royal sanction in return for the right to use Pit Falls for official duels and death matches to settle a disagreement or feud. Perhaps we will soon see the Redmont lord and his estranged wife battling to the death within the cage, with the royal seal of approval no less. It has even been speculated that prisoners may be offered to Pit Falls as part of their sentence, much like a modern gladiator, though whether they get their freedom in the end regardless of winning is unknown.

Speculation on the state of the city runs rampant among the citizens of Aleris these days. Whether its Fact or Fiction...
