It wasn’t exactly the family reunion people dream about but it was a necessary evil, all the upheaval and emotional pain and drama. It was what must be done to see the situation resolved and their daughter….dear gods their daughter…returned to her rightful place. His attention had been drawn to his daughter rolling about on the floor with her sister and his son welcoming the girl so it escaped him that the fragile tightrope Nimue walked with her sanity was about to snap and send them all plummeting. It was the screaming that drew him back, black eyes focused on the woman he had once called wife but it wasn’t her screaming that truly captured him. It was the shimmer of energy he could see surrounding her body as though the spell was forcing the memories physically back into her psyche. What the hell had been done to them?

The memories of the fey were difficult to tamper with at best and very often they were not susceptible to mind or memory altering magic. The spell usually warped when confronted with the tumultuous thoughts and memories possessed by the fey and backfired, as was obvious in this instance. Even before seeing the girl Nimue had begun to have visions of her, dreams that stubbornly circumvented the foreign magic and revealed what had been forcibly hidden. But who? Who had done this and why?

The screaming stopped and silently he moved to stand behind Nimue, his hands coming to rest gently on her shoulders as she haltingly tried to tell the girl she was loved and had been wanted followed shortly by promises of retribution. Unfortunately he had not had the same experience as Nimue. The sight of the girl had not broken any spell or released any hidden memories. That alone was an indication of the type of magic that had been used. In order for it to be as effective as it was on him, but react so badly to Nimue, meant that it was most likely a hellborn incantation and narrowed their search down by quite a bit. It didn’t matter though, whether or not the spell was broken yet, because he knew she was his. The second she had entered her scent, her energy, all of it had reached out to him…she was his. He could feel it in his bones, the demon within her called out to him, demanding to be recognized by her maker, her Father.

He had every intention of adding his sentiments to Nimue’s, reassuring the girl that she was wanted and this was never meant to happen, but before he could utter a single word the emotionally overwrought girl began to speak, pouring out the pain and hurt that anyone could see festering within her. It was her words that caused him to frown however, the comments alluding to a “devil woman”, someone who had held her captive. Those were the words he focused on at first, his attention going instantly towards the information he would need to seek out who had done this and destroy them. No one seemed capable of speaking as Sabina finished her tirade and threw the door open. A single step was taken forward, his intent to keep her from leaving until he saw that she had stopped just outside the door. Beneath his hands he could feel Nimue’s shoulders trembling and he knew she was sobbing though she didn’t make a sound.

Dark eyes turned to fix on Sadia and Kisa who had remained on the floor transfixed by what unfolded before them. “If the two of you can manage to get up off the floor come see to your Mother.” Leaning down he pressed a kiss to Nimue’s cheek, his soft whisper brushing against her ear. “I will go speak to her. We will get to the bottom of this, I promise you.”

Leaving Nimue to the attention of her daughters he eased around them and slowly followed Sabina from the family room, his footsteps silent on the cobblestone walk way as he eased up behind her. He stood silent for a long moment, giving her the chance to compose herself and become used to his presence. When she had calmed herself somewhat he spoke, his low voice soft and gentle as though trying to soothe a wild animal.

“I have no words that are going to make everything all better my dear, but believe me when I say that we did not even know you existed. Even now I have no memory of your birth or even that Nimue carried you though it seems her memories are returning.”

His voice fell quiet, taking the time to think through his words, to consider exactly what he said so as not to make the situation worse. Slowly he eased around her until he was standing in front of her instead of behind though he did not force her to look at him.

”I don’t remember anything…not yet. But I will. I will find a way to break whatever spell was used because I do so very much want to remember you. I can tell you though, that you are my daughter. I can feel it within you. You are mine. You are Nimue’s. That will never be in question ever again. No one will ever take you back or force you to leave us. This is your home, where you belong.”

So much of him wanted to reach out and enfold the girl in his arms, to hold her close and reassure her that he loved her even if he couldn’t remember her birth. None of that mattered. She was here now and she was his. That was all he needed to afford her the same care and love he gave his other children. Reaching out for her his right hand slowly eased towards her bowed head, fingers brushing gently down her hair in a loving gesture.

”Stay with us Sabina. We will get to the bottom of all of this, I promise you. But I must know my daughter…who did this too you? Who is the woman you spoke of? The devil woman?”

She had given plenty of indications that whoever she lived with until now had not made life pleasant for her and if this was not the woman who had taken her she would damn well lead him to the one who did and she’d die for the part she played in it.

She had known he was there before he spoke, it was something she could feel in her very bones. There was something about him, about Nimue that called to her. It was hard for Sabina to ignore, but she was so clouded with trust that she didn't know if it was real or just her imagination wishing it to be. Either way, she was there and it would be foolish for her to run before she knew for sure.

Bina really hadn't meant to explode like that. There was just so much in her that she couldn't explain why she was feeling the way she did. Embarassment washed oevr her at her behavior. Sabina was better behaved than that. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend.. It's just I don't know what is truth and what is lie with what people say to me." Hearing him speak caused her to flinch slightly and her eyes closed. Those tears still trailed down her cheeks freely. No one even remembered giving birth to her. The words stung, but she knew that Morlis didn't mean them the way that they sounded. It took Sabina a moment to look up at him. Sabina only knew half of what she was, and Desiree had never allowed her to branch out with it. In the literal sense, her body didn't know what was going on and the reaction that the demon within her had to Morlis caused a shudder to rattle her body. That had never happened before.

"She'll come for me, I have a feeling.. When she finds out I found you. She'll try and kill me." From everything she had managed to get from the demon who abducted her was that she wasn't above killing to make sure the truth didn't get out. Finally raising to her feet, she brushed the skirt off and looked up at him again.

All of her life, she just wanted to know that she was wanted. That there was someone out there that knew she was alive. She just wanted to feel loved. A life of rejection and solitude was no life, especially for one that had no idea what she was -- not fully at least. Reaching up, she wiped at her cheeks with her hands. When he touched her, she sighed softly and leaned into his touch. It was an automatic responce. Neither of these people remembered her, but she could feel the love from them. Maybe she wasn't insane, maybe this was the real thing.

Morlis asked her who had taken her, and she hated saying her name because she never knew if she would hear or not. It would look like she was hesitant to say it. The blanket was clutched to her chest, Desiree never knew she had it. She had kept it hidden once she found it. Sabina was scared, as she was quite often when it came to the succubus that took her. Fighting her inner fight or flight sensation, she stepped forward and her arms wrapped around Morlis' midsection and she laid her cheek to his chest. "She's horrible.." Sabina whispered. For some reason, she felt more secure when she touched him. Safe. Whether or not that was playing with her head, she figured that she would be safer close to him when she uttered the woman's name than standing on her own.

Sabina had calmed down quite a bit by this time. She still had questions -- many of them, but they couldn't answer them if they didn't remember her, now could they. She looked just like them, the evidence was all there, but again.. her mind had been so warped by lies, that it would take more than that to be fully convinced. That didn't stop her from her trying to make herself feel better.

"Desiree. She called herself Desiree." She said softly as she unclung herself from Morlis. "She told me that no one wanted me and I should be thankful she took me in." as shudder rolled down her spine in disgust. Sabina hated her.

During all of the chaos, where had Dori been? She'd been in bed sound asleep. The young woman had almost thought she was having some weird dream, but that wasn't possible, cause she'd been in someone else's dream, doing what Succubi did best. Interrupted by the chaos going on, she had pulled herself out of the dream and left the young man tormented and herself only about half satisfied. She was -so- gonna remedy that later! Family came first. The moment she'd heard Nimue's voice, she suspected that something -big- was going on. She hadn't seen the woman for some time, and she wasn't sure how long the Fey woman would be around, but when she showed up, all hell was breaking loose, or something was going on!

The Minx hadn't a clue as to what the hell was going on, but she'd heard the summons for everyone else, and screaming later while she hurried to get herself at least half way presentable. Snatching up a slip-on cotton blouse and a flowing gypsy skirt, she ran the brush through her hair really quick. Once her fiery curls were tamed somewhat, she hurried from her suite, down the hall, and then down the stairs to the parlor. With her curiosity getting the better of her, she'd walked as quick as she could. She'd heard the screaming as she was coming downstairs and had paused on the landing just Kisa tackled her sister and Sabina was spouting her heart-wrenching tale, which had her arching a brow. There was a deeply familiar pang within her soul and she lowered her gaze to the floor for a few moments.

Oh how familiar Sabina's emotions were to the Minx! She had felt the -exact- same way when she had been found several years ago. Her temper had been far worse, she was sure that she'd done her share of screaming and crying due to the anger and heartache she had known then. Vivid memories from several years prior briefly assaulted her and seeing the girl on the ground and eventually rising brought back those painful memories. The Amazon had grown up the first years of life never knowing love, being told a lot of the same things, never having anyone to care, save one old woman, the shamaness. Never had she been held captive, but she had grown up in a tribe where no one gave a damn about her. Shaking her head, it rose and her gaze settled on the girl. She longed to tell her that everything would be okay, but she also didn't want to further scare the girl or dump too much information on her.

Antonio was greeting the new girl, and Morlis was torn between the three sisters and finally put himself behind Nimue. After he'd spoken to Kisa and Sadia, she cleared her throat and spoke up as well. "What kinda party am I walking in on?" she inquired, having heard Antonio's comment. Oh yes...Aunt Dori was here! Why hadn't she come down sooner? She wasn't about to come down nude! Looking to Sabina as she embraced her brother, she felt the familial bond through the demonic blood and glanced to her brother.
"Another niece? I'd tell you to keep your pants on, but I know how impossible that is." Grinning, she finally stepped off the stairs and made her way further into the room to join the rest of the family. What a reunion indeed! She'd wait to either introduce herself or be introduced.

Looking to Nimue, she offered her a nod and a warm smile. Which is what everyone else got as well. The aroma of booze was fresh in the air and so she made her way to get her own glass of wine. Once it was acquired, she turned to observe in silence, her golden eyes flitting between Nimue, Morlis, and Sabina. So many times she wished her own mother would show a scrap of care for her, but she never did. She'd grown to hate the woman and the ground she walked, sat, or even pissed on. Same with her father. She was content right where she was, where she belonged. She hoped that Sabina would grow to feel the same in time and never a hatred like she did for her parents.

She had never known about any of this, so it was all a huge surprise to her as it was to everyone else. The family had grown again and she had yet another niece! How many more kids would Morlis pop out?! Were there anymore nieces and nephews out there? She had no idea. If there were, they'd be found eventually. If not, she was content with having as many as she did currently.

She also had no idea who the hell Desiree was, but she could tell from the look in Nimue's eyes, that all the fury of the Fey woman was about to be unleashed if she ever found the woman. Could she get front row tickets for that fight? If asked, she would do whatever she could to help. In the meantime, she had another niece that she could get to know.

"Welcome home."

Sadia had been ruthlessly batting at Kisa for the longest time it seemed, but as soon as Nimue started her screaming, Sadia had stopped, head suddenly and violently turned to the woman. Her mind was blank and it seemed her muscles were blank as well. What the hell was she supposed to do? Her ma was screaming bloody murder, Antonio was talking about a party or something, Kisa was still holding her down, and ol' Da was telling her and Kisa to go help their crazy mother.

Mouth slightly agape, Sadia shook her head and blinked a few times, seeing now that Morlis was behind Sabina, likely trying to comfort the crying girl. Somehow, Sadia felt sad. Upset, even, that her newly acquired sister was hurting so much. Sadia couldn't imagine a life like Sabina’s. How completely abandoned the girl must have felt all along. And how difficult it must be to feel so much love filling up all of those empty spaces she had been harboring for such a long time. Seventeen years. That was long enough to resent the people she was actually born to, with or without having met them.

It was amazing to the fey, that somehow... somehow, Sabina had held on to hope so tightly that she would be found, that she resented nothing. Not her real mother or father. She seemed to believe them when they said that they did not remember her birth and that some sort of spell must have been cast to throw their memory -- which was really fucked up in Sadia's opinion. Man, someone would pay when Ma found out what hooligan did THAT bit of shit. Stealing one last glance to Morlis and Sabina, Sadia wriggled out from under Kisa with a bit of oomph, and stood up.

Words were still lost on her, for the most part, and though she was far from thinking about it, her hair must have been quite comical looking. Those short blond strands were sticking up in a tizzy all over the place, and the eyeliner she wore was smeared a little on the left side. Ahh.. perfect. Crossing her arms over her chest, she twisted her mouth into a position that was obviously her "thinking" face. Perhaps she was thinking of something to say? Oh, but she was! "I've found that... things of this magnitude... are better solved after a good night's sleep."

And boy did she look proud of herself after that. Her facial expression was smug and slightly arrogant looking. Sadia was not unintelligent, but it would really seem that she was. Cutting her eyes to Aunt Dori, she didn’t really nod back to her at all. Instead, she looked over to Kisa and grinned, waiting for her to nod in agreement. What Sadia had just said was a monumental thing. She, herself, was quite tired, so it was only right that everyone else had to have been. "What do you lot say? I think we should sleep on it! Sleep! It's good for you, ya know. Keeps the wrinkles away." She looked over to Medora as she said that, smiling in a catlike fashion. "Though I doubt you'll need any sleep, Aunt DorDor. You're always chasin' men in yer sleep."

How was it... that Sadia seemed to not focus on the problem that was obviously at hand? Truth be told, Sadia didn't know how to handle any of what was happening, so she acted like it wasn't really that big of a deal. Nine times out of ten, she kicked herself later for even opening her mouth. She didn't know that that was exactly what she would be doing after a few seconds time. Would it be Kisa to send her to her knees, clasping the back of her head in pain? Probably. A swift slap to the back of the head was all she really needed.

One minute she was sitting on her older sister doing her best to hold her down so she couldn’t escape the family drama unfolding before them and the next her mother’s shrill screams were echoing around the room. Like almost everyone else she froze the moment the screams rent the air and she found herself staring at her mouth, eyes wide and mouth agape, as she continued to scream. Just as Morlis had she saw the shimmer of magic surround her mother and reacting she reached out with her magical awareness, afraid her mother was being attacked, but the energy that brushed up against her consciousness ~felt~ like her mother. Confusion setting in she barely noticed that Sadia was trying to stand up until she got dumped on the floor.

Offering a very cat like huff of annoyance she pulled herself to her feet and did as Morlis had asked of the sisters. Cat green eyes flicked towards Antonio, her anchor amidst the chaos, but he knew no more then she did so she silently continued to her mother’s side. What does one say to a woman who has been confronted by the daughter who was stolen from her, along with any memory of her? “There there” just didn’t seem to cut it.

She had just reached Nimue’s side when Sadia’s grand fix it for all of this was to sleep on it. Staring at her sister a long moment she finally shook her head and smirked slightly at the older girls solution.

”Oh Aye, Dia. Screaming and crying is always better in the bright light of the morning.”

She knew her sister was only trying to help so her lilting brogue held only a hint of teasing with no real censure to her tone. None of the Le Fey line was entirely stable so claiming to be the “sane” one of the group was not exactly a ringing endorsement on the feline’s behalf, but gods knew she was doing her very best. Mimicking Morlis’ action of earlier she reached out to her mother and let her hands rest upon the woman’s shoulders, fingers squeezing gently in an attempt to help calm her mother’s spirit though she knew such an task was futile.

”Do nay fret ye’self Ma, Lord Morlis will get to the bottom of this.”

As always when speaking to her mother, or when emotionally over come, she heard her voice slipping even deeper into the Scottish brogue that she alone among the family carried. It would do little good, she knew, as her mother’s form remained tense beneath her hands. Sighing gently her attention drifted towards Morlis and Sabina just outside the doors leading to the gardens, the mumbled sounds of their voices drifting into the family room to make the rest privy to their discussion. She heard Morlis doing his best to calm Sabina, to make her understand she was wanted here, but more importantly to find out who had done this. Just like Sadia, she knew that their mother would not rest until the person who had snatched their sibling had paid and paid dearly. Then she heard a name…Desiree…and her eyes widened in shock, her gaze snapping to rest on Antonio.

The only Desiree she knew was Antonio and Madalina’s mother.

Laughed hearing Sabina.
"Darling..I sleep well. I might do a little chasing, but I'm quite content. I can't ask for anything more. I'm happy, and that's all that matters." She wouldn't trade her life for anything!! She had known poverty and knew what it felt like to be unloved. Now she had a family, had people who loved her, whom she deeply cared about. She honestly wouldn't have it any other way now.

An amused smile curled the Minx's lips into a smile as she peered at Sadia, grinning. If only she knew! There was one man she didn't ever have to chase. As for the rest of the men in the world, they were fair game. She was only doing what a Succubus did best when she required the energy. Her thoughts turned from that subject to Nimue, who was being calmed by Morlis and Kisa both. She still felt quite out of the loop and was still trying to figure out what the hell was going on. She sensed that it was something emotionally painful. What would she be able to do help? That was the question on the young woman's mind mostly.

Having left the stairs, she moved over to Sadia and plucked a bit of fuzz from the girl's tresses and tossed it into the nearest waist bin on her way to collect her drink. After pouring herself a glass of her favorite wine, she stood just a few feet from the group, weight resting on her right leg. Watching Kisa trying to comfort her mother, she wished she might have been able to do the same with her own mother, but she felt that was impossible. Maybe more difficult than impossible, for many things weren't impossible. It was hard to forgive others, harder still to forgive oneself, but she had done nothing wrong. But how could anyone forgive someone who never cared about them?

She couldn't find it in her heart to forgive her parents. Would she ever be able too?

It was doubtful. One never knew what the future held.

"Kisa is right, we'll get to the bottom of this." she agreed, looking between one and all. "I'm a bit out of the loop, so if someone could tell me what's going on, I'd appreciate it." It didn't matter who told her, she just wanted to know what she'd missed so far. Golden eyes turned to Sabina and she offered a warm smile as she watched her brother with his new daughter, her new niece. "Morlis, bring her in. It's cold out there." Not like the cold affected certain members of the family. "Would you like something to drink? It will help to calm your nerves some I think." she offered.

Taking a sip of her own wine, she waited to see if Sabina wanted that drink or not; it appeared as if she could use one. A good meal, some answers to her many questions, a hot bath, and some sleep eventually were all in order for the young woman. Maybe not in that order, but if she stayed and didn't run away, she would find that she was indeed wanted, and she would have a home to call her own. Arrangements for a room and everything she would need would be made ready soon enough. There was no rush, she was fairly positive the girl would answers before ever thinking about sleeping. Or vice versa. She'd been through a hellish reunion herself when she'd been found. For now, taking things slowly seemed the best option to her; at least until a plan could be formulated.

He'd waited patiently for the girl to compose herself, giving her as much time as she needed considering it had been something of a traumatic evening for all of them. When she finally rose he could sense her desire to reach out to him, to them, the hope within her that his was the truth and she had found her family and a home to call her own. The French doors leading to the family room had remained open so he knew the others could hear them just as he could hear those left within.

His daughter Sadia trying to convince them all that a good nights rest was the best solution while Kisa offered her own brand of sweetly caustic sarcasm though thankfully she did attend to the overly distraught Nimue. His sister Medora made her appearance and throughout it all Antonio remained the rock, the silent stone that remained calm within the eye of the hurricane yet observed all. He would lead their family well some day, but today he would have to solve this little dilemma.

When Sabina finally came to him and wrapped her arms around his waist he was waiting for her, his own arms outstretched to accept her embrace, holding her comfortingly to him as he tried to assuage her fears concerning her abductor.

”No one is going to come for you Sabina. No one is going to try to kill you. And if they do, they will meet a very unpleasant end, I can promise you that.”

He was already planning grave torments for whoever had done this to his daughter, to his wife, his family. He just needed a name, one simple name, and then the hunt would begin. Of all the names she could have offered up the last one he expected to hear was that of “Desiree”. As she pulled back from him his arms went slack more from shock then any desire to release her. As the shock wore off and awareness set in that she had in fact indicated that his first wife and mother of his two eldest children was responsible for all this rage quickly took over. Onyx eyes flashed blazing blood red as his already olive toned skin became pitch black for the span of two or three seconds before his appearance returned to normal. Normal or not the fury was only barely contained within him and it radiated from every fiber of his being.

”Desiree did this to you, Sabina? I am going to destroy that whore and send her sorry carcass back to hell.”

The low growl quickly gained in volume and there was no doubt that everyone in the family room heard their low conversation, his son included. Through all of this he could not forget what this would do to Antonio and Madalina. This was their mother and she had not only abandoned them as children but had gone so far as to hurt their family by kidnapping their youngest sister. The family of demons was many things, many of them looked down upon by conventional society, but loyalty to family had never been in question. It didn’t matter whose mother she was, she was going to pay for this.

Placing his hands gently on Sabina’s shoulders he took a deep breath to calm himself. ”You must be tired my dear. I am going to show you to a suite of rooms that will belong to you always. You can clean up, rest, we’ll have food brought…whatever you need.” Leaning over his lips pressed to her forehead in an affectionate gesture and guiding her back into the family room he let his dark gaze pass over the inhabitants.

Though Kisa was still standing with her mother her shocked gaze was now focused on Antonio, no doubt from having heard Sabina name her kidnapper as her lover’s mother. Medora had joined the group and was doing her very best to ease the tension in the room. When she asked to know what was going on his eyes met hers and giving her a warm smile he shook his head slightly. Medora knew him very well and would know now was not a good time. ”I’ll explain it all later Dori, I promise you.”

Guiding Sabina through the crowd he led her upstairs to the east wing, opposite his own. There were several door ways lining this hallway and as he guided her to the one at the end he explained just who her neighbors would be.

”Antonio has the suite all the way at the end. He has two women living with him so he needs a little more space. One of those women is your sister, Kisa. Across the hall is Sadia and right next door is Madalina when she is in residence. You’ll meet her soon, no doubt.”

He was rambling but what does one say exactly when put in such a position? Opening the door to the suite he led her into the sitting room, the door way to the bedroom was to the right, the door to the bathing and dressing rooms to the left. The rooms were richly appointed, as were all the rooms in his villas, but it held no personal touch as no one had inhabited it.

”It is the same at all of my Villa’s, the lay out of the home and the room assignments. No matter what realm you venture too, here in Aleris, Earth, Eternelle Lune, or even the dying Mystra Amor, you will have a home and a space to call your own. Whatever you don’t like we will have redone to suite you.”

That was it, he was out of mundane things to say, and so turning to finally face her he let her see the anger and grief that warred within him mirrored in his eyes. ”I am so sorry this happened Sabina. Believe us when we say we had no way of knowing but we will make it right. You have my word.” Once again he approached her and embraced her, his arms tightening almost painfully around the young girl in his desire to ensure himself that she was real, that she was there.

Drawing back he smiled, doing his best to put her at ease and reassure her. ”Bathe, change, there are clothes in the closets that will do for now until we can take you shopping. If you are hungry you can dine in your room or with the family, whatever you are most comfortable with. When you’ve had a chance to just rest we’ll all sit down and have a nice long talk. You, me, and your mother.”

Turning he moved towards the door and opening the heavy wooden door he paused to offer one last lingering glance towards his surprise child.

”Welcome home Sabina Desiderio. Your new, better, life begins right now.”

Another smile and he was gone, the door closing softly behind him.
