Leaving word with one of the trusted servants of the house, she told them that she was going to go riding for the day. She rode as often as possible, rain, sunshine, snow, whenever the weather permitted or was foul; mattered not to her, most of the time. It didn't take her long to reach the stables and prepare her horse. She threw a blanket over the mare's back and slid on her bridal and then hooked the reins to the bridal and once mounted, she was away from the Villa.

To her there was no greater freedom than riding bare back upon a horse through the wilderness, beach, or wherever she wound up. Today she had decided to explore the city in more depth so as to learn where everything was. Finding her way from the large mansion to town wasn't too hard, but she had to go slow due to the snow, which had made any roads that had yet to be paved with cobblestone muddy. It seemed there were a select few teams of men and women who kept the main roads clear. Land and business owners were responsible for clearing their own walkways. A few of the servants back home had cleared the walk-paths early that morning and threw salt down to melt away any icy patches.

The palace wasn't too hard to find, it was the center of everything. It had taken her some time to reach the town, and the first thing which caught her eye was the beauty of it. Even the poorer section of town held its own charm in the sun-dappled snowy town; especially as there were kids playing in the snow, hurling snowballs, making snow-angels and building snow-folks. Hearing quite the commotion, she turned her horse, Breezana, around, and followed the sounds of laughter. To her surprise, there were some kids sledding down a firmly packed snowbank, some of the kids cheering their friends on. The children had not a care in the world and thinking back on her own childhood, she wished she had friends to do such childish things as sledding with.

She noticed they were using a couple hand-made sleds made out of what she guessed was discarded wood that some carpenter had no use for. They looked about to fall apart at any time. Knowing all to well how it felt to wonder ones next meal would come from and have very little of her own for the first thirteen years of her life, she's always felt a sort of bond with the less fortunate folks. Now a full Succubus, the red-headed Amazon had never lost her desire to help those less fortunate than she was now.

The snow on the ground gave the whole scene that infamous 'Winter Wonderland' feel; which she reveled in cause she didn't get to see snow often. Dressed warm, she had chosen to wear her comfortable, yet form-fitting pair of dark caramel leather pants along with a simple pair of her favorite doeskin boots lined in rabbit fur. Adorning her upper body she had chosen a royal blue cotton blouse to wear under her hip-length dark caramel leather bodice, which laced up the front. Her fiery red locks were pulled up into a high pony tail, a simple leather strand wrapping around the hair several times before being tied off. Hooped earrings of gold dangled from her ears and the only ring she wore was the pink diamond her beloved brother, Morlis, had gotten for her.

A tear drop sapphire pendant set about her neck along with her HellFire necklace, and bracers of leather curled sensuously about her forearms. A thin golden chain snaked its way around her lithe waist and what most didn't know was that it was an enchanted chain. With her will alone, she could transform it into a whip-chain bearing sharp spikes. Since it was cold outside, she was also wearing a pair of leather gloves to keep her hands warn. One might mistake her for a ranger at first, or maybe even a barbarian. Secretly..she was. She was an Amazon.

The holidays had come and gone, and she had enjoyed each and everyone. The Succubus had gone to great lengths to ensure that those poor kids had a good Christmas. She had bought them new sleds, coats, socks, and other clothing. She had played as a 'Secret Santa', simply signing all of the tags on the packages as 'Miss Santa'. So it was slightly devious, but the meaning and thought of giving the gifts was the important thing. Right?

She'd even gone so far as to dress up as Miss Santa! A red velvet gown with some white fur trim, a santa hat, and a some cute little leather boots had all of the kids excited. A red velvet cloak decorated in shimmering white snowflakes had completed the outfit. Rumor around town spread and she wound up giving away a good deal of presents. To see the smiles on the children's faces had boosted her already good mood immensely.

There would be something for the 'Mistress of Gossip' to write about in her paper. It might be a couple months late, but it would be something worth writing about maybe. During the last couple of months, she had been doing random things like that. When the New Year began, she had rigged up some fireworks and started an awesome light show for the night. And that had gone over great. She organized vendors and merchants to do some selling of their wares, there had been food and beverages available all night long. Now Valentines' Day, or whatever Alerian's called their V-day, was coming along. She had thought about throwing a romantic Ball or party of some sort. Thought it might be fun.

Could she get people to come to it? Right now, it was merely an idea. Nothing more. Sweeping her hair over her shoulder, the Minx settled herself again in her seat and continued with making all sorts of cards to pass out to the children. Having no children of her own just yet, she had taken to spoiling her nieces and nephews when she could. The children of the village as well. Knowing a life of poverty as she did the first years of her life, she had taken it upon herself to ensure that the kids were fed, clothed, and even got to school. She'd found a willing priest, humble and patient in nature to educate the children.

It was the least she could do. She wondered what the kids were doing. Maybe studying some fascinating history lesson. Speaking of lessons, she had her own lessons to do later. Right now, she wanted to work on the cards she was making for a while longer. She planned to deliver them in the secrecy of the dead-time of night. Before dawn every child in the city would have a card from 'Lady Dori'!!
