The orders were clear. Find Reid Feral, capture him, return to the ship. Simple. Gabriel had even sent a half dozen of his crew to ensure the plan was even MORE simple. And yet six crewman argued amongst themselves, hidden in an alley and waiting for the young Mr. Feral to pass by.

"Maybe we should just..hop out, you know? Catch 'em all unawares like."

Skell shook his head and waved the plan off.

"That plan is bollocks. Jump out at 'em with that face and we'll be chasin' 'em all over Hell and back. From now on I make the plans, Rafe. And I say we wait for 'em to pass. THEN we come from behind him unawares. Now THAT be a plan."

Rafe stepped closer to Skell, offense showing in his eyes.

"Oy. What ya be tryin' to say, Skell? Tryin' to say that I ain't smart enough to kidnap some lie pedlin', paper pusher?

Skell shook his head and said matter of factly.

"Nah Rafe. I ain't tryin' to say that. I'm right out TELLIN' ya, ya got the brains of whale shit and only half the personality."

Rafe lunged at Skell and the 2 started to tussle. Had it not been for Tabbot the group might never have noticed Reid walking by them to stop in front of some old building. Rather than argue with Skell and Rafe, he used their little quarrel to his advantage. Skell and Rafe fell onto the ground in front of Reid, stopping him in his tracks as they wrestled. Rafe noticed the young man first, then Skell. The 2 crewmen looked up, knowing they cocked up the plan.

Their plan maybe, but not Tabbot's. As the 2 buffoons fell from the alley, Tabbot led the other 3 crewmen back around the building. With Reid's attention on the 2 men fighting he didn't seem to notice the 4 that came up from the alley behind and brought a seabag up and over him. Tabbot was a big man, 6'6 and 300lbs, so it wasn't difficult to scoop the much smaller Mr. Feral up by pulling his feet up from under him.

"Come on, we have to get back before anyone notic..."

Tabbot's words were cut short as his eyes took in what was a short distance away. Right across the street, 3 Eiler guardsmen stood silent and wide eyed. You could almost hear their thoughts of no one being foolish enough to kidnap someone right in the middle of the street.

"Well...hello gentlemen. Having a good night are you? This is just a little prank. See our friend here...he.."

Reid was moving around in the bag like, well, like a cat in a burlap bag. Not only that but he was shouting. The guards began to approach and Tabbot smiled as widely as he could before saying, with the utmost sincerity;

"LEG IT!"

====================================

Back on the deck of the Megalodon, Gabriel checked his pocket watch. Standing to his back left was Mr. Williams looking out towards the mainland dock with the long-lens.

"You think somethin's gone wrong, Captain?"

Putting the watch away, Gabriel shook his head and walked to the rail, setting his hands down on it as he looked out towards the docks.

"No I don't think anything has gone wrong. I know it has. Let me see if I can imagine. Skell and Rafe are together, which means they likely talked themselves into a fight. Tabbot's with them, so he'll try to do it all by himself. He'll be thinking so much about the extra rum ration waiting for him that he won't notice something. The plan will fall through so he'll just make it up on the fly. They'll all run like children who've broken a window and hope to make it home before they get caught."

No sooner did he finish his words than a voice was heard shouting in the distance. The telescope wasn't needed to know Tabbot's voice, or to see the long boat quickly rowing away from shore. Only there were 3 other boats following after them, and splashes in the water from the arrows being launched at Tabbot's group showed they weren't friendly.

Mister Williams raised a brow and turned his eyes toward Gabriel.

"It can be damned eerie when you do things like that, you know."

The captain smirked and pushed off the rail, calling out his orders.

"All hands make ready to receive. I want the longboat decked and set in double-time! Mister Williams, aim and light the starboard guns."

As the deck hands readied the ship to receive the returning long boat, Williams looked curiously at Gabriel.

"Beggin your pardon, Captain. They're just guards tryin' to protect someone. I don't think the guns are.."

Captain Wolfe only smiled and patted his first mate on the arm.

"Trust me."

Williams only nodded, giving a soft 'aye sir' before calling out for the starboard guns to be aimed and loaded. Gabriel shook his head as the guns were trained onto the 3 approaching guard ships.

"I said aim and light, I never said load."

"But, captain..if they aren't loaded..what about when they go off? The guards'll know we're bluffin'."

The canons were aimed fully at the 3 ships, all 28 of them being lit. The guardships suddenly froze in the water and guards dove off them. Gabriel's smirk widened.

"Do you think any of them is paid enough to take that chance? Now, let's bring our crew on board."

==================================

The 6 crewmen were brought onto the main deck and the longboat was loaded back in its slot. The order had been called out for the sails to be dropped and anchor to be raised. Gabriel waited a good several minutes before having the thrashing canvas sack untied, and young Mister Feral poured out of it, and onto the deck of the Megalodon.

The first thing he would see was 2 dozen men and women fixing sail as the ship was already turned from the docks and heading into open sea. Mister Williams stood to Gabriel's immediate left, and Miss La Sirena at his right. A charming smile was on the captains face as he nodded his head.

"Hello, Mister Feral. A pleasure to meet you. I am Gabriel, Captain of this Vessel. To my left is my first mate, Mister Williams. And this lovely young woman to my right, she is our employer, Miss La Sirena. We have all been so looking forward to meeting you ever since you took such interest in our lives."

Gabriel reached out and Mister Williams handed him the paper, folded so as to showcase the article written about both the Captain and their employer. The paper was glanced at by him before being tossed lightly at Reid.

"I thought it would be smashing if we gave you first hand experience of something you seemed to only be making assumptions on. After all..the truth can be SO much more entertaining than fiction. Settle in Mister Feral, get comfortable, you will be our guest for...well, however long it takes for the truth to sink in. Mister Williams, do see that Mister Feral is taken proper care of."

Gabriel turned towards Sirena and gave a brief, satisfied smile before glancing once more to Reid. For a brief instant, the Captains eyes became a solid, nearly shark-like black.

"Welcome to the Megalodon."

Reid couldn't say he was surprised. After all, it was only a matter of time before he was nabbed in an alleyway and throw into a burlap sack. Usually he was more cautious and aware of his surroundings, especially in this day and age, but at the current time watching the two men who fell out of the alleyway and into the street to duke it out seemed more entertaining. Really, there was not a damn thing he could do about his "imprisonment". Before he was tossed into the seabag, Reid took notice that one of his captors (the man who would carry him away) was a gigantic mass of a man who was 6'6 in height and 300 pounds. In comparison, Reid who had always been tall and rather lanky in build, was but a wee babe.

Still, that didn't mean he was going down without a fight. He kicked, thrashed and shouted all the way to wherever it was he was going. He could be very vocal if he wanted to, but despite his efforts the Grand City guards he had heard before that were questioning his captors were unsuccessful in their efforts to detain the kidnappers. So off he went against his will. He was, however, confident in the fact that he had kicked that giant oaf in the back quite a few times. Hopefully the man would have a few bruises after this whole ordeal.

It didn't take Reid long to figure out where he was and where he was going. The rocking of a long boat and the smell of the ocean air gave it all away. Being as how he had recently written about La Sirenia and Captain Gabriel Wolfe, Reid couldn't imagine that his cat-nappers were anyone else but the duo. They must have enjoyed reading his article. This thought amused him even when he was rudely dumped out of his sack and onto the deck of the Megadolon. Reid went sprawling downward in a heap, but quickly collected himself and set cross-legged on the wooden deck of the ship looking up at the group of at least two dozen men and women that were getting their ship ready to set sail. Smoothing out his green and black streaked hair, Reid tilted his head upwards to look at the Captain of the ship, his tail swaying with slight irritation behind him.

"I know who you and your employer are, Captain. Introductions are not necessary," Reid said giving the man a dismissive wave of his hand.

He caught the issue of The Chronicle that was thrown at him and glanced down at it with little interest as he was already aware of why he was here. A very half-hearted shrug was given. Eventually, Reid stood on his feet and turned from Sirenia to Gabriel, a certain look of disbelief in those gray colored eyes of his.

"Tell me, Captain Gabriel Wolfe, just how much sea water did you drink? Are you that daft? Do you know what the word 'rumor' means? To think you went through all this trouble to nab me to teach me a lesson about the 'truth'... I'm flattered really. Are you at all aware that I do write other articles besides the 'Rumor Has It' column that contain plenty of truths or are you only partial to seeing what you want to see?" Reid said ending his sentence with a small snort. His gaze then flicked from Gabriel to Miss Sirenia. "And you, Lady Sirenia, I am a bit surprised actually. You used to work for The Chronicle. You allowed Najia Sarai to print the same sort of lies and slander while under your watch as editor. You are no different than I."

Apparently Reid could smile just as charming as the Captain of the Megadolon, although there was a hint of sarcasm in the way he formed the grin he wore. Even when Gabriel's eyes turned obsidian, Reid did not falter or tremble.

"Know this - both of you - it does not matter what lesson you 'teach' me or by what methods you will show me the truth. If it's not me writing the 'Rumor Has It' column, it will be someone else. You want me to be frightened then? Fine, I'm shaking in my boots. But let's get this over with, shall we? I'm bored already," Reid said. With that, the cat hybrid stepped forward, looped his arm through Mister William's arm as if the man was his own personal escort and nodded in the direction of wherever it was he was going. "Let's go big boy. Guess you're going to give me the spanking of my life."

The somewhat aloof woman stood at the railing of the ship, her gaze fixed on the distance as she waited for the members of Gabriel's crew to return with their conquest. Having lived in Aleris, particularly Eiler, before she knew the consequences involved in napping a prominent member of Eiler society but Gabriel seemed unconcerned and determined to embark upon this caper though she strongly suspected it was more out of a sense of fun than any need for genuine retribution. Reid could certainly cause trouble upon their return, trouble that might cause the good Captain to choose to leave Aleris, a thought that she found oddly unpleasant. Perhaps she could mollify the good Editor with a shopping spree in Venice.

Shouts from behind her alerted her to the return of Gabriel's crew and turning to watch as they hauled the angry bundle onto the deck she slowly drifted forward until she was standing to the side and slightly back from Gabriel, her features visible as she had lowered the hood of her midnight blue cloak. Folding her hands in front of her as they released Reid from the burlap sack she couldn't help the slight smile that touched to her lips when he emerged hissing and spitting his anger, and rightfully so, they did just catnap him.

Still she said nothing as Captain Wolfe greeted Reid and informed him as to why he was now a guest aboard the Megalodon. It seemed Reid was not unaware of the reasons behind his rather abrupt..invitation...but then she hadn't expected him to be. He was the Editor in Chief of the newspaper, he had to possess some measure of intelligence. Still she said nothing as Reid gained his feet and began to express his anger, first castigating the good Captain before turning his venom her way. Whatever reaction he might have been expecting of her all she gave was an additional curving of her lips, her melodious voice lacking any anger when she spoke.

”On the contrary Signore Feral, I did not work for the paper, I ran it. I was the Editor in Chief just as you are and I wrote the Editorial, nothing more. I employed someone else to write the gossip column. You may wish to consider doing the same in order to avoid any future issues with those you gossip about. And by the way, my name is pronounced La Sirena, not La Sirenia, but Sirena will do just fine.”

A thread of amusement was woven throughout her words as she spoke and, from Reid's reaction, it seemed he felt he was going to be receiving a “spanking”, he wishes, and then he would be put ashore. Such was not to be, however. On the contrary they fully intended to take him with them to Venice though nothing had been said of those plans to the good Editor. Turning her dark blue gaze from the male feline to the profile of Captain Wolfe she inclined her head slightly.

”I am ready to depart when you are, Captain Wolfe.”

Receiving his nod of agreement she turned away from the angry Editor and made her way to the prow of the ship as Gabriel began barking out orders which his crew obeyed instantly, working like a well oiled machine to obey the orders of their Captain. Soon they were underway, pulling away from the shore of Eiler with Hinewai Harbor in the distance and making for open sea. Captain Wolfe was well versed in slipping his ship from one dimension or world to another but to ensure they got to the right place it would take the both of them. His arrival in Aleris had been facilitated by the presence of a maelstrom in a part of Aleris' ocean that did not seem to get many visitors and it was to this maelstrom that he directed the crew and his ship. He would take the ship into the maelstrom and she would provide the magic needed to get them where they needed to go.

She herself was not unfamiliar with traveling between worlds but it was the first time she had ever attempted to take an entire ship with her and the Megaodon was huge even by a ships standards. Beyond that she would be using magics that were still somewhat unfamiliar to her and she would be lying if she said she was not a little bit nervous about utilizing the elemental ocean magic rather than the demonic magic she had been taught since childhood. Grateful that her back was to the rest of the people on the ship she lifted her hands and raised the hood of her cloak, hiding her features as she looked out over the expanse of ocean that unfolded before them.

The crew gave her a wide birth which she was grateful for and taking a deep breath she let her awareness expand, reaching out until she felt the wild energy of the ocean beneath them fill her being. The demon within her rebelled against it but was no match for the pure, unfettered, elemental force that filled her and began to swirl and eddy, as if the ocean itself broke within her. She could not help the soft gasp that escaped her lips as the wild force swept her away in it's current, her hands resting on the railing of the ship curling into the wood as if to anchor herself to the here and now. It was more than that, though. Her grip gave her a physical tie to the ship allowing her to take it with her as she wove the elemental magic that would transport them to the realm of Earth. It wasn't just a matter of getting the right world, however, but also the right ~time~ as well.

Time was meaningless as she focused on what she was doing and she couldn't have said how long it was before she was hearing the shout from the crow's nest that the maelstrom was in sight. It was time. Years of carefully cultivated composure came to her aid now as she tightened her grip on the ship's railing, refusing to succumb to the nerves that threatened her. She could hear the roar of the maelstrom ahead of them but, more than that, she could feel it..deep within her she could feel it roiling, could feel it's power as if it were her own, and she shuddered gently at the force of it.

The wind began to whip about them, tearing at her cloak and gown, pulling the hood from her head and even tearing her dark hair free of the knot at the nape of her neck until it too swirled around her. As they grew closer the mist kicked up by the whirlpool blew against her dampening her hair and clothes but it didn't bother her. On the contrary it only made her feel stronger, more in control of the forces she was attempting to harness. The sound of the ocean roared in her ears as if coming from within but she could hear Gabriel's voice behind her shouting orders as they grew ever closer to the churning whirlpool.

They were so close and taking a deep breath she gathered all the energy she felt churning within her and pushed it “outward”. From her palms, still gripping the ships railing, a deep sea blue energy began to form, spreading from her hands and stretching along the railing until it had surrounded the entire ship, the wood of the railing acting as a natural conduit for the protective circle she placed on the ship. Before her eyes the chasm loomed, the nose of the ship edging towards the abyss, and from her lips a spell was whispered into the wind.

”Alza potente oceano, ci circondano la vostra protezione, ci guidi dove dobbiamo andare, la figlia chiede umilmente il vostro aiuto.”

As the last word died on her lips she felt the energy she had gathered within her erupt from her being, using her body as the conduit for the elemental magic she had conjured and a massive ocean wall erupted from the depths, surrounding the Megalodon as it entered the maelstrom. The ship pitched beneath her feet, throwing her violently against the railing but she managed to maintain her death grip on the ship as well as her hold on the magic she was attempting to harness.

Panting with the exertion of controlling magic that was relatively new to her her nails dug into the wood of the ship, the world tilting and careening around her as they were swept down into the depths of the maelstrom until everything was darkness. The spell was not quite complete, however, she still had to get them there and though the words were snatched away by the wind she began chanting again, this time the words intended solely as navigation, her thoughts filling with deliberate images of the place and time she desired.

Just when it felt as though her body would be shaken apart by the elemental spell everything went suddenly silent and still, the energy leaving her fully in a great rush. The silence was cut by the sound of the protective wall of water that had surrounded them falling back into the ocean, a little bit of Aleris left behind on Earth. For a long moment she didn't move but she knew she could not stay as she was forever and finally she parted her eyes, unaware she had closed them in the first place, and gazed about. She could see nothing in the distance save the vast expanse of a calm sea. It was night and the moon over head was in it's waxing crescent phase. Reaching out with her senses she skimmed the surface of the ocean and slumped with relief at what she found. They were on Earth and, she hoped, in the right time.

Realizing she must make quite the pitiful looking picture she straightened away from where she'd fallen against the railing and, lifting her hands, she attempted to restore some measure of order to her hair and clothing. Turning to face the crew she took a single step only to stumble slightly. She was more drained from the spell than she had anticipated but refused to reveal her fatigue to the others and, straightening, she continued slowly towards the waiting crew.

”I believe if you consult your charts, Captain, you will find we are but a few days journey from the coast of Italy.”

Tension laced her voice though she attempted to conceal it. Being back on Earth put her at risk, a risk she had hired Gabriel and his crew to help mitigate. He had assured her they were more than capable of handling whatever threat the Morning Star might pose but she could not help but feel a bit of natural apprehension. Her current weakened state was something she had not counted on, either, and she knew she would need to regain her strength quickly.

There is one way...her subconscious whispered and her gaze flicked over the Captain as the demon within her began to nearly salivate with hunger over the banquet his handsome figure offered. No, she would not succumb to such impulses, and clenching her hands until her nails cut into her palms she forced herself to walk by him until she was close enough for Reid to hear her.

”Welcome to Earth, Signore Feral.”

It was going to be an interesting trip.

Introductions were always necessary, manners separated man from beast. While young mister Feral might have thought it all right to skip such politeness on account of his being kidnapped, well than he obviously knew less about the captain than he let on. Any knowledge he had must be by name and face only (but that could work in Gabriel's favor).

While the angst-y feline continued to ramble on with self-righteous indignation, the captain had already turned away to let the young man have his fit towards his back. The boys voice began to die down as he turned his snide demeanor to the first mate. Mister Williams couldn't help but raise an eyebrow down at Reid before sighing and shaking his head, leading the young cat-man off towards the lower-decks of the ship.

”Always sending me off with the mentals.”

Mister Williams disappeared with Mister Feral down the stairs, stairs which ended at the sleeping deck. From there they passed rows of hammocks and crewman not yet on call. Reid was met with a series of thousand yard stares, intense scrutiny, and even some bedroom eyes (It could be months between seeing a new face when on the open sea after all). Williams ushered the boy through to an empty store room in the back. A 'bed' of sorts had been set up, namely a hammock hung between 2 support beams in the room. A lantern sat on a small box beside the hammock along with a change of very simple clothes. The first mate opened the door and gestured with his head into the room.

”Breakfast is at dawn bell, lunch at noon, dinner at dusk. When ye' hear the quarterman whistle it means all hands on deck. And...if ye' want some advice, put somethin' on yer end of this door. Yer young, yer brash, and yer new...and that didn't favor well for the last one, rest their soul. Captain says ye ain't a prisoner on this ship..more a hindered guest. So, go where ye' like...but remember, ye' might not like everywhere ye' go. Good evenin' to ye'.”

Any idea that Williams was having a spot of fun with the boy were dashed when the first mate gently closed the door behind him. On Reid's side there were numerous fingernail marks dug into the wood, and an old blood stain covered the bottom of the door itself. Apparently Mister Feral was not the Captain's first guest.

~--------------------------------------------------------~

Sirena had gone about seeing to the magic while Gabriel saw to the navigation. The closer the Maelstrom came the more the crew seemed to lose that cavalier nature and become quite focused. By the time the massive ship reached the Whirlpool, Gabriel was standing at the helm and steering the Megalodon, while Sirena guided the sea. The captain couldn't help the enthusiastic smile that came over him as both Sirena and he seemed to work in tandem. Wood creaked all along the ship but never did a single nail shake lose, nor did any lines break. The ship had been built to handle traveling between worlds and this time she had an audience to see just how solid she was.

But while the ship was impressive, its employer appeared to be the true marvel. As they were all pulled into the sea, the sound of Gabriel's laughter was greater than even that of the raucous ocean. This – this was what he lived for. Funny thing that he felt more alive in those few seconds traveling between worlds than he did in any actual world he'd ever been in.

It was loud, violent, and without order; in other words it was pure chaos. Then, just like that, all was silent. The Megalodon sat within still waters as Sirena regained her bearings. Captain Wolf left the helm once he was certain the journey had been a success, leaving Williams to take the wheel while he moved over to their employer.

”I have no doubt we are exactly where we need to be, Sirena. Well done if I may say so. So..got a bit of Naiad? Atlantian? Nereid? No bit of magic could be that seamless unless the one using it had seawater in their veins.”

He hadn't mentioned his own species due to the fact that it was a race that chose not to be known They survived by keeping to the ocean, keeping to the cold and the dark. And if the creatures he'd mentioned could be thought of as Angels of the sea, than his species, the Aquanos, they would be its demons.

Realizing in a brief few seconds that he was possibly overstepping his boundaries he cleared his throat and looked out over the open ocean. His eyes were narrowed to perfectly horizontal lines as they scanned across the never ending sea. Both his hands clasped behind him as he walked to the rail, giving one glance to the sky before speaking.

”You are most correct though. We are..three days, five hours, and twenty two minutes from the port of Venice. I need no charts to tell me that. In foreign oceans it may take a day or so to gain my bearings but...these oceans, Earth-Sea...I know her well. She raised me.”

A nostalgic smile came over him for a brief moment before he turned towards her and took a deep breath of the familiar air. ”These next days will be the most difficult. Aleris is neutral ground..and they would never send collectors to a realm they had no sway in. But now that we are here...sooner or later they will come. For the next seventy two hours, we are at war.”

As the captain walked away from the railing his crewman already began to follow through with orders that were apparently given before miss La Sirena came on board to set sail. The entire ship was now on full alert and all approaching vessels not marked as friend would be treated as a thread. 52 guns were primed and ready for battle as Gabriel moved back towards the helm, taking his tri-corner hat from the post beside it and placing it on his head. In other realms he may be a ship for hire, but on Earth he was still a privateer. With his hat in place he nodded to Williams, and the first mate responded immediately.

”All HANDS make WAY! Enemy waters ahead! Stand READY!”

To which the Captain's additional command followed.

”All AHEAD, FULL SAIL! If a ship is seen FLYING NO COLORS or KEEPING NO LINES...BURN HER DOWN! Today we give NO QUARTER!”

It was certainly nice to be home...

Reid thought to point out to Sirena - or whatever her name was - that it didn't matter who the hell wrote the gossip column when she had "ran the paper". She had let those articles be written and printed by Najia. The fact that someone else had done the dirty work for her was a moot point. Things had been published, circulated and Sirena knew it; in his gray colored eyes, she was still no better than him. Reid tried to suppress himself from entering into another tirade by letting his tail sway slowly behind him in a manner that suggested irritation.

Instead of cursing up a storm that would make half the sailors on the ship pale, Reid let Mister McBulky Williams take him down to whatever sad excuse of a holding cell it was that he was going to be kept in. They made way to the lower decks, Williams mumbling something about always having to go off with the mental patients as if it was a frequent thing for Gabriel's crew to run off with insane people. Reid snorted a little and looked back towards Williams.

"Unfortunately for you, I am far from mental."

After disappearing down the stairs, Reid and Mister Williams passed through a room littered with rows of hammocks where the Editor of The Chronicle received quite a few hard good stares. To this, Reid narrowed his eyes and stared back at some of the sailors with threat should they try to do something to him.

"What are you all looking at?! Get back to work!" Reid shouted.

Some of them didn't know how to react and gazed blankly at Reid with open-mouthed stares. This was about the time that Mister Williams had hastily pushed him into another room and out of sight, which was probably best before he got into a cat fight. His prison on the ship was an empty store room with a hammock hung between two support beams and a crate that held a single lantern for light. Reid took in his setting as Williams gave him the grand tour. With a dismissive hand, Reid waved the man off ignoring his warnings that were probably nothing more than sailor ghost stories.

Once he was alone, Reid practically threw himself onto the hammock and uttered a sigh that could be perceived as general boredom. His gaze drifting to the door caught sight of blood that stained the bottom of it and beside the door, ragged grooves in the wood suggested someone had been clawing at it with their nails. Reid laughed and threw the back of his hand against his forehead.

"Oh please. Really? Does anyone around this ship know how to decorate a room properly?" Reid said clearly talking to himself. "How dramatic. Oh no! I'm so scared!"

Somewhere at the end of his little speech to himself, Reid was suddenly flung from his hammock by an unknown force. The ship began to shake and there was a terrible whirling noise coming from outside, as if the wind was trying to swallow them whole. For a brief few seconds, Reid wondered if they had made way right into the center of a hurricane, but his guess was dashed when as quickly as the violent shaking of the ship had come, it was gone.

Reid got to his feet and without thinking about Mister William's warning, left his cozy, little store room to climb the stairs back to the upper deck. When he got back on deck though, the entire crew was preparing for what looked like war and Captain Garbiel Wolfe was barking orders all over the place. To Reid though, the ocean despite whatever previous fury had disturbed it, looked otherwise calm. Reid opened his mouth to say something but stopped when he saw Sirena walking by, floating across the deck like some lifeless ghost. Reid lifted a brow at her, but she responded to his questioning gaze with a single statement.

"Welcome to Earth, Signore Feral."

"What the hell is an Urf?"
