Post subject: Character Account Clean Up
Hi everyone,
Aleris is going to go through an account clean up on the forum. I've done this once in the past and it's about time for it to be done again. The first time I did this, I looked at accounts that had either 0 - 2 posts and sent out e-mails giving people two weeks to respond before the account was deleted. This time, I am going to be doing things a little bit different.
Accounts will be cleaned up and deleted based on the following criteria:
The way I did the clean up in the past was good and we got rid of about 31 inactive accounts that no one has ever asked about. However, during that process, we also had accounts people said they wanted to save, but have not used them since.
I would like a more thorough clean up this time and I believe this is the way to achieve that. We have 179 members registered, but I'm going to be honest and say we only actually have a handful of people. I'd like to see our list of members include those that are actually active.
How will this affect you if an account you have is deleted?
The above makes it easy for me to bring back any posts and details associated with an account should you choose to register a particular character again.
I am planning on doing this clean up this weekend, or whenever I can gather the account data that I need. I just wanted to give you all a heads up. After I do this clean up, I will post a list of character names/accounts that were removed. If you have any concerns about this, please address them here.

- The account has over two posts but has not been actively used for over a year.
- The account has 0 - 2 posts and has not been used for three months.

- If your character profile contains things like background information, stats, levels, gold, experience, etc... I will save all of that info in case you want to re-register. If your character sheet contains no information and has base stats at level 1, I am not going to save the profile information.
- If you have role-playing posts on an account that is going to be cleaned up, those posts will be transferred to a new account called "Archive" (or whatever I decide to name it). I will edit the top of the post to say something like Character_Your_Name so your posts will be easily searchable later. OOC posts will not be saved.
- I am not going to save any signatures or avatars that may be attached to the account.
The above makes it easy for me to bring back any posts and details associated with an account should you choose to register a particular character again.

You may have as many characters as you want. We would prefer, as you said, to make a separate account for each character. The only person who only really keeps a single account is eliskan. *points at AAron* But personally I always considered him more of a "storyteller" rather than one single character.
