To start, Grand City's houses and shops are being rebuilt, though most of them are still skeletal like frames of wood and stone. The castle is fortifying its defenses; the walls around it are being constructed as well as many of the watch towers. Verial Akilara is orchestrating the building of two new towers that will overlook the city. These will be taller watch towers than the others and they will serve as training grounds for soldiers and mages alike. In addition to this, Grand City's army has been part of a stricter training regime in case another assault befalls the city.
The city of Joi, located on Eiler's southern coast, is still covered in water. Though many have tried to clean up the city and aid was sent from Grand City's palace, most the town will remain submerged in water. The current plan is to not drain the water from Joi, but to build around it. Instead of stone streets, Joi is planning on turning its roads into canals and its residents will now travel through these waterway streets by small boats. Houses will be built on top of strong stone foundations capable of withstanding years of being submerged into water.
As Jade City was not affected much, there is no news to report about the city. It harbored little damage from the tidal waves and is only trying to clean up where necessary right now.
On Elved, Bariston is making good head-way with their construction efforts as well. Even without Lady Victoire present, its officials are making sure the industrial city is back up and running in no time. The Bariston army is tightening its defenses wherever possible. Shimmer Town, Garis Town and Vandual, all on Elved, are also working on ongoing clean-up efforts, though like Jade City, there was not much damage to be had on these smaller cities.
Heruin's native citizens are returning to the continent. Since the heat is once more manageable there, people are able to live amongst the deserts again. The numerous and strong sandstorms once plaguing the continent have died down as well.
Chaliceton on Arthuran is faring well in the construction efforts. The walls surrounding the town have been rebuilt and many of the sick and injured have been cured by healers that were sailed in from Grand City. It is said that Captain Madrin Kir brought a small fleet of people to help Arthuran when it was suffering. The city is happy to report it's back in business again thanks to the sudden an unexpected assistance from Grand City.
Protector Regent Verial Akilara announced that a new government plan for the entire realm is in the works. It will be unveiled possibly within the week. He hopes that with this new plan that each continent will have the structure it was previously lacking. The new government's goal is ultimately to help protect Aleris' cities better.
Besides the reconstruction efforts going on, sources say that small vials of glowing green liquid are being distributed throughout Aleris. The drug, known as "Soul Ease", temporarily suppresses any lingering pain a person might have. While this sounds positive at first, it leaves the person with a sense of euphoria that lasts for several hours or days. Officials from Eiler and Bariston do not condone the use of "Soul Ease". It appears the drug distracts a person by placing them in a sort of subconscious euphoria and then days later, dumps them back into reality. Officials have said that in such a ruined state that the realm is in, it is better not to mask your problems and pain, but rather confront them. To progress forward, we must not be held back.
A mysterious light flashed over the entire continent of Arthuran about three days ago. Many witnesses from around the realm said the light lit up the snow fields of Arthuran, the Oblivion Mountains and The Shadow Marshes. Researchers have been sent to investigate the source of this unexplained phenomenon, but since the source of its location is over The Shadow Marshes, it will take some time to unveil what happened.
