Everyday he woke up, dreading the next report. He'd hired the "best" detective to investigate and she'd come up with nothing. They'd changed the face of Aleris by closing the Outer Gates to prevent the killer from leaving and unfortunately they hadn't. There had been another death, but this time there had been a witness. You would think that that would open a few new doors in their investigation. But no.
And then just as they started, the killings stopped. No more reports. Nothing. Hell even the citizens were begin to act normal again. There was the saying not to look a gift horse in the mouth, however, this seemed more like a way to throw them off the track of the real killer.
Alerion looked across the desk at Adolfo, "I think we need to put this murder on the back burner. We've closed the Outer Gates, we'll keep them closed for now. We need to focus on Layla Victoire. According to our spies she's planning on expanding her territory. We have to stop her Adolfo, Aleris can't afford another war."
