Welcome to FairWood Valley
In the winter the mountains to the South are heavily laden with snow. A small creek runs through the property of Fair`Wood Villa, but becomes iced over. In the spring the land is thriving with life and color rolls into color as the beauty of the land captivates the eyes. They who call this land home are deeply in love with it. A river runs opposite on the other side of the Villa but it is hidden well beyond the tree line. If one walked a quarter of an hour to the north one would find a grotto nearly hidden and a hot spring pool vanishing into its mouth. The forest to the west is old, and so are the mystical creatures that dwell therein. On any given day it may appear to be the same as any dense wooded area but by night it becomes a labyrinth of wonder, mystery, and perhaps peril to some depending on the nature of beings you encounter.
The Villa itself is home to the DeepSinger family. It is a large estate that contains many rooms to accommodate several families on two levels. Every room is furnished comfortably and most of them have private lavatories and hearths. There is a large stable that houses DeepSinger's team and a chapel that is mysteriously locked up tight and entering is prohibited. If one were to approach the Villa itself, one would be greeted by several barking herding dogs, and perhaps a couple stray goats. The land is blessed and fertile, making the DeepSinger family farm, orchards, and fields prosper well with the blessing of Life. There is always work to be done and fun to be had. Family and friends are always coming and going so there is never a dull moment!
The house always knows friend or foe and if you asked it, it would tell you so. But not in so many words...
Now one of the more important things that all should know, is to never approach the small cozy cottage that sits on the hill overlooking the Villa. You won't be able to miss it, as it is the very first thing one would see when straying from the main road to the horse carriage path leading into the foothills. Rumor has it a very unpleasant Cyclops dwells there alone, and is unwelcoming of visitors and ringing chapel bells! The Cyclops has ties with the mysterious circumstances revolving around the Chapel, and there are only a few people who know the truth. Perhaps in time the Chapel will be reopened and be restored for more holy purposes.

~The beginning~
The hell outta dodge
Quite a few years ago, Bansca and Sorvynia packed up everything they had along with their children and set out to escape the seeking eyes of a long kept mutual enemy. At the time Bansca had become divorced, and Sorvynia was living at Mystic's Pub with her grown children, trying to make a new life. Bansca and Sorvynia had been friends for several years and at the same time Sorvy had put herself into his service to help him care for his small children, as well walk the spiritual path as a follower of Vita in the shadow of he, her Priest.
Meeting Jen
The two decided that they would rent a large home, far away on an island where they wouldn't be found. At least for a while. A place they could settle their children for a while and have peace. Sorvynia met a man named Jen at an Inn, who at the time caught wind of Sorvynia inquiring about rental properties. He slapped a map down on the table and told her he'd be by in a month's time to collect the sum of such and such rent. But before he left he told them to make sure to stop by the cottage on the hill and get the key. It seemed like a fortunate streak of luck, and almost too good to be true. She thought it strange that the man was so eager to rent his property out to someone right off the road.
The cottage on the hill
But Bansca and Sorvy went with it, thinking they would make the best of whatever they would encounter. They were not obligated to move in after all. The land was everything Jen said it was and more, and the Villa was even more beautiful. On their way up the path, they stopped and looked at a curious cottage sitting on a hill. There was no smoke coming from the chimney, and there were no lights in the window. Odd. Jen told them someone lived there. Despite appearances the couple went to the door, and suddenly lights came on in the windows and smoke began piping from the chimney. It was almost as if the cottage was a living thing and it had been awakened. Bansca and Sorvynia had not been prepared for what took place next.
Neighbor from hell
A large lumbering cyclops came to the door and threw it open with a most disgruntled expression. After a long debate and the patience of the pair had been tested to their limit, the cyclops finally gave in and forked over the key just to shut them up. The cyclops, who to this day still goes nameless, was not happy about having neighbors. Especially holy rollers. With key finally in hand Bansca and Sorvynia turned away from the Cyclops as he was squawking about staying out of the Chapel. But they didn't listen.
Don't ring the damn bells!
Bansca had it made up in his mind that he was going to outright buy the Villa from Jen, and all the property surrounding which turned out to be a few thousand acre's. To Sorvynia's surprise he informed her that he had plenty of money, for he was not one to let his gold purse burn a hole in his pocket. All seemed well for a while, until the day they rang the chapel bell. For no sooner had the bell chimed twice, their cyclops neighbor was running down the road to meet them holding his head in his hands. After having a livid tantrum and demanding that they never ring the infernal chapel bells ever again he left, storming back to his strange cottage on the hill. Their neighbor had left yet another bad taste in their mouth, and they just stood and gawked at another as if in disbelief of what transpired.
They didn't listen
However, that wasn't the worst of it yet. They had indeed managed to find themselves inside the Chapel. Inside with a big nasty hungry demon, that had been purposefully bound there. Trapped. Needless to say, Bansca and Sorvynia had found themselves in quite a predicament. During the course of the demon versus holy rollers show down the two got pretty banged up, but the demon got it worse in the end. It all came out in the wash that the cyclops had bound the demon in there, and he was even more irate at the fact that the two had not listened. He tossed Bansca the enchanted lasso used to bind the demon in the first place and walked right back out with not so much as a finger lifted to help, still swearing at the fact.
Lax judgment
In the end the demon was bound and returned to hades where it would no longer be a threat or problem. Since that day Bansca and Sorvynia have not exchanged another word with their neighbor, and they tell everyone who comes to visit- not to ring the chapel bells. Upon their next visit with Jen, Bansca was to buy their Landlord off, and at the same time tell him off too. After questioning Jen about his knowledge of the demon, he confessed to purposely not telling the couple in the beginning, which was reckless endangerment on his behalf. Bansca decided to teach the man a lesson in causing pain to others, by slipping a strong laxative in Jen's drink. That night the couple went home to their Villa and named it, and Jen just went home and had the worst case of irritable bowels in his entire life.
