Aleris

So Anna and I were chatting about Global SL's and I came up with an idea I did about 2-3 years ago here that never gained any ground. I made a character named Plague who at first I just wanted to be the arch enemy of Soul an arraki killer of sorts. Then I restarted it about a year later with a demon/vampire killer included.

So here is the main storyline:

Soul arrives in Aleris, Plague who has taken up a residency and been dormant for centuries, awakens at the arrival of an arraki in the land. Plague vows to find him and kill him. He begins fighting Soul and cannot beat him in a fight, they are basically toe to toe. Plague then feeds souls into the demon construct Nemesis which uses the power of all the dead immortals to kill the demon Camaxlti and uses him as a weapon against Soul. Plague also infects, through water, the citizens of Aleris causing them to fill with anger and start attacking one another, but he can also control them. I havn't thought of any end right now but we can build that as the Storyline goes..

Characters:

Plague is a demon who believes that nothing deserves to live forever, beside himself and his god(unnamed). Plague fights for his god and kills all creatures that are deemed immortal, using mortals as cannon fodder. He has a special hatred for the arraki race.

Osiris Nepthys is a demon who is also the father of Plague, he and his daughter Maia fight to stop Plague from releasing the ancient construct Nemesis which they know is actually beyond the control of Plague. His is also the father to the undead who killed Darius Redmonts family.

Maia Nepthys is the demon sister of Plague and loyal to the end to her father. She is trying to stop Plague with her father.

Camaxlti is a demon general, loyal to the leadership of Osiris. He is an empty shell armor filled with a demon comprised of a smoke like substance. He is turned by Nemesis into another pawn and is used by the construct to cause havoc on the heros.

Nemesis is an ancient demon construct, thousands of years old that lies dormant until a powerful enough immortal soul is filled within. Fleshy tubes connect the parts and run with dark red fluid when a soul is flowing within. It is as strong as the soul placed into it, Plague revives it with the soul of Soul's father and brother giving it immense strength.

This was going to be a personal storyline before, but now I brought the idea up as a Global storyline for all to enjoy and Anna agreed it was a pretty cool idea.

I will play Plague and Soul obviously and probably Darius. But Osiris, Nemesis and Maia need players as I don't want to be playing 5-6 different characters.

The virus Plague unleashes affects immortals and mortals alike, the only difference is a strong willed immortal/mortal could fend it off or bend to its will and become a pawn for Plague. For example knowing two characters I know:

Maxim could say fight it off, Plague could be trying to tell him to kill Isabella but he would be able to stop himself.

Isabella on the other hand could play it that she succumbs to it and could be a spy in the heros circle or flat out evil and go against the heros.

It is completely up to the player how they'd want to be or if they wanted to get infected at all, though it'd be much more fun to be haha.

Plagues scheme would be to infect humans to cause them to go crazy and start killing and doing acts of violence to drive out Soul, which would in turn be noticed by other characters. This will stop in al'Sir in Heruin, Plague would spread quick though as he has the ability to teleport himself. This would lead to the main cities becoming under attack by half their citizens similar to a zombie outbreak.

Eventually Plague's godlike boss would show himself and it'd be a final fight against this new thing..

So if you guys like it cool, if not, eh whats the harm to posting it? Anna liked it and thought Plague, Nemesis and the unamed guy would be good realm-wide bad guys.

I always vote 'yes' to anything that promotes RP. I say go for it!

I'm actually all for this. Nice work, man.

I'm torn on this idea, frankly. I'm with Cerridwen in the sense that anything to promote RP is good. However, I also kinda feel like this is a very specifically targeted s/l, regardless of the infection potential to other players. And, anytime players may be controlled by another, It seems like the GM's should be the one to arrange that sort of thing.

It has potential but..I dunn. Just my opinion, of course. I'm quite certain I am the only one who will feel this way.
