As announced earlier this week Jezika Fehr will now act as High Priestess to all Aleris in service to our Ladies Calypso and Larisa. In her new role she has announced her intention to host an event in honor of the upcoming Harvest Festival, Samhain, better known as Halloween and the above quote is a direct reflection of her dedication to this event. The holiday has come quick on the heels of Ms. Fehr’s appointment to her new position but with the spirit that won her the coveted position she has risen to the occasion and plans for the Festival are already under way.
I had the good fortune to gain a bit of Ms. Fehr’s time this week and she informs me the Festival of the Dead will be a simple affair but with plenty of opportunity for a bit of fun. The holiday itself is a night traditionally used to honor the beloved dead and Ms. Fehr will not be breaking from tradition. The event will begin with a feast to honor the dead, all will have the chance to add small memorials of their own departed to the Samhain alter as well as any offerings one would like to make to the dead or the spirits that roam the earth on this night when the veil between the worlds are its thinnest.
Following the Feast of the Dead will be a masqued ball for those who prefer a more secular form of entertainment so break out your gowns and masks and come prepared for a ball, literally! "This is a once a year chance for everyone to be something they aren't, and to honor those who can no longer be with us. It's going to be a festive night, and one people aren't likely to forget." States Fehr and it seems she intends to make good on her claim.
Ms. Fehr is actively seeking those interested in serving the Gods so if any are interested in a more religious path she would like it known that you are welcome to seek her out at either of the Temples.
All are invited to celebrate this most magic of nights! The event will be held on the Eve of Samhain (OOC note: The event will actually be held on Nov 4th to account for real life obligations of those involved as well as the likihood that most people will be otherwise occupied on the 31st) and will start at Twilight. (6pm Pacific Standard Time, 7pm Mountain Time, 8pm Central Time, and 9pm Eastern Time).
This festival could not come at a better time for the strife torn city of Aleris and will hopefully act as a chance for all Alerian citizens, both old and new, to come together in celebration. Ms. Fehr hopes to see everyone there and you can guarantee….
I’ll be watching!
