As reported in our widely popular gossip column the divided Redmont family has been engaged in an internal feud for quite some time now. It seemed a squabble that would be contained within the Redmont family and their Gate but now it seems that their fight might spread to Aleris and the innocent citizens that occupy its lands.

Reports have been received from the Outer Gates of the Outlands that Maxim Redmont, Lord of the Redmont Dynasty, has declared civil war on the Redmont Brood led by none other then his wife, Daphne Redmont. Accounts of the attack that acted as the opening salvo of his war on his own family state the attack was swift and brutal and none were spared, regardless of race or position within the Brood.

It is not the standard policy of the Chronicle to report on the goings that take place within the realms of the Outer Gates, unless said events will effect Aleris in any way and this looks as though it will shape up to do just that.

Already the skirmishes between the warring Redmont factions have been noticed by the citizens of Aleris to the point that it has been featured in the Grapevine on more then one occasion. Out and out war could potentially cause those skirmishes to escalate into all out battle among the streets of Aleris thus threatening the well being of its citizens.

How many innocent lives will be lost in this war? Will the Palace Guard take any actions to ensure the safety of the Citizens of our fair City? Will King Alerian finally speak out and admonish those that seek to cause chaos amidst our streets?

Only time will provide the answers to these questions but in the meantime…
