A few miles east of the Sarheed camp, a lone tent nestled beside the Cladelle river consisting of three large chambers, suited to sleep ten comfortably, holds one inhabitant. Atisha Chanis is a noted healer to the local tribes of Heruin. The sixteen year old woman with black hair touching her shoulders, and violet eyes, has uncommon beauty, and a strange accent for the continent. Her tanned skin was covered by a light gray robe except for her face. Atisha had saved several lives in her month of time in Aleris some of which were so severe that a few superstitious folk thought her a demon worshiper. While the fools were correct the majority of her patients believed her a miracle worker truly blessed by the gods.

Atisha is of The Red Hand, spies that worked for the Darklord Gethe in the realm of Nirdor. They were sought by his most trusted priest for their attractiveness. Once within his grasp, the demon altered their minds in a severe way. Gethe removed the separation of pain and pleasure within them. This procedure had an interesting side effect on the altered humans. With skin contact they could control the pain or pleasure flow in their target. This made interrogation so much easier that the dark god decided to create more.

The woman was his most useful new servant because, she became very attached to Gethe from a young age, she actually sought him out. In the demon's dimension such tenacious fanaticism was often rewarded. He had trained her personally from the age of fourteen, she was truly an elite among The Red Hand. Her training involved advance healing techniques, and battle. She had no need of guards if she was inclined her opponent would die quickly. Atisha's fighting style involved advanced bare handed combat, made more potent by her dangerous manipulation of pain.

One night an ocean fisherman's eighteen year old son named Tristan, brought his fourteen year old sister Lisa, before her. The child was severely dehydrated from a wasting disease that would claim her life in a few hours. Atisha had to smile to herself, she could not have asked for a better situation. The man was so eager to save his sister that he thought little of the consequences of his actions. A circle was drawn using the man's blood to seal the pact he was making. When the woman's master appeared before her and Tristan, she knelt. Gethe looked like the last human shape he had taken, that of Madrin Kir's long dead father Gerthluo. "Well done my love, why have I been called to this realm."

"Master I have missed your touch." Atisha reached for the unholy circle only to be burned by the barrier preventing the demon from entering Aleris. "Sorry my lord I lost myself, this man begs you to heal his sister or else she will surely die." She kissed her injured hand after speaking.

"Ah, Tristan you shall have your wish. By our pact no action by my hand shall harm her or you. She will live out her days in peak health. However, you are now part of me boy, I will see you eventually." The last thing the terrified man saw was a smile on the dark lord's face as a black mist engulfed Gethe.

Tristan woke up the next morning in his home sleeping beside his sick sisters bed on the floor. "Tristan I feel great, I think Tempesturo has chosen to spare me, isn't it wonderful." The blue eyed girl smiled at her brother. He only hoped his sister was right about the lord of the sun. That dream he had last night was so vivid he questioned his own sanity.

Tristan asked after the healer set up by the Cladelle river while at sea, of some of his fellows. Most of them swore she was the most beautiful woman in Aleris and told him of their desire to bed her. Unfortunately anyone that tried to nab her was discouraged with politeness or extreme violence if they didn't get the hint. Atisha was incredible dangerous when roused to anger but, some men enjoyed the challenge. After a long day, a fresh haul of fish was brought into the small nameless village on the northern coast of Heruin, where Tristan and Lisa lived in a small mud brick house made of one large room. His sister went back to her normal job drying the catch brought in by the fisherman a few days after her miraculous recovery.

Tristan found it odd that he couldn't remember how Lisa was treated, beyond the disturbing dream that still remained clear in his mind. However, making pacts with demons was just a story wasn't it. He had heard such horror stories from his parents but, he stopped believing they were true after he grew up. He knew if such a sinister deal did take place, Tristan would make it for his sisters sake. She was all he had left, Tristan would gladly give up his life so that she could keep living.
----------

Atisha was more excited than she could remember since she last saw her beloved master. Her joy was directly related to finding a willing soul to give her master a physical form after someone dared destroy him instead of worshiping him. All the Alerians needed to learn their place as servants to the dark god. The man who made the deal was at least attractive enough to serve as a vessel for her demon lord. It was a shame that she had to give him that drug that made the details of his deal fuzzy. Atisha couldn't have the fool running around telling others of his contract, until her master safely took his body. She hated the fact that such a whimpering idiot like Tristan, was allowed to continue living while her beloved was forced to wait. She could end his life in a moment but, her lord insisted fate must take the human. She wondered if she might be able to convince someone to assassinate Tristan without revealing her intentions. The dark one would be very disappointed in her actions, if she was caught.

Atisha remembered why she sought The god of darkness in the first place. She was a street urchin that had been abused numerous times by her supposed protector. The damned fat fool had offered her a roof over her head and proper food. She had been on the street for six years and such an deal seemed like a divine gift from the dark lord. Atisha had no idea how wrong she was until the bastard attempted to rape her after a few weeks of safety. The man had a sharp knife that he used for protection. The fool tore her raggedy clothes off and held the blade to her throat promising death if she so much as screamed. Suddenly, rage filled her with power unlike any she had felt before. She grabbed his knife and stabbed him over and over again. Atisha was sobbing in a rapidly growing pool of blood when the priestess of darkness found her. There was so much crimson liquid covering her that Atisha almost appeared fully clothed. The priestess spoke in a calm tone to her. "Now, now child dry your tears based on your appearance, I'd say this weakling deserved his fate. Do you want the power to destroy bastards like this with little effort girl."

The woman's voice was so soothing that she felt a strong urge to accept her offer. "Yes mistress, I want more strength how can I get it."

The red cloaked women smiled at such a receptive young mind to the commandments of darkness. The girl had no idea how pleasurable the embrace of the demon lord was. "Why meet the god of darkness of course he will decide how best to use you." Atisha remembered her first meeting with the master well. He taught her so many things about life, and bestowed such affection on her that she would never be able to part from him again. She gave him everything she had to give and has never regretted it. She longed for his touch so much that Atisha was ready to do anything, no matter the consequences.

They came like a blight on the sands to a nameless village on the northern coast of Heruin. The people were simple fisherman not soldiers they were tough but, not proficient in war. It was a group of thirty jackal therianthropes. The slaughter started immediately without a word of warning in the late evening. Their black hides served as excellent camouflage within the darkness. The fisherman put up some resistance with their harpoons and knives. The creatures had no idea what kind of mistake they were making.

Tristan found the body of his little sister Lisa badly mauled after sticking his harpoon thru the head of her killer. He was normally a very calm man with no desire to kill anyone. However, these beast had slain his only sister. Her life is the only one he could never tolerate losing, she was all he had in the world now there was only emptiness left to him. A soothing voice spoke to him then within his mind. "Tristan you should realize what you must do now. Unleash me, I promise nothing will be left alive."

He remembered the deal he made, too bad his soul had already been forfeited. "Yes, I understand make sure they feel my suffering a hundred fold." The eighteen year old lonely man drew his fishing knife and placed it under his chin preparing to thrust it into his throat.

"Oh I will child, believe me they will know your pain." The strike was quick Tristan didn't suffer in the least. A pillar of darkness came from the moonless sky and embraced the corpse of Tristan as it lifted into the air. The body began to grow and sprout black bat wings and a barbed tail. His skin became like obsidian in texture and color. Sharp pointed gray horns exploded out of the once human skull that had become more bestial as time passed. In the end a fifty foot tall demon stood on the sands of the desert.

Gethe was not partial to announcing his presence in this way. However, it was an unfortunate side effect of entering a new body. If the sun was still up, the shell would've remained until the night came. The dark lord picked up the pack alpha with ease in his massive clawed hand and squeezed breaking the little eight foot creature's fragile bones. The jackal's blood was drained in an instant thru the claws clutching it, feeding the demon's new body. Howls of pure terror, both human and jackal filled the once silent night. The darkness came alive and devoured every ounce of blood from the living things in the nameless village. So much fear was like a drug to him, it was a pity he was finished so quickly.

He returned to his human skin and scrounged up some local clothing. He shielded any leakage of his power to prevent being detected. The demon set off several flares when he first returned to Aleris that anyone capable of it would sense. However, his aura was now buried so deep it would take intense scrutiny to realize he wasn't a weak human. Now he had plans to set into motion, laughter rang out in the lifeless town as Gethe left over a hundred bloodless corpses to rot behind him.
