The Aleris Chronicle has returned! That’s right Ladies and Gentleman, soon the staff of the Chronicle will be bringing all things news, gossip, and event worthy straight to your door! There will be a full issue released by the end of the month. In the meantime we will be interviewing prospective reporters to fill the newly created positions within the Chronicle.

There have been changes made to the Chronicle, of course! There will still be a weekly Editorial as well as the gossip column, Rumor Has It, but we will now be offering two additional columns as well.

First: The Spotlight! Ever want to know more about the prominent figures you see about town? Well now you can! Once a month a reporter will be bringing you an in depth interview with chosen Alerian Citizens asking all the questions you would ask them yourself.

Second: The Society Pages! Have an important announcement? Recently married? Unfortunate death or new addition to the family? Perhaps you have an event or function you wish to spread the word about? Looking for something or someone specific? Here is where you announce it! Our Society reporter will gladly make your announcement and ensure it catches the notice of all those within Aleris.

These two positions are as of yet unfilled so if you are interested in being the Reporter to tackle one of these jobs please submit your letter of interest to the Editor in Chief at the Chronicle Office.

OOC Addendum: There have been several changes made to the Chronicle, as you can see, so I wanted to take a moment on an ooc level to elaborate on some of them.

The Spotlight, quite obviously, is designed to bring attention to individual characters, characters you may not have had an opportunity to RP with or get to know, in the hopes that it will promote interaction between the characters and rpers of Aleris. If you have someone you would like to nominate for the Spotlight (and please, let’s check the egos and not nominate ourselves lol) or have a question for someone you’d like asked when/if they are Spotlighted, please do not hesitate to PM the reporter responsible for that column. Until the position is filled please PM Sarine de Ingis.

The Society Pages is intended to act as sort of a personals page. Any deaths, be they s/l or permanent/DM deaths, births, marriages, divorces, or any significant event, or even request, that you want announced, will go here. In order to get your announcement in the Chronicle please PM the reporter responsible for that column. It is entirely possible, however, if the event is a big enough deal (such as a DM death) it will get mentioned with or without a request! Or it will end up in the Gossip column, so get those announcements in! Until the position is filled please PM Sarine de Ingis with your announcements.

Any of those interested in these positions please have your character send a letter of interest to Sarine in the Daily Life at the Chronicle forum, or even RP having your character come to see her!
Which leads me to the next change; the Daily Life at the Chronicle Forum. Any RP surrounding the Chronicle should take place here. If your character is has a reaction to something they have read, if they wish to speak to a reporter for any reason, if you are a reporter and wish to detail something you are doing in the course of your job, this is where that will go.

For now the Chronicle will be a monthly affair though I am hoping to bump it up to bi-weekly once activity increases, perhaps even weekly should we ever become that busy, so keep that in mind when applying for a position. The first “Issue” will be put out at the end of the month! So get out there and give us something worth writing about!!
