She smirked then as she looked at Kyrian once more. Babysit indeed! She'd take the boy to Siren's Corner first chance she got! HA!

"You know. Girl about yey tall. Blonde hair, I think. Bigger than me?" Which wasn't hard nowadays. Evie stood in Chrysalis' office asking the woman if she'd seen her sister. "I know she's here, it has to be her. No one else looks like that one, and I have a feeling mom might flip if she finds out why she's here. That's my doing. " Evie sighed and leaned her head back. No better person to ask than the Gossip columnist -- and her employer. "I mean, I know I've been pretty damn selfish about the whole thing, but I want mom to get better, but somehow I think I might make things worse until I can explain." It cost her a lot of money to send for Jacquielle, and Evie wanted to find her before she got lost or kidnapped.. or something.

Gripping the roots of her hair, she touseled up her red tresses. In Evie's aging, she was beginning to look like her mother. Though, her hair was more of a mahogony red than the vermillion red of Jezika's. "Ever since da.." Damnit! She needed to quit that. "Ever since Morlis left her, I've been blaming her for everything." It was a hard habit to break, but Evie should be used to being a bastard child by now. As her lips parted in a sigh, the tips of her retractable fangs could be seen. The Lamia in her was beginning to manifest and she couldn't stop it, let alone understand what the fuck was going on.

"I sure hope you can help me, darlin'. I really don't want to have to scrape my skin off the wall when Jezika fellet's me for this." They haven't exactly been on speaking terms lately, Evie was pretty convinced that Jezika hated her and wished she never gave birth to her. For once in Evie's relatively short life, she agreed with it. Evie was nasty and cruel towards her mother. She said things that she ultimately didn't mean, and she knew would hurt the most. She was, after all, her mother's daughter. A flustered sound parted her ruby lips and she shook her head. "How could I lose track of my own sister. I'm worthless, I'm sure glad I'm good at what I do because I've got nothin' else to offer the world. It sure doesn't need another idiot." Evie had seen her share. Pale eyes looked at the woman. With the change came physical changes as well. Her eyes were so pale gold they almost looked white. It seemed that while Evie was half in metamorphesis, she was rather startling looking. From everything she managed to compile, it would change eventually. But, she'd have to endure until it came to be that time.

"She holds our last name, I hope it's not too hard. I suppose she'd have gone to look for mom first. Which, I don't even know where she's living anymore. I could just ask da.." Evie caught herself again with a sigh. When would she get over that. Pausing a moment, she blamed the anxiety. "Maybe Morlis would know, seems like he's there often enough." Yeah, Evie read the gossip section of the newspaper. She reported things to her, so said her job description. In all actuality, Evie would do whatever needed to be done for Chrysa or Akuma.

Of course, Evie didn't realize how fast she'd been talking or even if she gave Chrysa a chance to think about what she'd said. "Sorry. I'm just a bit on edge. Jezika's not someone you want to get mad at you. And I know you know everything about everyone, so I'm hoping you've heard about someone new coming. I mean, I'm not certain about the physical description. I called her here, but didn't really give any details since I didn't have them myself. It was a rush job, because I'm really.. well.. worried." That was a good enough word for it. Evie had fucked up, and she was desperately trying to fix it. Which could end up badly for everyone involved. Jacquielle was her sister, maybe not of the blood, but just as close. They had been raised together, and she was all Evie knew growing up. That is, until the girl ran off, which Evie didn't quite understand. But, all her questions would be answered, she hoped, when she found her.

At the last minute Eventide had chosen not to go with Tony as part of Tevy’s escort to Aleris but it wasn’t until the girl showed up in her office sat the Chronicle that she understood why. She was looking for her sister, or was it adopted sister, she wasn’t entirely sure at first since Evie promptly began rattling off her thoughts the moment she burst into her office. Doing her best to keep up the reporter snatched up a pen and began scribbling notes on the nearby notepad as Evie let the relevant details slip out during her diatribe. So far she had a general description and a name which was most likely more then she would need to locate the girl if she was in Aleris.

Eventide expressed her concerns over Jezika finding out that Eventide had invited Jacquielle to Aleris and glancing up from the note pad the angelic smirked slightly.

“Oh, I don’t think you’ll have to worry about Jezika finding out unless you tell her. She’s got more then enough on her plate these days.”

She didn’t go into details, she was speaking about the girl’s mother after all, but the information she had received from some of the spies she had ensconced in the Temple had given her plenty of reason to believe that Jezika was going to be very preoccupied in the coming days. Most likely she wouldn’t even hear about any of this unless someone made a point of telling her and she sure as hell wasn’t going to say anything to her about it. She doubted she was Jezika’s favorite person in the world. In fact she wouldn’t be surprised if she was one of the most despised women in Aleris. Not that that was going to stop her from doing her job, however.

Evie was several sentences into her self debasement when Chrysalis registered that she had switched gears and was now downing herself, badly. Finishing up her notes she tore the paper free, the page containing a general description based on what Eventide remembered, a time frame for when she might/should be arriving based on when Evie invited her here, and her name.

“That’s enough of that, Evie. Kicking your own ass isn’t going to do you any good so get down off the cross sweetie, someone needs the wood.”

Perversely, that had always been one of her favorite sayings, and she winked good-naturedly at the distraught girl as she rose from her desk and walked around it to the door leading to the reception area. Opening the door she rolled her eyes at the nitwit at the front desk who spent more time flirting with the various men who came in then her actual job. It wasn’t in the angelic’s nature to just remove people without giving them a chance but the twit was well on her way out. The fact that she had caught the girl making a pass at Akuma a few days earlier had nothing to do with it. Nothing at all. Really.

“Tiffany…” Dear God her name was actually Tiffany,”Take this and show it to my contacts in the city, especially the Inns and the docks.”

Seeing the twit roll her eyes at being asked to work the half angel had a very hard time not giving in to her baser urges and smacking the girl upside the head. Tiffany’s time at the Chronicle was limited, that was for sure. Once she had taken the paper and set off to her task Chrysalis returned her attention to Eventide, a comforting smile appearing on her lips as she did her best to calm the girl down.

“If she is anywhere in this city, Evie, don’t worry. I’ll find her.”
