(Will be updating soon)
Isabella grew up far from the Redmont estate before the 'King of Kings' was ever actually crowned a King. She was a young girl, living in a Redmont outpost with her parents. But, even at that young age she was being trained to be a slayer. 'Games' in the Redmont family were not like the usual children's games; everything was a tool, a lesson to be learned, to prepare them for the dangers that awaited in their future.
When Isabella turned 13, her outpost had a plague of immortals rise up to try to defeat their chapter of the family. It was in this battle that her father was killed. Destroyed by the loss Isabella sought revenge, not resting until she ripped the coven that had destroyed her family. She still felt she was needed at the outpost, but something soon changed her mind.
Maxim had since been crowned Lord of the Redmonts and rumors had spread about Maxim's death at the hands of an immortal. Many of the family had said he had changed. He had been in love with the vampire. Isabella could not believe it but her family would not let her return to the mansion to investigate any further. She could only sit, wait, and wonder what had become of her cousin.
Finally, she received word. He was back and rebuilding. Everything that had happened had been at the hands of the Ravenholms. Many of the others were dead. Nearly all of them. Maxim was still alive though. She did not even have to think about it; she was gone. She packed up that minute and left the outpost headed back for the Estate. She knew the Ravenholms would not stop until they had defeated the reigning lord of the Redmont family and she would be there to protect her cousin.
It was only after months of her time spent back with Maxim and the hierarchy of the Redmont Family that the truth began to become clear to Maxim and Isabella. An elder Redmont, Mikayla (Sister of Eleanor), had been somewhat of a guide for Isabella during her time away from Northcross, and it was only now that Mikayla began to play out the true history of the Redmont lineage to both herself and Maxim.
It was not long before she had revealed that Maxim and Isabella were indeed twins. Isabella had been taken away immediately after their birth due to a prophecy that had struck fear in the hearts of the last generation.
'One shall destroy the Dynasty and bring forth the reign of the Brood. One shall reign in blood. One alone, will bring the terror of the darkest nightmares upon this land. One shall walk in darkness, the other in light.'
In sheer fright the Redmont Lord and Lady had sent Isabella away. Hiding her away as a distant cousin to the royal family where her and Maxim would not cross paths. Hoping against all odds they had sent the dark heart of the prophecy far enough away to avoid its fulfillment.
They had not made the wrong choice, they just had not understood the prophecy. Both would grow in strength, both would fulfill the prophecy in their own ways.
One in darkness, one in light.
