He wasn't sure if his words would have the effect he hoped they would on the shifter, but he felt a bit better just having gotten them out. Now he only hoped that he hadn't angered her enough to kill him in his sleep.

Peace Returns To Aleris! Or Is This The Calm Before The Storm?

Many feared that the recent violent outbreaks reported throughout Aleris heralded a coming trend and the crime rate would continue to rise. The past week proved them wrong as an uneasy calm descended over the beleaguered Alerian citizens. Some have stated there was an incident at the palace recently and others reported sighting a dragon on the palace grounds but palace officials have not confirmed these reports and neither King Alerian nor Duke Roland have been available for comment. In fact, King Alerian and Duke Roland have been suspiciously absent throughout all of this.

Many hope that we have seen the worst of the crime wave brought on with the influx of newcomers but others fear this is just the beginning and the worst is yet to come. Hopefully with the Holiday season coming we will all have a little more kindness in our hearts towards our fellow man and the peace we have experienced will continue though only time, and the citizens of Aleris, will decide that.

In other news the Festival of All Hallows Eve, also known as the pagan holiday Samhain, is fast approaching and many in the city have begun to make preparations. Though not necessarily a native holiday to Aleris many are from other realms and have brought the traditions with them. There are reports of many pagans settling in Aleris so the holiday may take on more of a spiritual importance to many in the city. Some families have been rumored to be preparing grand festivities for the holidays but as of yet none of these reports have been confirmed and it is unknown if the tradition of Trick or Treating will be encouraged or even allowed in Aleris itself.

The Chronicle will report on any developments as the holiday approaches and of course will announce any planned festivities or public rituals open to the public. Until then…

I’ll be watching.
