Aleris Experiences Rise in Population
The once quiet and somewhat sleepy hamlet of Aleris has recently begun to experience a sudden rise in population. As always this will no doubt spark a rash of theories as to what has caused this sudden boom in the populace but we all know who and what is to blame.
Immigrants.
And these are not just any immigrants from another country or island. These particular immigrants come from someplace much more distinctive then that. The Outer Gates of Aleris. King Alerion, who was not available for comment at the time this article was written, has opened up the Outer Gates and allowed other realms, dimensions, kingdoms, and empires to join with Aleris by establishing a permanant portal that leads into Aleris and by granting the ruling bodies of these worlds permission to build embassies right here on Alerian soil.
Thus far five realms have opened a permanant portal into Aleris, most notably the Eternal Empire and Navidium. Each world has already sent a contingent into Aleris and the rulers of the Eternal Empire have already begun negotiations on a large gated estate for the purpose of building the Embassy that will house their rulers and citizens when in residence in Aleris.
The question that begs to be asked, however, is how exactly will this effect Aleris and Alerian citizens? Will we soon be greeted to a chorus of "Those immigrants stole my job!" or will this usher in a new era of cultural diversity and trade for the island bound Alerians? This could potentially open up new avenues of revenue for the Alerian merchants as well as possibilities for travel to worlds they might never have experienced before.
Then again, Aleris and its citizens are no stranger to interdimensional travel and have played host to dimensional travelers before, but never before at this magnitude.
How this will effect Aleris in the long run is as yet unknown but you can rest assured, I'll be watching.
