She smirked then as she looked at Kyrian once more. Babysit indeed! She'd take the boy to Siren's Corner first chance she got! HA!

She was grateful to be out of Layla Victoire's meeting so quickly. It wasn't that she did not enjoy the presence of royalty, but Wish was growing exceedingly tired. She struggled to keep herself upright in her chair, Victor stealing worried glances at her every so often. When all was said and done, the Fae managed to push herself out of her chair, offer a bow to Layla Victoire and head promptly out of the room. A few feet down the hall with Victor by her side, Wish stopped and leaned against the wall, an arm crossed over her stomach for a moment. As her olive colored eyes were closed, she heard a voice that was not Victor's asking her about something and she looked up.

Weary eyelids forced themselves open and she came face to face with some one who had been in the council chambers. It was the warrior man from Chaliceton who was also present in the meeting with Layla Victoire. Wish didn't know him, but she recalled his name - Madrin Kir. He asked her if they could meet sometime in the infirmary soon, as he had to ask her about something. Wish opened her mouth to speak, but something else had caught Madrin's eyes and he was turning the corner quicker before Wish could even get her voice out.

"O...okay," Wish said with a sigh. The last place she wanted to be right now was the infirmary, but she knew there were hundreds of people to heal and tend to before the city could be properly rebuilt. Regardless of whether or not Layla said her and Victor were relieved of their soldierly duties, there was still so much to be done and so many people to be helped.

Lacing her fingers through Victor's, Wish pushed away from the wall finally and headed down the hall, but away from the direction of the infirmary. She would meet with Madrin later, but for now she desperately needed some air. As the pair stepped out into the courtyard, Wish turned her head to the sky seeing it was once more night and that the stars, despite the devastation still present around them, were twinkling brightly. This was exactly what she needed.

Wish moved through the castle courtyard to one of the small gardens. Once there, she dropped to her knees and then curled up on the grass. It might have been an unexpected thing for Victor as she dropped so suddenly, but she had not done it out of weariness. In truth, it appeared that she was getting ready for a much needed period of rest. Her arms folded beneath her head, creating a pillow somewhat, and she looked up at Victor.

"I just need to... sleep here," Wish said nodding softly. Victor might not have known, but being outside during the night was the best thing for her. When she needed to regain her strength - when she needed to feel revitalized - it was more than just having to eat or sleep. Wish drew her energy from the mere presence of the stars. So long as she was in the company of their silvery light and that they were looking down and watching her, Wish knew she would feel better soon.

Summary

Our story begins with the season of Spring, or the lack thereof. As the Alerians shifted out of winter and prepared for the coming rebirth of flora and fauna, they were surprised that they were instead struck with a strong heat wave. Spring seemed to have been completely skipped over. This was not just an early Summer, however. Even Arthuran began to melt completely of its layers of snow and the other continents began to dry out as if the land was on fire. The temperature also did not grant pardons to those who may enjoy the warmer weather. Creatures like demons and other magical beings that preferred the heat were also plagued by the unbearable heat. The Eternal Lake on Arthuran was cracking open, people were dying from heat exhaustion and tempers were flaring. All around, people questioned what was going on? Did the gods know? No answers were given.

While some went to investigate by visiting Tempesturo's Temple thinking it must have something to do with the God of Summer, heavy tropical storms ripped through the continents of Elved and Eiler. Wind, rain and lightning ravaged the land for days. At long last, there was a calm in the vicious storm, but this was only followed up by two tidal waves that blanketed the two continents. Many lives were taken in the storms. In the days to follow, Alerion and Layla Victoire gathered refugees and brought people to higher ground for more secure shelter. For days upon days, skilled mages worked to push the water back out to the ocean faster so that people might start to rebuild again.

As people waited patiently to go back to their homes in Elved and Eiler, it was said that there was no living soul left on Heruin. In fact, any bodies that were found appeared to be drained of their very life essence. Their bodies looked shriveled up and completely dried. Not a week later, this same theft of souls was seen in Galenous' Temple. No survivors were left and all their lives were taken in the same manner.

The once snowy continent of Arthuran was not faring any better. The Eternal Lake had broken open and from it emerged two monstrous beasts, legendary god-killers, called Val`nothe. The first one took to the land and made way to Chaliceton while the second one spread its large wing span and flew off towards Eiler. Nearly half of Chaliceton was destroyed in the attack and more of it would have been taken if Elysia did not drive it away. With the help of her sister Aurora and a warrior named Madrin Kir, the trio temporarily trapped the land Val`nothe back into the lake. As Madrin Kir was wounded, the two Goddesses took him and made way back to Grand City to meet with King Alerion.

Meanwhile, Galenous the God of Autumn began to battle the flying Val`nothe, to try and stop it from attacking Grand City. For some time, Galenous was successful, but in a missed attack, the Val`nothe was able to hit the God of Autumn out of the sky and down to the earth. Before the Val`nothe could finish off the Alerian god, it was stopped in its tracks by a woman named Terra Vale. This mysterious woman trapped Galenous in the same manner she had trapped Tempesturo, encasing both of them as gems in the hilt of her dual swords. The Val`nothe turned and headed back to wreak havoc on the city. At Galenous' resting place, Terra met with a man named Blend who was accompanied by the cannibalistic Aliscowri. The dual sword wielding woman took control of the Aliscowri and with them, marched onward to Grand City.

The Val`nothe attacked Grand City. Houses burned to the ground from fire, the castle was ruined and people were crushed beneath rubble that fell everywhere. The Grand City army fought as best as they could, some soldiers led by the directions of Deanna DiCorvino. The shadowy beast was nearly impossible to stop. Some people - Quinn and Maxim Redmont - took this as a challenge and tried to wrestle the Val`nothe into submission to no avail. Verial Akilara, in dragon form, took temporarily control of the Val`nothe, pinning it near Hinewai Harbor's edge. With a dragon's breath attack, Verial blasted the Val`nothe into the ocean. Once the Val`nothe emerged it was pinned back down again, but this time not just by Verial but by another sea dragon named Ternal. However, because the Val`nothe was much bigger than Verial and Ternal, Ternal was eventually killed in the attack.

During the Val`nothe attack as Terra made her way to Grand City, she summoned an army of the undead. By her side were not just the Aliscowri, but wraiths, zombies, skeletons and banshees that rose from their graves. All manner of undead flocked to Terra with the mere wave of her hands. This army advanced into Grand City tearing the entire town to shreds. Terra, with her excellent swordsman ship, weaved through the crowd of undead and fighting soldiers and citizens heading in the direction of the castle. Once she was inside the castle courtyard, she was stopped by the therianthrope, Deanna DiCorvino. Though Deanna fought with nearly paralleled strength, Terra killed Deanna. After this, Terra herself was eventually wounded and nearly stopped by Quinn and then Maxim Redmont. However, after making it past Maxim Redmont, Terra ran straight for King Alerion. In short a battle, the two killed each other. Grand City was now without a king and an enemy. As a result of Terra's death, the God of Summer and Autumn were both freed and the undead army went back to their resting places. The four deities, now together again, took the flying Val`nothe from the harbor and back to Arthuran where both Val`nothes were sealed away beneath the once more frozen Eternal Lake.

24 hours later, Layla Victoire, the leading lady of Bariston, made her way to Grand City to give the ruined town the support it needed. While she was there she made many changes; one of them being to offer Verial Akilara position of Protector Regent and Maxim Redmont position of Lord Commander of Bariston. Layla also offered Madrin Kir position of Captain of the Guard for Grand City which he declined due to having other affairs to handle. Under new care, the city can start to be rebuilt. The worst has past, or has it...?
