Post subject: Aleris Jobs

Does anyone have any suggestions for Aleris' job system? Is there anything new you would like to see? I like this system and want to see more interest generated in it if possible!

For example, I was thinking about making a school type job with a headmaster and professors. Kids gotta learn somehow, right?!

A school definitely sounds great. I was also thinking maybe a physician of some sort? Maybe someone with healing experience could run some sort holistic healing center? Just tossing ideas out.

Thanks! I forgot about a doctor of sorts. I just know some of our healer characters would love giving prostate exams. Maybe it's just me...

When character rewards are posted up I see people getting paid for jobs.

I know we have a job forum thread as well as a job chart on the jobs page. I don't see these people on either of these lists. Is there a way we can get an updated jobs list on the forum thread? I know the chart is probably a pain to update, but just something I can reference when knowing who does what.

Like what is Maxim's job? Besides being the biggest badass. XD

Well, the website and forums has a job list and is pretty much up-to-date for Cornucopia Market jobs. For example, if you go to any shop thread here or on the job page here, I usually list the person's name.

It's a little more tricky to list things like soldier jobs and what not on these pages though because those really don't have a limit to the number of people that can apply and they don't have shop threads like the other jobs. The only people who have soldier related jobs are Victor Sage, Wish, Madrin Kir and Maxim (though I need to update his character sheet since he was just given his new job).

It's a good idea though and I can make a list in the future. But for now, if you're looking for who owns Cornucopia Market jobs, it is likely updated on the respective shop thread or on the website's job page.

Which armies are they a part of? I feel like these are things I should know IC without having to go to each of them and ask what they do. I thought it might be general knowledge type stuff.

Like which position in the army? I see they get paid differently, so do different soldier jobs get paid more? Which ones? There are a decent description for most jobs, just not the ones it seems most people in Aleris have.

The four you listed are four out of five. The fifth being the editor. I'm just curious as to what these jobs are exactly and I'm sure I am not the first or the last. I just figured instead of just me getting my answer I would offer a suggestion that might stop people from wondering in the future.

I know four of the players here have just recently started, we haven't read every storyline on the boards yet, so ...not to speak for them, but I am a little lost on this matter.

It is general knowledge.

It is written on their character sheets.

Victor Sage - Eiler Soldier for Grand City
Wish Star - Eiler Soldier for Grand City
Madrin Kir - Arthuran Soldier for Chaliceton
Maxim Redmont - Lord Commander for Bariston

Typically, "soldier" positions all earn the same starting gold. It is up to the person who plays if they want to earn more money or not by posting more as a soldier or whatever. Maxim's position is kind of unique because it was created as new for the storyline and it has to be added onto the website.

I'll put together some sort of all encompassing job list for folks this weekend, though.

Ah! See there we go. It's on their cahracter sheet. I didn't think to look there.

Did they all get these positions through SLs? Not that any of my characters would work as a soldier, a least not at this point in time, just curious how things work around here.

Defense and Religious positions should be approved through storylines. All those characters worked out their positions somehow through storylines. For soldiers, it's probably quick little storylines though, not much to them.

And here you go. Everything you could have ever wanted to know about other people's characters... I think!
