Born in Garis Town, Rahne is the daughter of an innkeeper and his wife, and has never left the 'safety' of Garis Town until recently. With no particular formal schooling, Rahne received whatever education she has from her parents, who taught her to read and write, and from listening to tales of travelers who have passed through her parents inn. Rahne was born and raised in the inn, living with her parents in a section of rooms reserved for them in a wing of the inn.

When not working for her parents as a barmaid, Rahne enjoyed spending her free moments with her friends, local farming children, or tucking a book under her arm and lounging about reading and daydreaming about a life outside the quaint town she knows. Rahne is fascinated with thoughts of travel and visiting other areas of Aleris, in particular Elier. Unfortunately for the naive girl, her wish was granted far too soon and for the wrong reasons.

Besides the perpetual state of turmoil in Elved, the recent attacks led by the vicious group of weres forced the hand of Rahne's parents to send their daughter away to the 'safety' of Eiler, hoping their daughter would escape possible capture from these weres. Despite the lack of 'street smarts' or family and friends in this strange continent, Rahne packed a small bag containing a few personal items of clothing, a few treasured books, and barely enough money to last a week for food and shelter.

Excited with the prospect of starting a new life in a big city, Rahne's family put her on the airship at Port Bariston and several hours later, the teenage girl arrived at Hinewai Harbor, bright eyed and ready to begin her new life in the Grand City.
