Jezika's world had been relatively quiet. Besides her frequent visits from her ex-husband. It was no use in telling him no, cause she was pretty convinced that word wasn't in his vocabulary. Then again, she really didn't complain too much about it, she began to welcome it after awhile, even though she let him think she protested. Then again, he chose the most inopportune times. Shaking her head, she tore her thoughts away from him. Damn him for having that kind of control over her. Though, it had always been that way. Ever since she was young. He'd be in her life in one way or another for the rest of it -- he, himself had told her that time and time again. Outwardly, she may protest, but he knew better. Which was why he kept tormenting her the way he did. Again, not that she minded. Growling at herself, she tried to tear her mind off of him. There were bigger fish to fry at this point. She had been abandoned yet again, left as something she didn't understand and she was done with it. Completely. It was a sign that she ended her own life, so to speak, when she left Morlis. Everything was fine up until she left. And now, everyone left her, or she wasn't happy and couldn't be content.

Damnit.

For the past few weeks, she had been pretty reclusive, but in that time she had an epiphany. Or more than one, who really knew. But Jezika knew one thing -- she was tired of the way her life was going. Laying on her bed, she stared up at the ceiling and her legs dangled over the edge of the bed. There were thoughts going through her head, and she was trying to sort them out. She had told Syeria that she wanted to visit Cahira. The woman had been the only mother she ever really knew, being that she didn't remember the couple that sold her to another band of gypsies for their own well being.

"Hm."

Musing to herself, she pulled herself from the bed and she looked at herself in the mirror. She didn't do much of that lately, though she'd never get used to seeing that very familiar necklace hanging around her neck. Reaching up, Jezika brushed it with her fingers before shaking her head and turning away from her reflection. She wasn't getting any younger, that was for sure. And while she had been through so many changes in what exactly she was, it seemed to have froze her outward appearance. In her realization that she was growing older, she figured that she didn't want to spend the rest of her life alone, waiting for Morlis to throw her a bone (though, she greatly enjoyed said bone, but that's besides the point). Jezika decided that it was time for her to eat some crow, swallow her pride and apologize to her family. She had abandoned and neglected them, they were all she had and it took her this long to realize that even her pride couldn't make her happy. And in truth, Jezika hadn't been truly happy for a very long time. Though, she knew it wasn't going to be easy, and likely it would take time to build up what she threw away. But, Jezika's resolve was strong and she'd do what she had to do. Priestess or not, she wouldn't be helping anyone if she couldn't help herself. That was her number one priority, herself. Selfish? Maybe, but she needed to do a littler fixing before she dug her grave so deep she'd never crawl out of it. So you give up every chance you get, just to feel new again..

Having called on Syeria to help her with her temple, she knew her sister was still around. And while Jezika was nowhere near as talented as her quasi-sister, Jezika did have some tricks up her sleeves. Opening up a rift, Jezika stepped through and was deposited into the temple she often found herself in. "Sye?" She called out softly. Jezika knew the two of them had never been super close. She was closer with Ameerah, and she actually did miss her friend, but it was something she didn't make public. But, she and Syeria most of the time saw eye to eye. Being that she wasn't Cahira's birth child put some strain on them all at times. Her hands rested loosely on her hips as she looked around. Devout followers and her chosen priests and priestesses were doing their duties and they stopped to bow their heads respectfully as Jezika passed, and she returned the gesture. "Have you seen my sister?"

She did introduce Syeira as her sister, blood or not, she was still family. "I have not, Priestess, but we can find her."

"Thank you, but I think she knows I'm here." Jezika smiled and nodded her head before she curled her arms just under her chest. There were a few things she needed to discuss with her, and none of them she wished to do here. So whenever she could, she'd be out o fthe temple as quickly as she came once she had her sister in tow.

The task Jezika had summoned her for was complete, she certainly could have left the temple of Calypso at any time and yet she lingered in the ornate halls, keeping out of sight for the most part, keeping to herself. It was not out of any great love for the Goddess in question or any desire to serve Her, she’d had her fill of subservience to a Goddess, a Goddess that had left her high and dry when she’d needed her most. She was through with that sort of servitude. Rather her interest in the Temple of Calypso had more to do with the warriors that frequented its halls. If she were going to hear any news of the Redmont war, or Nimeni’s place in it, it would be from the fighters coming to beg the favor of the Goddess of Chaos and War.

So far there was no word and she was just beginning to consider returning to Eternelle Lune and the kumpania. Boredom was setting in and most steered clear of the gypsy shuvani, casting wary glances as though afraid she would cast the evil eye upon them. It had occurred to her once or twice but while in Jezika’s domain she would behave…unless pushed. She had just decided it was time to get out of the temple and return home to wait when she heard a voices coming from the entrance to the temple, Jezika’s voice asking for her and a temple servant offering to find her. It was Jezika’s response that caused as mile to curl the gypsies lips and had her rising from her perch on a bench in one of the unused sections of the temple.

Appearing from the hidden recesses of the temple she skirted the alter and approached the women speaking of her from behind the servant, her right hand coming to rest gently on the shoulder of the servant as she spoke, her melodic voice soothing and sinister all in the same breath.

”I can handle it from here. Go about your business unless your Mistress has need of you.”

Twilight gray eyes met Jezika’s over the girls shoulder as she struggled to wait for the High Priestess to dismiss her instead of cutting and running which was her obvious instinct. Eventually Jezika took pity on her and dismissed the girl leaving the adopted siblings to their conversation. They had had little chance to talk since she had revealed Alastair Bluefield to be the destructor of the temple. Jezika had her priorities just as she had hers.

”What need do you have of me, Zika? Another spell?”

Hearing Syeria, she shook her head with a chuckle as she watched the servant go. Jezika, having had her fill of Goddesses as well, had surprised many when she accepted the task offered to her. Jezika had been betrayed and left by the Goddess she served before, but it was quickly becoming known to the woman that Calypso and Larisa were not the same. "Nah, I don't need a spell done. I do have a question and an offer for you though." She turned those honey eyes back to her adopted sister.

Jezika had gone through these thoughts in her head rather meticulously. One at a time, though. "I know you probably have to be tired of hanging around the temple. I've informed my priests and priestesses that if any news comes from the battlefield to contact me immediately." Jezika smiled, she knew why Syeria hung around. "You can be sure that they wll get you the message as soon as they hear." For once in her life, she took her job very seriously. She kept the other priests and priestesses in line and made sure that Calypso's warrior didn't get himself killed over something stupid. Such as life for the High Priestess.

Realizing that there were too many lingering eyes and ears so she pushed into motion as she headed back to the room of the temple she found and made into her own. "I want to offer you a place to stay for as long as you'd like it. As I said before, my priests have been informed that the information comes to me first, so you'll be the first to know either way." She paused. "I have plenty of room in my home, since I live alone most of the time." Yeah, she added in that 'most of the time', since while she did live by herself, she wasn't always alone. And being a seer, she knew she couldn't lie to her sister. "You would have everything you need there until the time comes and you choose to return home." Settling against the edge of her desk, she folded her arms under her chest.

Though, that could be an interesting situation that Syeria would be finding herself in. Then again, the girl probably already knew of her arangement with Morlis. The next thing she was going to bring up was a hard subject for Jezika, but she needed to ask -- she needed to know. "I've been doing a lot of thinking, Sye." Jezika started with a sigh. This wasn't going to be easy, and Jezika knew it. "I want to go home for awhile. Or maybe at least visit. Would you think Cahira would mind me coming home? I know I left and I know I've caused a lot of problems, but I miss her, and I miss... the last shred of normalcy that I had." Sighing again, Jezika looked up at her adopted sister. "I know she's probably furious with me, not only because I left and pretty much abandoned everyone, but the problems with Morlis." That wasn't easy either since Cahira was Morlis' sister. It was a tangled web, and a difficult thing to explain at times. "I just wanted to ask you first before showing up." Jezika still remembered the way, she just didn't want to drop in without seeing if she would even be welcomed anymore.

Jezika screwed her life up so much in the past few years, that she knew she had a lot of rebuilding and a lot of crow to eat. Jezika didn't like that, but it was something she had to do. To admit her wrongdoings and live with the consequences of her actions.

She truly had expected Jezika to need her for another task, another spell, another enchantment. It was the way of the shuvani and though she had originally railed against her heritage and what was expected of her she had slipped easily enough into the role, perhaps without even realizing it. She remained silent as Jezika spoke though she allowed her face to reveal the nature of her thoughts as Jezika’s thoughts shifted gears from the offer to live with Jezika and her unusual arrangement with Morlis to the desire to return to the Kumpania for a visit and her fears that she would not be welcome. Surprise registered first, the offer to stay with Jezika was not one she had anticipated but was no less welcome. Surprise faded to mild amusement as she glanced over the situation with Morlis before shifting to a frown as she spoke of her concerns regarding her welcome among the romani.

”Fuck Ameerah, Zika. That mongrel doesn’t speak for the Kumpania. As much as she would like to think she rules us ~I~ am my Mother’s heir, not her. Everyone makes mistakes Zika. We’re immortal so we are bound to make more then our fair share of them. Besides, Mother doesn’t always agree with Morlis’ actions.”

Though Cahira outwardly appeared to support her brother, family and all, it was no secret among the family itself that she did not always approve of the decisions he made, the demon was far more prominent in Morlis then in his sibling and they had often locked horns about a course of action Cahira would not normally have taken. Her words regarding Ameerah were true as well. Once upon a time she had been slated to follow Cahira, the Romani’s first ever female Rom Baro, but her distance from the Kumpania and the birth of Cahira’s daughter had changed those circumstances, something that Ameerah often forgot or chose to disregard, uppity bitch.

”If you wish to visit the Kumpania, Zika, go. No one there will shun you. I’ll even go with you if you want the company. I’ll also take you up on your offer. I grow very weary of this temple and if I’m with family Nimeni can not become angry at me for staying alone. Will he be welcome in your home? I can not go anywhere he can not go. As for Morlis…”

An enigmatic smile curved her lips as her right hand extended to pass over the elaborate choker Jezika wore before falling back to her side.

”He had to get his enchantments somewhere…Mother certainly isn’t helping him any longer.”

Her morals differed from her Mother’s and she held less issue with the circumstances surrounding Morlis and Jezika’s arrangement then her mother did. Syeira could see Jezika was a willing participant but Cahira had long since declared she would no longer be helping Morlis and so it was to her daughter he turned. Unlike her mother though she insisted she was compensated handsomely for her work. A girls gotta eat.

Jezika had already promised she would have word sent the moment any word was received concerning the Redmont conflict and the attendants could tell him she was at Jezika’s should he look for her there so with a smile to Jezika she inclined her head gently in gratitude.

”I am grateful for your offer, Zika, and so very ready to get out of here.”

There were but three people she allowed to call her by that name. Cahira, Morlis, Syeria. It was something Morlis called her as a child and it stuck with her. They all had an odd arrangement and to explain it to anyone on the outside got tiring and confusing. She saw the thoughts register on Syeria's face and she waited to gauge them before she spoke again. The outburst about Ameerah caught her by surprise and Jezika sighed softly.

"I'll admit it. Ameerah was my best friend, she was the first friend I had growing up. And while I admit to my downfalls and the mistakes that I made, she turned her back on me fast enough to make my head spin without allowing me to explain in the slightest. I've never had someone so violently turn against me. Not even Morlis acted that way." And Morlis had blown up at her more than once, which she expected. But, obviously things weren't that bad anymore between them -- for now. Jezika nodded her head, "That's true too. I think she was against this whole thing, but determined is a loose word for Morlis. But you know me, Sye. I try and make everyone happy but leave myself out. I just never meant to abandon and forget anyone." Her shoulders shrugged.

"I mean, I know I'm not and have never been as important as you or Cahira, but I still worry about having her be.. content with her decision to take me in. I know it's been trying, and heaven for fend I know I haven't made it easy, but yeah we all make mistakes. I think I'm through making the really stupid ones now. Life's too short to keep making the same mistakes over and over again." This would all be something that Jezika would have to prove to be true -- that she was tired of the little melodramas that seem to surround her. She was never this much trouble as a child, and Jezika often wondered what happened. "Sometimes I wonder how I got into this mess in the first place. I don't recall being this bad when I was younger or I'd think Cahira would have let me know it. There are days I think going back and being naieve and clueless would be better than what I have know." Which was mostly true. She'd do things differently if she could, but that was fate's way.

Syeria's affermation caused Jezika to nod her head, "I think I will, and the company would be greatly appreciated. You know me, I worry.. I don't always mean to, but sometimes it's hard not to. Cahira is the only mother I've ever known and she did so much for me, I just don't want to disappoint her like I disappointed Morlis." And she had, too. That, however was a whole other subject. They, too, had a very long past.

"And hopefully soon, I need a break from some things for awhile. Have some time for myself." She coughed softly and smiled finally. "And I do not blame you for being wary, I was too at first. My home is your home, you'll just have to forgive the intrusions at all hours. Locks don't do so well." A look was given to Syeria. "Of course he is welcome in my home. Stay as long as you'd like. The both of you. In all actuality, I could use the company. It gets kind of lonely sometimes."

Her words about Morlis caused a look of pure shock to cross her features. "Ahhah. I knew he had to get them from somewhere. But it's actually a slight relief that you know." Jezika let out a soft breath. "And anyway, it's much easier this way." Her hand lifted and she brushed her fingertips across the choker. "Would have been easier still had he done it this way years ago." Jezika wouldn't have minded it, she wouldn't be in the position she's in now if he had.

Jezika had decided that she would do what she had to do to get what she so carelessly threw away back, even if only in part. She was more than willing to give in to Morlis' demands of her. Then again, it wouldn't matter if she wanted it or not, he had told her time and time again that she'd never be free of him. And she didn't want to be. Most people would, and do frown upon the.. arrangement the two had. Jezika wouldn't call it a relationship anymore. But, it was something. "So I'm assuming you knew all along?" Which didn't bother her, she just wondered if Cahira knew what had been going on. That could get a bit hairy.

She smiled brightly and nodded her head. " You're family, Sye. It's the very least I can do." She looked around, "Come. Let's get out of here. There's nothing further for us here. I have servants everywhere. Someone will find us if any news comes in." She pushed off the edge of her desk and moved toward the door. "And I thank you again for all your help concerning the Bluefield bastard. I haven't seen him as of late, and it's a good thing." Jezika figured it was him, even Maxim wouldn't try doing something like that to her. "Part of my morbid curiosity would love to see Morlis' face when he finds you staying with me. Then again, he wouldn't care. Again, determined comes to mind." Jezika mused slightly.
