"In the meantime," Elijah began, finishing the sentence for the man next to him, "get rid of Shimmer Town, then the rest of Elved and then... Aleris."

"And the children?"

Elijah offered a shrug. "Appetizers?"

[Timeline: A few days after her arrival]

Every place had their religions. Every culture had their views on the way things worked. How the seasons came and went and what made their world go forward.

Ariadne's father was Mayan, being a quetzel, he was special to them. In their legends, his kind brought the summer in and welcomed autumn when summer ended. Fiery spirits and chaos ruled their people, but all of that died along with its people, and when her father was killed all hope for who was left of that culture was lost.

That is, until Ariadne was born. She had the opportunity to keep with her fate. Even though said fate was unknown to her. And she was in a new land, which meant she knew they would not hold the same beliefs. Ariadne had read a lot in the last few days, she owed Morlis more than he knew for telling her of who -- what she was.

A few days passed and she stayed to herself mostly, within the Villa in Italy where Morlis had given her shelter. It was only when she felt as if she had mourned enough that she ventured out. Seeking out portals that would lead her into Aleris itself, she wandered during the day and into the night only to return when the sun chased the moon from the sky.

Every day that passed, she changed a bit more. First it was her hair, it went from an ink-like onyx to a deep bright emerald and it was all feathers instead of sporatically placed feathers. Next it was the down-like scattering of 'fuzz' along her skin in places, it was a deep absinthe colored, but it shifted when the light hit it. Then her eyes, they changed to an almost clear green lined in brighter lime-like lashes. When she looked at herself, she thought she looked like a freak. But, Morlis reassured her that this was not the case and she shouldn't think that way. She didn't have the ability to shift yet, or to glamour herself into looking at least a little more human.

It would all come in time, she was sure of it. As is, she had only known exactly WHAT she was for a couple days. But in normal teenage fashon, she was impatient and wanted to know everything right away. Ariadne knew she had to change and learn. It would take time, like anything worth it's weight in this life.

It was by accident that she stumbled upon the Temple of Summer. And by accident, she stumbled into the fog and lost her bearings. The only salvation she had was the glimpse of a great fire off in the distance. This was one of those times she wished she could fly.

But, curious in nature, she ventured closer. Curiosity -- Among many of the emotions she had been feeling lately fueled her actions. She had not had a normal childhood, so growing up she didn't have the chance to feel or act like anyone else her age. But she was wise, and stayed her anger -- for now. Then again, she was purely unpredictable when it came to what she was thinking or how she would act.

Teeth worried at her lower lip and she turned those brilliantly hued eyes around as she inched closer and closer to the growing flame. Her feet crunched over the lifeless ground as she reached a great stone wall on the other side of the fire.

It was getting late, and she knew she should begin to head back, but she couldn't keep herself from venturing further. It took time, but she rounded the great structure until she came upon the origin of the flame -- the tip of a grand temple.

Quickly, she stepped back and looked up as the flames flowed like molten lava down the front of the temple and she stared in awe as it seemed to leave an opening for her. Questioning in her head whether or not she should enter, that curiosity won out once more.

Careful steps brought heeled booted feet closer to the entrance created by her presence. "Huh." She mused to herself as she looked all around before cautiously stepping foot into the temple. The minute she stepped inside, she was already confused as the maze of doors welcomed her and the 'entrance' behind her disappeared.

A startled sound parted her lips and she jumped. Pride won over and she squelched the sound as quick as it came. Turning her gaze around, she inched her way through one of the doors, but once it closed her surroundings changed.

"Whoa." Green eyes widened as she looked around. "Did I step through the looking glass?" She murmured to herself before the echo of a scream made her jump and her jaw clenched enough so that she tasted the copper bite of blood filling her mouth. Which let loose the bit of anger and she called out to whatever it was that was changing the rooms. "I get it! I get it! Stop changing on me already!" She huffed softly. Young as she may be, she was wiser than she let on. Sometimes.

This.. Well, this may not be one of her better moments.

The screams continued, but they didn't seem to unnerve the girl, they caused the curiosity and the drive to figure out where she had found herself to grow. Little did she know that maybe the legends were right.

The Quetzel was drawn to the Summer once again. Full of its fiery, unpredictable nature. In all the confusion, she felt comfortable for some reason. It was an odd feeling, like she should be here. That she could somehow figure out why she was there.

"I don't even know where I am, let alone why I was drawn here, but I know that I was and it feels.. Right." She spoke, not to herself, but to whoever might be listening. Someone or something was behind this, and Ariadne wanted to know who -- or what it was. Something inside of her pulled her to stay. To look around, not that she could find her way out if she wanted to.
