Since my last article printed for the This Just In column, there have been no further sightings of the gigantic sea monster that appeared several miles south west of Hinewai Harbor. There is no official word from King Elias on where the creature hailed from, what its intentions might be and if it is expected to come back and attack. One thing the king did mention was that the citizens of Aleris have nothing to concern over and that the issue will be remedied.

The possibility of the sea creature and the mysterious illness spreading throughout the land has been deemed as two separate incidents not linked together, as confirmed by Grand City palace officials.

Soldiers of the Grand City army were recently seen detaining a number of sailors who were drawn into a vicious fight against each other. Witnesses say the men appeared untamed, cannibalistic and rabid, as if they were being controlled by an outside force. The men that were taken into custody had a reputation amongst Hinewai Harbor for all being honorable sailors. What changed them is yet to be determined - whether the sudden violence was of their own doing or cause by something else. Some say that their behavior might be due to a mutated infection from the Aliscowri.

The Lord Commander of Eiler, Madrin Kir, was also seen taking an additional man into custody at the docks. The assailant that was captured apparently attacked one of the harbor's fish merchants, a man much older than himself. Commander Kir was able to subdue the attacker and it is said he will be held for additional questioning.

Similar attacks have been happening more consistently, not just in Eiler, but on Heruin, Arthuran and Elved as well. All leaders of each continent have attempted to put in the appropriate measures to secure the safety of their people. At the current time, for each person who falls ill and withers away, there is another person who turns to unreasonable and uncontrollable violence.

What is causing the tipping of scales across Aleris? Perhaps we will know in the next article.
