(OOC Note: I know there is a realm wide story line From The Sky going on and I just wanted to mentiont that the reason it is not mentioned in this weeks paper is because of the way the storyline has unfolded. In the S/L I have played it that the Editor had just gotten the weeks papers out when it hit, so it will appear in next weeks paper. This s/l also explains the change in Editor some of you may have noticed. Thank you!)
Is it the winds of change blowing through the Palace or a desperate attempt on part of King Alerion to arrest the degeneration of Alerian society? In a drastic move our absentee King has made some changes to the Government that Rules Aleris, most notably the appointment of a new Grand Duke. Perhaps my rumblings about Roland’s lack of care for his beleaguered citizens finally reached the ears of our good King and he has begun to examine the needs of his people.
In Roland’s place King Alerion has appointed Antonio Desiderio to the position of Grand Duke of Aleris. In further changes King Alerion has altered the Ministry of Defense, placing it in the hands of our new Grand Duke and giving him province over The Deadlands, Aleris’ officially sanctioned battleground. All who serve in a militant capacity as a body guard, soldier, or palace guard, are now part of the Ministry of Defense and will report to our new Grand Duke as will those wishing to serve the Ministry at the Dead Lands.
The Chronicle would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to His Grace, Antonio Desiderio, on his new appointment and wish him all the luck in his endeavors.
In response to the growing concerns regarding the violence Aleris has seen since the arrival of the Outer Gate immigrants King Alerion has taken another aggressive stride in naming a new Sheriff. Aubrey Blackburn was appointed to the office of Sheriff of Aleris approximately two weeks ago but we have yet to see Sheriff Blackburn on the city streets and in fact have not seen nor heard anything from our new Sheriff in any capacity.
Hopefully Sheriff Blackburn will not follow in the path of so many others in Aleris who have accepted the titles and accolades that come along with their positions without actually providing any service to their people.
Until next time….I’ll be watching.
