"Not at all! Baby’s heartbeat is very strong. Growing like a weed actually. With Verial's super sperm and your iron womb, nothing short of a bomb is going to bother that child."

"That's...wow, did you just say 'super sperm'?"

"I did. How does that make you feel?"

"I might vomit."

Once part of the world of Man it exists still alongside it, unseen by those they once taught the ways of magic and druidism, those they once interacted freely with, the Fae once a respected and accepted part of the world. Now their numbers had dwindled, only humans of the Old Celtic lines being found worthy to enter the Priestess and Priesthoods that called the Shining Isle home and those lines were swiftly dying out, the shores of Avalon acting as refuge to the beleaguered earth bound fae, fewer and fewer choosing to leave Faerie for the human world.

Avalon itself is eternal, a part of the world in every time and place, which given the ability to traverse the intricate web of time and space possessed by many of the immortal or magical beings that inhabited the Isle and Faerie, could become quite confusing. It was nothing for denizens of the multitude of eras to meet in the human world or even in other realms beyond Earth and Faerie, many claiming to be of Avalon yet none having encountered the other, though all the claims were valid. To beings trapped within the finite world of linear time this would be hard to comprehend but to the magical beings that travel these worlds, it is simply the norm.

This is the world into which Kisa Pendragon Le Fey was born.

The child of an arranged union it was the prophecy of the Ban Drui (female druids) and Druid Elders of Avalon that the child of this union would save and protect the future of Avalon. The modern world (which is the era this Avalon inhabited) had little use for the fae folk, you see, nor the ancient religions that once dominated the earth. Oh sure, there were pagans about, but their existence was largely discounted by most of society and as a result Avalon receded further and further into the mists, dying out as it were, until it would be nothing more than a part of Faerie.

And so it was that Nimue Le Fey, the newly invested Lady of the Lake and daughter of Morgaine Le Fey and the druid wizard once known as the Merlin, was chosen to act as the sacred vessel for this child and representing the Goddess joined in sexual union with a man unknown to her, his face hidden just as her's was so as to allow him to act on behalf of the Horned Lord. This mans name was Uther Pendragon MacGillivray, a cait sidhe and the last male of the ancient Pendragon line and it was this lineage that caused him to be chosen. The child would be the first child born of a Le Fey and Pendragon union since the birth of the infamous Mordred.

Though reluctant Nimue agreed, what choice had she against a prophecy really, and the child was conceived on the eve of Bealtaine, a merry-begot. Unfortunately this man was evil to his rotten core and once the child was born, a daughter Nimue whimsically named Kisa for her feline heritage, Uther demanded he be given the child. No one was entirely sure how he managed to over rule the Lady of the Lake but it is now known that he stole the child and hid her away, jealous that it was she who would one day be the savior of Avalon, it's Lady once her mother retired, and that he would be noted as being nothing more than her father.

Almost instantly he sent her to the Highlands of Scotland to be raised by her paternal Grandparents. Her grandmother's maiden name was Pendragon and it was through her that she was linked the ancient bloodline of the first Uther, her Grandfather The MacGillivray who provided the cait sidhe ancestry. They were both kind, warm, loving people and in later years would cause Kisa to wonder how an evil man like her father could have come from two such people.

It was there she resided, happily, until she turned 17. Then, out of the blue, her father demanded her return. Unable to deny him she was sent to Cornwall and found that her father, whom she'd never seen, was an evil bastard intent on using her to further his own agenda as it was nearing the time she would be expected to enter the Priestesshood on Avalon and nothing would stall the elders on that front. Life with her father was harsh, he was abusive and she was stubborn which is never a good combination. She was also ignorant of who and what she was. Her father had ensured her faerie aura and powers would be bound. As far as she was concerned the Avalon she always heard spoken of was nothing more than a modern day lodge for old english families.

The appearance of a friend of her mother's (who she had never met and whose name she did not know) removed her from her father's care for reasons Kisa was not given but she suspected her father had bartered her to get himself out of some sort of trouble. Rather than be taken straight to Avalon she was taken to the Eternal Empire and from there her adventures truly began.

It isn't a time she often enjoys remembering, a romantic affair ended poorly and she also discovered who she was, what she was, that Avalon was in fact a real place, so was Faerie, and her mother was the Lady of the Lake. She also learned she had two sisters on top of it all. Nimue had fallen in love with an irishman named Weslan Smythe and together they had first Bridget and then Elphlane. His duties to his people kept him in modern Ireland often but he joined his family whenever possible. Wishing her daughters to know both worlds the girls entered school in Ireland as well as studies on Avalon, becoming efficient at moving between the vastly different dimensions effortlessly at a young age.

It wasn't easy to accept but eventually she did and moved to Avalon to enter the Priestesshood as expected. Her sisters were there to greet her. They'd known of her as Nimue had never kept Kisa's existence a secret and had searched for her for years. It was awkward at first but that didn't last long and by the time they left to return to their studies in Ireland they were as close as sisters could be.

She enjoyed Avalon, enjoyed her studies, and eventually came to enjoy being a faerie, even being a cait sidhe which had surprised her even more, but she did not take well to bending to the will of the Elders and defied them regularly which resulted in many disputes between them, herself, and her Mother, her mother always taking her side.

It was during this time that she met Antonio Desiderio, the son of her mother's first husband from her younger days, and they began a brief affair. She traveled with him during this time, visiting other realms, but eventually they parted ways (on affectionately, friendly, terms) and she returned to Avalon though didn't stay long. Almost instantly at odds with the Elders she retreated through the thin veil of mists into the heart of Faerie and there joined her Grandmother Morgaine, the former Lady of the Lake, and her Grandfather, the former Merlin of Britain.

She still had much to learn in the way of her magic and her faerie nature, and it was at her Grandparents side that she began to learn. She loved living in Faerie, the wild unbridled magic that seemed to infuse everything. It was free and enchanting, intoxicating, and she loved it. It was during one of the nightly revels held in the sparkling forests of faerie that she met Risclix.

An earth-bound forest fae, one of the many pixie like fae who inhabited the earth realm for the sake of nurturing the flora and fauna there. There were many who did so, choosing to remain behind to their tasks rather than live permanently in the realm of faerie. He once tended the forest of his clan but was exiled when it was learned that he had traveled beyond the forest into the world of the humans. Such a thing was forbidden and they wasted no time exacting their punishment just as they had done to his mother decades before.

Once on his own he took refuge within a tree and was bitten by a vampire bat, his faerie blood causing it to mutate until he became perhaps the first six inch vampire faery known to the world. He wasn't always six inches tall, mind you. His race of fae could assume a human sized form during the “t'ween times”, dawn and dusk, and for three hours could walk about as a full sized man, shedding his wings in the process.

It didn't take them long to become involved and when she returned to her life beyond Faerie he went with her. They traveled but inevitably they returned to the Shining Isle. Kisa knew she could not put off the confrontation with the elders forever and thanks to her Grandparents she felt far more capable of taking them on than before. Now fully skilled in her unique brand of magic she now wielded both the green faerie fire as well as the black flame. She could not restore life as well as take it. She was the daughter of the Prophecy, the one to save Avalon's future, and she was not about to be dictated to by a bunch of old men and women who had not stepped foot outside of the mists since Avalon vanished!

The future of Avalon did not rest in the hope that the people of earth would return to a time when they believed in mystical creatures. There would always be those on earth who believed in faeries, pagans, witches, mystics, but she knew it would never again be the widely accepted belief it once was and certainly would never command the same respect. In a world of science and technology, magic and faeries were considered fantasy only. Relying on them would be folly.

Traditions are great but can also hinder the growth of a people if adhered too blindly. Earth was not their only resource. Avalon was not born of Earth as most believed, but of Faerie and had once bridged the gap between the two worlds. It was still a Gateway into Faerie (though certainly not the only one it was the most well known) though nothing said it had to be exclusively for Earth. There were other worlds, realms, dimensions, were fae may exist whether born there or traveled there as she did. There were other avenues for them and she refused to allow the Elders to blindly refuse to accept it.

Her mother was still Lady of the Lake and would be for quite some time. For a Faerie she was young yet and enjoyed her position on the Isle where as Kisa had no interest in taking it on any time soon, if ever. Rather than sit around Avalon waiting for that possible transition to happen she informed the Elders she would be establishing a Faerie Court in the realm of Aleris. She'd passed through the realm while she and Risclix were in Antonio's company and knew the potential the land held.

It was there that she would establish a new Faery Court, influenced by the traditions of faerie as well as avalon, something her Grandmother had hinted at doing all the while she'd been at her side. It was time for a fresh start, she'd said. There were many Faerie Courts ruled by their Faery Kings and Queens throughout the realm of Faery and Avalon would be seen too by her Mother. Not everyone wished to remain in the more traditional courts, however, nor in the tradition ruled Avalon.

It was left to Risclix to choose the forest they would occupy, the Eastern Lands of Spring being their first, and rather obvious, choice. As a forest fae he was the expert and would find the perfect site for their Court, for their home. A forest haven, a sanctuary, for them and for the fae that may some day join them.

Born a forest fae he had a knack for sensing the aura of a forest and was even now leading her to the location he had found. Excitement bubbled through her as she moved effortlessly behind him, sure footed in spite of being blinded.

“Ye know the anticipation is killin’ me, Slick,” she replied, the hint of a brogue still present in her voice. He knew quite well that curiosity killed her, no doubt a side effect of being half cait sidhe, and he enjoyed torturing her as often as he could. The sounds of the forest surrounded her and the deeper into the woods they walked the more at east she began to feel, as if he were leading her home and not to an unfamiliar (and thus far undisclosed) location.

After several long moments she felt the air around her change, the soft breeze that had been playing with her honey gold hair vanishing in favor of a faint current of air that carried with it the scent of the earth. They were underground. She could sense it as surely as she knew her name.

“Alright, you can open them!”Risclix announced triumphantly and when her eyes parted to reveal her peridot gaze she gasped. He’d left a torch burning so she would be able to see the massive cavern that stretched out before her but it wasn’t the size of the cave, nor the many corridors that branched off of the main room leading to smaller chambers, that was the cause of her surprise. It was formed nearly entirely of crystal. Everywhere she turned the walls glittered, crystal outcroppings appearing from the earth in random formations, the ceiling itself shining with the iridescent light.

“Risclix…it’s beautiful..” she breathed. It was stunning, very like the cave that he took her too in Faerie the night they first met, the abundance of crystal putting her in mind of the legends surrounding her grandfather that said he was imprisoned in a crystal cavern described to be very like this one. It was large enough to house as large a Court as she could build here in Aleris and she could see that the corridors led to a maze of tunnels, all as sparkly as the main room, to a honey comb of rooms large enough to act as bedchambers for herself, her sisters should they choose to join her, and any one else who found enough favor at Court to be invited to live among them. And there, across the room from the entrance, sat a large cluster of crystals, most of them bigger than she was, that had been fashioned by the hand of Earth Mother herself to form what could easily pass as a throne fit for a Faery Queen.

Meeting Risclix’s eyes her own cats green gaze filled excitement mingled with happiness. She’d told her family her plans before going to the Elders and informing them she would be creating a Faerie Court in Aleris and, if there was interest, a new Priestesshood of Avalon to keep their traditions alive. The invitation had been extended to her mother and sisters to join her though Nimue declined in favor of spending her life quietly with Weslan. Whether her sisters would join her she did not know. They had only just met her face to face a year or so before and all three of them, herself included, were used to living among modern Earth in addition to the antiquated atmosphere of both Avalon and Aleris. Not to mention they were half human and hadn’t decided if Avalon was the path for them. But, this wasn’t just about Avalon, this was about establishing her own Faerie Court and she hoped, deep down, that they would join her.

“It’s perfect Slick…it just needs a little more light,” she announced as, with a grin, she knelt to the ground then and there, her right hand glowing with the Green Flame of Faerie. Pressing her palm to the earth the ground seemed to catch fire only this fire didn’t burn. It spread quickly throughout the cavern, covering the dirt floor before creeping up the sides of the walls and engulfing the entire space. In its wake on the ground the softest of mosses began to grow, interspersed with wildflowers, forming a fragrant carpet that spread to every part of the cavern, surrounding the crystal outcroppings without covering or overpowering them.

Around them the cavern was lighting up, each crystal the green flame touched burned to life to emit its own unique hue. Blues, greens, purples, pinks, reds; all shades and hues appearing and merging together in an oddly muted glow that made the cavern sparkle as if they were inside a diamond. Over the entrance to the massive cavern grew a tangle flowered and thorned vines that would ensure none would enter save those who had been granted admittance.

Rising to her feet she neared her lover and pressed her lips to his in a lingering kiss of gratitude for finding them the perfect home before turning and approaching the large crystal formation at the back of the cavern. It sat upon a naturally raised dais of equally sparkling stone and stepping onto it she turned to face him, hesitating a moment before sitting down.

“I hope I shall be as fine a Queen as my Grandmother, Morgaine. We will provide a refuge for fae who have no other home or sanctuary, those who care enough to keep the tenets of Faerie and Avalon alive and I shall call us….”Pausing a moment to consider she finally smiled before easing herself down into the throne like crystal seat, a soft pulse of energy haloing her in light as if to say she was always meant to sit there.

“I shall call us…the Court of the Crystal Cavern.”

A shaky hand was raised so she could wipe at her eyes, it was only then that she realized that it was blood she came away with on her fingertips.

All grogginess went away as her eyes widened. Slicking the blood between her fingers, she sat up and nearly hit her head on the iron bars of the cage, and it was then that she felt the cold, sharp pain rip through her midsection. Turning her multi-hued eyes down at her stomach and the rod that protruded from her flesh.

A ragged gasp, which caused even more pain to rip through her, parted her lips and she moved to stand. When she found that her feet couldn't support her, she fell back onto her rear as the panic set in. Her hands fumbled at the rod, which seemed to burn more and more as she came back to consciousness. She was in no state of mind to realize that the metal the rod was made of was causing much of the pain she felt. Finally realizing that she was in a makeshift cage, Donia quickly looked around. There was a body impaled on the pikes that made up the enclosure, which is where the liquid that was dripping on her came from. It was a young man, and that's all she could tell. His skin was grey and wrinkled and looked like it had been burned or something.

Her eyes fluttered as she tried to make sense of what was going on. Where was she? -Who- was she? Donia couldn't quite remember. She didn't remember anything before waking up on the cold floor. Shaking her head, she dropped her hands to the rod once more and she curled her fingers around it. She had to get it out of her. The skin around the wound was blackened and that same blackness was traveling through her veins so that it was very noticable beneath her irridescent skin. Tugging lightly, she felt her stomach lurch and she rolled over onto her side the best she could and she threw up what little was in her stomach, the pain was intense. Once the wave of red subsided, she gripped her hands on the rod again and tugged more forcefully and the metal slipped a few inches more and Donia bit back the wave of nausea.

Cracked lips parted and she closed her eyes before the world swam in red and black. Counting in her head, she just yanked the iron forcefully and soon it clattered to the floor and Donia retched again, though this time nothing came from her mouth, instead her midsection began bleeding profusely. Once the metal was out of her body, she clasped her hands over the wound as she laid on her back. Convinced she was going to die, her eyes opened again and she looked at the ceiling. Darkness danced across the edge of her vision and she waited for death to take her, but it never came. Instead, after some time of laying in a pool of her own blood, she lifted her hand to see that the wound, while still raw and ugly, had at least slowed in bleeding.

Finding the strength to pull herself to her feet, she slowly made her way to the body that hung lifeless atop the bars. Reaching out, she tore at the cloth that covered it and pulled strips big enough to wrap around her stomach. It was only then that she realized that she was naked.

Shaking her head, Donia took a labored breath and tried to find a way out. Brushing away a strand of hair that fell into her eyes, she padded toward the corner of the cell that she had woken up in. Even in the near-non existant light of her prison, her hair shimmered slightly in a rainbow of colors. Auburn, gold, honey, and chestnut, among others. It moved like it had a life of its own.

Reaching up, her hands hovered over the iron bars, and she could feel the reaction radiating against her skin. The bars, or rather the metal that made the bars was bad, that much she was certain. And something else that seemed certain, she was trapped.

Hours passed and she wasn't sure how or if she would even escape. But she needed to try. Even though the wound was now only seeping, she was still weakened by the iron cell and she looked up at the body that still hung from its bars. Head canting, she climed to her feet once more and approached it. Her head lilted from one way to the other, like a curious animal before she reached up to grip her small hands against the clothes that were left on the body. Balling her hands, she lifted her foot to rest against the section of bars that was covered by a strip of tattered pants. Using what strength she could muster, she pulled herself up and used the body as a shield.

Only a couple more feet and she could try and make her way over the bars. The cage itself was not tall, nor that big. But it was the bars that posed the challenge. It seemed like Donia, as well as the man hanging from them, had some sort of reaction to them, though she couldn't remember quite why. Just as she was about to throw her leg over the top, the body slipped down and she had to move quickly. Pushing off on the ball of her foot, she lept over the wall and landed too gracefully on the floor on the other side. Turning her head, she saw the body slide all the way down the bars so that his head was now on her side of the cage. Her eyes narrowed in thought as she studied the warped face.

He looked familiar, but she couldn't place him. Hell, she couldn't even remember her own name. Donia shook her head as she soon was looking for a way out of the darkened room. Her hands felt along the stone walls until she found a place where the wall broke, a bit more pressure and the door swung open and she almost tumbled right out.

And right beside her, was a large guard, with an even larger sword. When he saw her, he startled and jumped back before unsheithing the weapon and yelling.

"She's escaped!"

Donia's wide eyes blinked as she looked at the man, and she could hear others coming. Out of instinct, she reached out and grabbed the guard and her hands brushed the bare skin of his neck. Where her fingertips touched him, his skin sizzled and burned and he screamed and fell backward. The sword came down in a messy arc and sliced Donia across her shoulder as she turned to run away. The pain and force of the blow brought her to her knees and she clumsily skittered out of range of the guard.

She didn't have much time.

"How did she escape?!"

"I don't know! She came barreling through the door. She shouldn't have been able to get past the iron, let alone the one that was impaling her."

"WELL FIND OUT!" The voice boomed and the guard scrambled into the room as more men came and surrounded Donia.

It seemed to Donia, that she successfully escaped the frying pan and landed firmly into the fire.

It never even occured to Donia that she had been locked in a cage which was in a cave, sealed off from the outside world. But once the sun broke the clouds, she realized why she was left in the dark, so to speak.

When the sun hit her skin, it exploded into a burst of bright, warm light and the guards threw up their hands to sheild their eyes from it. Those closest to Donia jumped back, because the heat of her skin was more than that -- it was enough to burn them, like she had burned the first guard. The brightness grew and grew until Donia herself had to sheild her eyes.

What was going on?

There were things she wished she remembered, but it was nothing but darkness and pain when she tried. Bringing her hand up, she pressed fingertips into her temple as the sharp pain shot across her vision.

She had to escape.

Reaching out, she grabbed the hilt of one of the fallen swords and soon, she dropped it as the metal burned in her hand. The slight moment of pain caused the light that surrounded her to dim and it was enough time for a man dressed entirely in black to grab her from behind and yank the smaller woman back toward the cave.

"Get her out of the sun! NOW!" Came the same booming voice as before.

Lips parted, and Donia tried to speak, but no words came out. Just low growlish grunts as she tried fighting the larger man. He was so heavily covered that she could not find skin nor a break in his clothing enough to try what she did on the first guard. So she did what else came naturally, she brought her arm up and threw her elbow back and landed a solid hit right in the man's nose. The blow came unexpectedly and his grip faultered enough so that Donia could wriggle free.

Donia hit the ground running.

Not knowing where she was or where she was going, she just ran. Her feet hit the ground like she was floating, though there would be no hiding from anyone since she looked like a glowing star as she ran. And just as hot.

It wouldn't be long before they would send others more prepared to capture her, and it was on pure survival instinct that Donia's will to escape grew. She didn't know why they wanted her, but she knew she didn't want them to get her, and that's all that mattered to her right then.

Breaking into the woods, she ran as fast as her feet could take her. And surprisingly enough, the trees seemed to move out of her way. Her footprints left small burnt patches that soon healed themselves as if nature itself wanted her escape. Not knowing how long she had been running, she stumbled into a clearing with a thrum of energy pulsing right in the middle. It caused Donia to stumble to a stop and she looked at it with the same curiosity as she looked at the man's body that aided in her escape.

Catching her breath, she circled the energy and reached out to touch it. It gave slightly and rippled like water in the air.

Odd.

A sound broke her concentration and she turned her head to see a rather large creature breach the clearing. She knew that animal. The large dog-like creature was covered in razor sharp fur and it's teeth stood out against the darkness. Red eyes narrowed on her and its head bowed back and a skin crawling howl set forth from its monstrous maw.

Eyes widening, Donia didn't know what to do. Once the beast found her, she didn't think she had the strength to try and escape again. She was too injured, and her energy was too depleated. She could feel it edging on her vision. That wave of darkness that hit her before.

Donia did the only thing she could think of to do. She pushed her hands into the energy just as the first man came into the clearing. Surprisingly enough, the energy was a portal and Donia fell right in.

Though weakened, she had enough energy riding her body that the portal imploded once she fell fully inside and there was nothing left but the sound of crackling on the air just as the sweep of the blade tore through where Donia was standing just moments before.

Where she would end up was anyone's guess. The man cursed and reigned in the beast. "She's gone! Gather the council of mages, learn where this portal leads!" He yelled back into the forest.

On the other side, Donia broke through and tumbled across the ground in a broken heap. Even though she could not control her own energy, she was too weak and the heat and light that had blinded those who chased her was now down to a low glow as she laid on the ground.

Unconsciousness had taken her, so when she awoke once more, twilight was on the air and she took a moment to gather her bearings before lifting her head to look at her surroundings. It was a few moments more before she could push her hands against the ground and bring herself to her feet. Even then, she faultered and caught herself on a near by tree until the dizziness subsided.

A soft groan and she brought her hand up to her head and her palm pressed against her forehead.

Where was she?

Turning her gaze around, she tried to see if there was anything familiar. Sadly, nothing came to her. Just like everything else.

Pushing off from the tree, she stumbled into the forest, little did she know that she landed in the Eastern Lands of Spring within the land of Aleris.

That might as well be Timbuctu as far as Donia was concerned. She just wanted to get as far away from where she landed as she could. Once she could trust her feet to not give way under her, she pressed forward and began to make her way clumsily through the trees.

Famished and weakened, Donia didn't know if she would even survive. She was in too much pain to even care at that point. The wound that pierced her stomach began to bleed more, and it caused a wave of nausea to hit Donia and she gripped a rock so she didn't fall. Her stomach lurched and she proceeded to expell blood from her mouth.

This wasn't good at all.

The iron poisoning was still running through her veins, it could be seen winding its way up her neck and across her chest. Coughing and gagging, Donia sunk down to her knees and coughed until her whole body shook before spitting more blood onto the mossy ground below. She knew she couldn't go on, and it was then that she knew that there was no way she would escape this. But her energy and her whole being thought otherwise as it leeched out from her and tried to locate the closest thing to her own.

There were two other faeries close, but that was something Donia couldn't pick up on. She was too close to passing out again to notice. Then again, she was too far gone to really care.

Nimue's voice resonated from somewhere in the cottage, not that she ever seemed to mind. If anything she smiled more to herself as she slid the bracelets that she'd made up her arms. The soft dangling leather strands dangled prism like crystals down her arms from the silver bracelets that Father had given her for her birthday. The crystaline pendant that her mother had given her dangled from her throat as she shifted her head from side to side glancing in the mirror she sat before. Today was a good day, today was a day for an adventure.

Lanie was excited, Kisa showed to be unique although she was all too aware of the girl's thoughts at times. She was leary, wary and even hesitant to trust what was unknown. Her sisters were unknown to her what's more, they were given the chances, that she was not. Which was why it seemed almost second nature for her to run to her and be the one to chase and play to try to bring the free spirited if not choatic nature of her half sister's sidhe nature.

Carefree was her way of life as she danced about her room. Her caramel brown hair brushed down her back with it's natural coffee dark strands and the almost streaked gentle golden strands. Creating a natural ginger like fire of hair in the light of the sun. The simple dress she wiggled into and laced of the back hugged up her spine. The sound of a soft whiney from the window made her walk over. Spirit was waiting for her but then it always seemed to be waiting.

Perhaps it is the destiny of the Le Fey to be that much unique, just that much more different then what the mortal world's ideal of the norm. Normal was flacidly boring in her mind, she wanted no Needed the color, the shift and change. Like the equinox that she as born to. The vivid change of color always brightened her day. Pushing open her window she extended her hand out and placed it upon the soft muzzle of the beautiful creature that was waiting her company.

Spirit, was but a baby foundling colt like creature when she'd found it tangled within the brambles. Tangled and choking, it's body was limp and it was those faint little whiney's that had brought her to investigate. At the time she'd been learning from her father how to climb a tree. When suddenly she'd leapt and bounded off without a warning, a word. Something that had instilled a great deal of curiousity as to what had drawn her away from family play to something else.

Finding the baby she was appauled at it's poor condition. It was also then she started to learn that like her mother, she too had gifts. Gifts that warmed her heart as she touched upon it's muzzle then. The pain it felt flooded her senses until her toes curled. Her teeth clenched down as she felt the fear, the pain and oddly it's acceptance that the darkest touch in nature was drawing near. It was that acceptance for one so small, so young that spurred her on. Sliding the bracelet that she now wore off. She'd used the crystal's edges to free the brambles from the little white creature.

After a while she freed the little one and gathered it to her. Heavy, much to heavy for her at the young age. She'd stripped off her dress and gently set it on it. Gripping her sleaves. She'd drug it home, mind you the look on her father, sister and mother's face made the incident almost worth it. A bloody little girl with a determined look in her eye dragging something on her now filthy and shreaded dress.
"Daddy, please help me.." She'd asked in a wobbly voice that belied the determination in her eyes.

That determination to keep the creature living, to not let it have to live in that acceptance of death helped a great deal. Time probably was an irrelevant thing and yet in that time to a small child that found a playmate , a friend. It was important which was probably the only reason her father hadn't put the creature down. It might have been best, but she'd devoted herself to helping it ever since, the first touch.

Days passed and she nurtured the little one until it could once again be free. It's parents had found it, found she was caring for it but took it home with them. Since that day the one she called Spirit, came to visit and play. Her friend that would allow her, her sister and parents to ride upon it's beautiful pearlesque back. The shining silver of it's mane and tail brushed out by their loving hands. Fed treats that made it nuzzle and come back for more. Yes spirit was free to come and go, but it always came to visit it's friends.

"Why do you call the horse spirit? " She'd been asked once and her smile lit up her face. "Because it had the spirit to accept something cruel, the heart to know that love would come to save it. And the dream that someday it would be able to serve the greatest Lady of them all." She mumbled and pointed to the picture of Grandmother upon the wall. "She's special too, when you close your eyes and let your heart talk to her, you see her for what she truely is.."

A curious expression crossed her father's face but she tilted her head and lead him outside. With her small hand in his, she'd touched gently upon Spirit's shining coat. "Freedom is but a dream away." The horse nodded and with a soft flash of light... A glamour that was placed upon it was lifted.

"Only the innocent, those that love with their hearts and actions see the truth. They can do no wrong." She mumbled in explaination as the soft feathers of Spirit's wings extended as if they had been there all along. They'd embraced the little girl and lifted her onto it's back. A glittering golden horn cast a light upon the meadowy area. "See.... Spirit its more then it appears. Just like all of Avalon.. Is more then it appears, when you don't look in the right places." Her smiles then were like it was now.

The remonistic dream faded away from her eyes and she looked at Spirit after so many years later. It was still the same, she'd grown, so had it. Through it all the creature was a vast part of the family. It came and went as it should, but it remained close to those that saved it.

So when Kisa and her beau had moved to the new land, to set up another Court. She was curious like a kitten. Her small bag was packed with a few dresses, pants, her books and journal. What's more she kept that silver backed brush she used upon Spirit. Oddly, she had faith that her friend would still follow her even to a new place. Well if Nimue let it that was. Who knew, as she tossed in her small box of trinkets that Kisa had given her for her last birthday. She was ready to go.

"Are you ready like I am for a great adventure Spirit? Or is it time you settled with your family?" She inquired. The others like Spirit, it's family wandered the forests, the dreams of the innocent and lit the imagination of those like her that wanted only to see and believe there was light in everything. A whiney was her greeting. "Well perhaps we could go for another ride." She laughed and jumped out the window onto it's back. "Let's fly!" She laughed and without thought of anything else wandered freely.

Hours would pass before she returned, Such was nothing new for her to wander off at any given time.
"Are you done playing yet?" Came a familiar exasperated sound. "Who? Me? " She grinned brilliantly and wandered for the portal that would take her to find her sibling and her companion. "Momma, can Spirit come visit me still.." She'd paused and asked, she was sure that her mother would. After all, Spirit was part of her as she was it.

His anger remained, though it was momentarily distracted as he slipped the covers off them.
She knew his gaze moved across her underwear clad body. Anger mingled with arousal and her body momentarily answered to that cloud of lust. It was not unpleasant so she did not immediately shut it out of her mind. Thus, when his anger surged again, she was vulnerable and her hands balled into fists. She shoved herself up and left the bed.

"What is it, Brie?" He asked innocently.

She turned and looked at him. He was so popular, so good looking... so everything that any of her fellow classmates wanted in their own bed. He came from wealth and a proud Irish heritage. All her sorority sisters girl talked with her when she was present, then with anger in their jealousy behind her back, all about her luck in being with Bradley. Brie and Bradley. The perfect couple.

It took but a moment for her to soothe out the human emotions that cluttered her mind. She could call him on his anger but a confrontation wasn't exactly what she was looking for.
"Just a little cold is all," she answered as she pulled out a t shirt and slipped it over her head. His anger resurfaced and she got the full brunt of his emotions, not only anger but embarrassment, frustration and a large portion of rejection. She shivered as she let them roll off her back, but feelings this strong seemed to ooze across her skin.

"I can keep you warm." Ah, so he was giving it one last try. She grimaced as she turned her face away from him. No matter what she responded he was going to be mad.

She tried for lighting up the mood anyway and gave a soft laugh, "I know you can, but I was thinking about taking a shower before we go to sleep. I never took one after the gym earlier."
She heard him move on the bed and glanced over her shoulder to find him laying on his back frowning at the ceiling. She thought she might slip out...

"Do you not want to have sex with me?" Damn. She paused just a few steps from the door and sighed. He continued, "Because you just keep telling me you've saved yourself for the right man. We've been dating for nearly 9 months now Bridget, it's kind of a long time to go without sex you know."

She slid a pair of shorts on and ducked her head to hide her face as she rolled her eyes, "I wouldn't know, darling. It's been 22 years for me." she replied quietly. He was not amused.
"Well? Am I not the right man?" Strange, he was actually afraid of asking that question. Somewhere underneath all those hormones was the man he was going to grow up to be and she found that she liked the glimpse of it. She walked back over on the bed and crawled up over him, sliding her hands across his bare chest.

"Bradly, I am very attracted to you. Very," she leaned in a laid a lingering kiss across his lips. "I want to have sex with you, but it just hasn't felt right yet. I just need time..."

She gave him another peck and left him to sulk, slipping out of her dorm and heading toward the small wooded area behind her dorm. It was natural for her to head toward forests, or the best imitation of one as she could get, when she was wanting to calm down. Plants and trees did not leave an emotional residue on her mind and any animal hiding in the shadows was generally calm. Sometimes they could be a bit wary but she could deal with wary.

There was a perfect sitting spot right about in the midst of this wooded acre. A large hard wood tree boasted a large smooth surfaced rock right against its trunk. She sat on it and leaned against the trunk, finally able to listen to only her own emotions.

Bradley had been on her about the sex thing for a good 3 months now. It was difficult for her to deal with him and to keep telling him no. It's not that she didn't want to have sex, it's just that she much preferred for her first time, her first touch... not to be a human man. Sex with a human could be the same brand of magic if they were more than human, someone with extra abilities like her father. But Bradley did not possess any of these kind of extra abilities.

Perhaps it really was time to end it with Bradley... Though she --

Suddenly her emotions were joined by another. Nervous, flighty, but too concentrated for an animal. She sat up and glanced upward, for she felt that they stemmed from there. There in the shadows of the tree limbs was the slightest flutter.

"Hello," she said softly in that direction.

There was a second of hesitation, then a flutter of wings as the small pixie vaulted out of the tree to come in front of her. Her own heart rate increased in reaction to the pixie's anxiety. "I welcome you, my little friend." the words meaning to soothe.

The small winged woman bobbed up and down, her brown curls bouncing around her face. "Sister of Kisa Le Fey, I am Meadowsweet. I bring you word from my lady Kisa."
Bridget smiled at her. "Say your words then, Meadowsweet."

The pixie was calming and when Bridget held out a hand to her, she landed daintily on it. "My lady Kisa has chosen a new home, a home which she would share with her sisters. She has founded the Court of the Crystal Cavern and given you invitation to take your place at her side. It is in the realm of Aleris." Her little body glowed a faint blue color and her wings began to flutter excitedly, she was pleased with herself since she had delivered her message.

"I can guide you there, if it is your wish my Lady Bridget."

There really was nothing to consider. She was ready to get back to Faerie and she graduated from Trinity tomorrow. She dipped her head at Meadowsweet, "Give me two days, we will go then. Meet me here at twilight."

The two days were busy days. Bridget graduated from Trinity College University in Dublin and spent the evening partying and saying goodbye to the good friends she had made. She did not make it to her dorm room until the sun was out on the second day. Bradley came back with her, pulling her into his arms as soon as they were alone in her room.
His lips were insistent when they captured hers and his hands determined when they stroked across her body. Bridget enjoyed the arousal that rose in both of them, but soon pulled back to look into his gaze.

"I am leaving tonight."

"Oh. Well we have to be out of the dorm by this weekend anyway."

"No Bradley, I am leaving, really leaving. And where I am going I cannot take you. I am breaking up with you."

The next hour was a blur of red hazy anger and regret. He begged, pleaded. Bridget realized that he thought he would actually marry her since they were done with school. He had made plans for his life with her in them. She hated hurting him, but her heart just wasn't involved the way that it should be with him. He finally slammed out of her room in disgust.

By the time she stood back out in the wooded acre to meet Meadowsweet, she had had little sleep and was a little stressed out. The little pixie shot out of the sky and hovered excitedly in front of her face.

"I have sent word! Lady Kisa knows you are on your way! Come, it will take days yet to get there! Come come!"

Bridget could not help but smile as she picked up the little fey's excitement. She picked up her things and followed Meadowsweet in their first few steps towards Aleris. She found that the stress she had carried with her quickly dissolved. This human life just wasn't meant for her and she had known it somehow all along.

Though she might be half human, she did not think like one. Her human friends would age, their bodies would grow old and eventually give out on them. Oh some of the fey did seem to age if they spent long enough away from Faery, but it was more like their lives simply fading.

She had no wish to fade into a normal human life.

________

Meadowsweet twirled and flipped in the air in front of her as they drew closer to the entrance of the Crystal Caverns. Aleris had been anything she could have hoped for so far. It was a relief to drop her glamour once they stepped through the portal. The guards paused for just a moment when she stepped through.

They saw the blue light of the flying pixie first, but behind her was an undeniably Sidhe woman behind her. Bridget had a tall and willowy frame, though she was considered a bit short for most Sidhe women. Her hair a glossy, moonbeam silver color of blonde. It tumbled in long elegant layers across her shoulders and far down her back, though there were short enough layers to frame her face. A face with flawless complexion save for the lightest dusting of freckles across her nose and right under the inside corners of her eyes, just enough to betray some human blood. And above those freckles, eyes of classic blue.
She was not a generously curved woman, but every step, every movement was done with fairy grace. The guards had been informed of her arrival so they did not try to hinder her, even if they did watch her until she was out of sight.

Now that they grew closer to the caverns, she grew somewhat nervous and knew that it was no empathicly gained emotion. She and Kisa had not yet bonded. In a way, Bridget understood the distance that Kisa had put between them. But a small part of her frequently grew frustrated, it was not her fault that they had such different lives.

Her thoughts dropped off as they entered her new home, the Cavern. Her breath stilled when the brilliance of color washed across her skin. Her body thrummed with the power that this ground reverberated around her. She suddenly realized that when Kisa founded her Court her, the magic of Faery had moved for her. These caves were making themselves into a Sithen.

She walked into the midst of the large first room with her eyes closed. Her head tilted back and her arms lifted palms upward. It was like being completely refreshed. It washed over her skin and tingled into the tips of her hair. It was home and it was welcoming her to it. Her breath slipped out in a shaky sigh of pleasure.

Meadowsweet seemed to experience the same and landed on Bridget's shoulder, drunkenly leaning back against her neck. She giggled in small bell tones as Bridget lowered her arms once more and looked around for her sisters, or anyone else that may be in residence.

With the power rushing uninhibited through her, her empathic ability had become more sensitive. Someone, somewhere, was in much pain. It slammed into her and she let out a pained scream, sinking to her knees and clutching her own stomach as the same nausea rolled in her own body. "...they need help."

They’d grown up in the human world as well as the fae realm so it was possible they would have no desire to leave either of those worlds behind. Ultimately the choice was theirs.

Bridget was the first to arrive. Her timing was interesting as Kisa was, at the moment of Bridget’s arrival, only 5 inches tall and had wings. Normally this was not a form she took. It was not a form any in her family had the ability to take and one she could not take until that very day. A pair of enchanted rings spelled by her Grandparents, Morgaine and Merlin, given to she and her lover, Risclix, allowed them to merge certain elements of their powers and thus she gained the form to become 5 inches tall and take wings, and Risclix (who until now could only take human sized form during dawn and dusk, the rest of the time spent at 6 inches tall) would no longer be bound to the “tween” times and would be able to change size at will.

Sensing the vines release the wards to the entrance and admit someone into the cavern she rose from the bed within the small castle that was once a clock, Risclix’s personal space when he was in smaller form. A few moments later the call of a frantic pixie was heard from the other end of the corridor connecting her private chambers to the main cavern of the Court. There were many corridors branching off of the large crystal studded cavern leading to a honeycomb of smaller rooms where those who were granted asylum in the Court would be given chambers. Her own chosen living quarters was a larger room at the end of a corridor that opened up into the cavern to the right of the crystal throne in the main cavern and was the only room to branch off of that particular corridor.

Responding to the frantic calls of the pixie she recognized as the one sent to escort Bridget she rose from the bed within the castle that she shared with Risclix and using her new found (though not yet mastered) ability to fly she took off from the castle with Risclix close behind her. Unfortunately her mastery of being able to shift from large to small form, and back, was not quite where she would like it to be and in midflight the mauve mist over took her and transformed her to her standard size….10 feet above the ground.

A muffled thud along with a string of annoyed curses that sounded suspiciously like the angry mutterings one hears from a feline when riled was heard and a minute later Kisa appeared at the entrance of the corridor, a gossamer sheet wrapped around her otherwise nude body, tucked up under her arms and held in place with gathered fistfuls of the silken material. Her face framed in tousled honey blonde curls left nothing to the imagination as to what she and Risclix had been up too, the man in question following behind Kisa, also in his human sized form though he had had the presence of mind to pull on a pair of pants before following the impetuous feline into the main cavern.

Seeing Bridget crumpled to her knees in pain brought Kisa to her side immediately where she dropped to her own knees next to her sister, her hands coming to rest on her shoulders as she sought to determine just what was causing her sister such distress. Meadowsweet, the pixie who had escorted Bridget, hovered over the woman’s head as she quickly explained what she knew.

”I do not believe it is her pain, my Queen. She spoke of another’s pain, in the forest I believe.”

Recalling Bridget’s empathic abilities she nodded quickly in response to Meadowsweet’s explanation, her mind already assessing the situation and determining the next course of action. Turning gleaming peridot eyes upon Risclix she inclined her head towards the entrance and the forest beyond.

“Will ye take a look, Slick?”

He was strong, stronger than most fae as he was half vampire, and he was also a forest fae and had a unique skill in navigating the woods not to mention he was quite able to defend himself in physical combat should something untoward occur. Without hesitation he nodded and with a grin she knew was a result of his ability to shift forms at will (rather than being restricted to dawn and dusk) and seconds later he hovered before her, his black bats wings holding him aloft before he blew her a kiss and turned to zip towards the entrance with a speed she downright envied.

“Show off,”she grumbled beneath her breath before fixing those cat green eyes on Meadowsweet. “Go with him, keep a watchful eye and assist as you are able.” Whoever was out there might not be alone and an extra set of watchful eyes that can fly as high as you need them too might come in handy. With Risclix and Meadowsweet off to investigate she tightened her grip on Bridget, drawing her sister closer to her body as she cast a protective barrier around herself and Bridget, an attempt to block whatever the stranger in the woods was feeding her sister. She herself was not empathic and she had no knowledge on her sister’s education as far as controlling her empathy, if she had shields to countermand the more negative emotions or not, and sought to help where she could.

“Once you are able to stand we’ll find ye a room to call ye own, Brie. There are so many beautiful smaller caverns to explore, I know ye’ll find one to ye’re liking.” Her words were soft, her gentle Scottish brogue meant to sooth as she attempted to distract Brie from the pain she felt.

Unsure of how much time had passed Risclix eventually returned with Meadowsweet in tow, once again in his larger human sized form as he had been forced to shift to carry the woman now cradled in his arms. Her wounds were extensive and she was unconscious when Risclix entered with her. Rising to her feet she approached the badly wounded woman, the energy of the fae surrounded her, she was obviously a faery and reaching out to rest a single hand on her shoulder Kisa knew exactly what kind of faery she was. She was a half breed but that wasn’t what struck her about the woman’s heritage.

“Unseelie,” she announced. Whoever the woman was she was born of the Unseelie races within Faerie. Unlike most of the Seelie Court she had no personal grudge against the Unseelie. Because she was keeper of both the Black and Green flames she understood the balance provided by the darker side of Faerie and did not blame them for it. Her own Court would have no official affiliation with either the Seelie or Unseelie but that being said, she knew quite well the Unseelie were capable of causing mischief and discord even if they held no personal quarrel with you. The faery was wounded but she knew those wounds could have possibly been delivered in defense of whatever this faery intended.

She would not turn the faery away, especially as she was not conscious and capable of telling her side of the story, but neither would she allow her newly established Court to be threatened by an unknown. Quickly making a decision she met Risclix’s gaze.

“Let’s take her to one of the rooms deeper in the mountain, towards the back. We’ll make her comfortable and tend to her wounds but I wish her secluded and secured until she awakens and we can determine who she is and what her business is in our woods.”

An hour later the faery (Donia) was settled in a smaller crystal studded chamber deep into the mountain and separated from most of the other chambers that could be utilized for living quarters. A bed had been constructed and the worst of her wounds tended too. Her natural ability to heal would take care of the rest. For the moment she rested comfortably and leaving Peaseblossom (one of the pixies that served her) to watch over her the room was warded against the possibility that Donia would awaken and get it in her head to go wandering. The moment she was awake and tried to leave the room, she would be stopped and Kisa would know about it.

Returning to the main cavern where the others awaited it still had not occurred to her that she was clutching a gossamer sheet to her body to hide her nudity which, luckily, was not the issue around the fae that it was around others. With Donia settled in a magically sealed room the effect she could have on Bridget was nullified and smiling at her younger sister she gestured around the grand cavern that would be the future seat of their Court.

“Welcome to the Court of the Crystal Cavern, Brie. I’m glad you decided to join us.”

It was only with her mother's assention did she grab her satchel and climb onto Spirit. Feeling lazy she didn't want to do do and go about things the cheating way. Through the portal the two went, a girl and her companion. Contentness and happiness coursed through her veins as she thought of the great adventures she was going to have in her mind.

Spirit whined and got her attention to the ground. Something was wrong with something as they soared in the sky but spirit's actions lead her to head downwards and soon they were galloping through the forests. The scent of her sisters were present so she knew she had the right place. Herself and spirit slowed up the place to look around. The mountain in the distance and the forests.

Sliding off the pegasus she walked upon the ground. Her bare feet nestling within the fallen leaves. Tenderly shifting off the sharp rocks and sticks as she walked. One hand on the beautiful white creature at her side. It was more fore reasons that most wouldn't understand. She was feeling what he was, understanding his thoughts and the wandering ways.

"Something was hurt but it seems to be better, we should probably find Viv... Kisa soon huh?" She murmured to the majestic steed and his thoughts of acceptance washed over her. Fingers caressed over the wings and the glamour slid so easily into place hiding the wings away to just make it a pretty horse. Protecting her companion was something she did without even thought after all this time with spirit as her friend. Along the way birds pirched upon spirit's back, her shoulders and hair.

The cornicopia of colors drew their attention. The auburns, reds, cinnamons and decadent rich shades of gold, blond and silver entangled within the chocolate and earthern browns always seemed to attract birds. At times they plucked a few strands from her head not that she'd stop them.

One of them told her of a pretty blonde down the way and a midget she had with her. Laughing her tinkling bell sound voice resonated.
"Kisa has a midget huh? Must be her friend and companion." Her laughter kept with her as she drew well within hearing range of her siblings. The cloak about her shoulders was pulled to her a bit more to seem modest even if her lips held that impish bit of a grin.

Her fingers and left hand extended outwardly and light bathed her path more. Simple light spells it was one of the few things that she would do when not around those that didn't believe around magic. Light was what lead the way, through the darkest of nights, she liked the way it made things glitter, sparkle and shine.

Touch is powerful. The brush of skin against skin always made any empathic senses stronger for her. So when Kisa touched her, it was much easier to push those invading frantic emotions out of her own mind. Bridget really only needed a moment to gather herself again.

Those foreign emotions drained out completely once Kisa used her own abilities to isolate she and Bridget in a protective barrier. Also the warded vines had by then taken full coverage of the entry way after Risclix and Meadowsweet had flown through.

Bridget tilted her blue gaze up to her sister's face and gave her a tired smile. “Thank you.”

She sat up under her own power then and looked on with blessed detachment now that her mind was her own again as Risclix brought Donia inside. She agreed with Kisa's initial conclusion. Unseelie indeed. That one would have to watched out for. She rises to her feet, absently wondering if an Unseelie mind effected her more than a Seelie. Their magic was normally much more wild. She gave a half shrug, it was an interesting thought.

Yet from the moment she had met her sister Kisa she had the same impression of wild magic, but Kisa's mind was normally soothing. She rarely picked up stronger emotions from her sister. Maybe it was because of the shared blood.

While they spent time getting Donia situated, Bridget wandered around her new home. The colors that the crystals cast through the air were breath taking. Her own skin reacted to the light, glittering with a diamonds and cream complexion. Magic ran just under the surface here. Some full Sidhe she had met almost always glowed, so healthy they were with power. But being half mortal kept her looking not quite so fantastical. It was pleasing to see a hint of that in her skin now.

She had eventually circled back to the main chamber when Kisa entered again. This time the smile lit up her entire face, “I'm just happy that you asked me to join you, Kisa.”

There was a moment of hesitation, then Brie closed the distance between them and pulled Kisa into a very mortal gesture, a hug. She was enough fae that nudity did not bother her in the least, but had lived among humans enough to demonstrate some of their habits. Her arms squeezed briefly before she tilts her head back to look at Kisa's face again.

“It's beautiful here!”

Then she jerks her head toward the entrance, sensing that Elphlane is drawing closer.

Donia was unaware what had gone on, but she began to slowly regain consciousness only to see that she was in yet another place and she immediately began to panic. "No..." she mewled and groaned as she looked around. No more cages and locked rooms, though this wasn't so much a room but a cave of sorts. Looking around, she sat up and noticed her wounds were well and healed.

How long had she been out this time?

Shaking her head, she brought herself to her feet and approached the opening to the area she was held in, holding her hands out cautiously as if she was trying to make sure something wouldn't reach out and bite her.

"Hello?" She called out and looked around once more before moving to the entrance to the chamber she was stuck in. Moss covered ground was a different feeling under her feet and she casted her gaze to the crystals that dazzled around her.

Caoime's memories were coming back slowly. At least she knew who she was, and that was a start. Whatever they did to her through her mind for a loop, but for some reason she felt oddly at peace even though she was currently locked in a room in an unknown place.

Donia could not help what she was, she was a product of a mistake. Her sidhe mother had slept with something in fae that was less than desirable, and she was the result. But even then, she never knew either of her parents -- or so she thought. Her memory was still rather fuzzy.

"May I ask where I am?" She knew that someone had to be on the other side of the opening when she reached out once more and attempted to pass through when something stopped her and she jumped back.

A startled look crossed her features and she canted her head a bit and reached up to brush her wild mane of rapidly shifting hair from her face, her lips twitched to show just the tips of her slightly elongated canines. "Let me out of here!" Her voice held an odd accent, one that really couldn't be placed in any place or time. But her voice was a tad deeper than one would expect. Still feminine, just not the bell-like tones that would match someone of her stature.

"I did nothing to you!"

Where she was at looked not like the iron cage she woke up in before, but it still held that feeling of confinement. It was too nice to be the men that captured her and the other one before, but it was still perplexing to her. Licking her dry lips, she approached the opening again though she didn't touch it this time. Furrowing her brows, she hovered her hands and shook her head.

"Please? Anyone?" She would probably try breaking herself out again, but something was different. This didn't feel like a prison like the last time. Maybe someone would hear her and let her out so she could ask her questions -- or explain. At least try to.
