As the saying goes, "All's fair in love and war." It seems like Lady Victoire has been taking this quote to heart. Rumor has it that as soon as she set foot onto Hinewai Harbor she had her sights set on three men: Verial Akilara, Maxim Redmont and Madrin Kir. After all, why else would she give them such high ranking positions? In light of her newfound crushes, her closest companions, Captain Ambrose Pennington and the lovely handmaiden Sahar, are jealous that Layla's attentions have shifted. Where once many of us thought Layla Victoire was out looking for land and conquest, here it turns out she's just a collector of hearts.
However, the love triangle deepens (as they usually do)! People have seen Maxim Redmont in the company of a mysterious "woman". Actually, no one has really seen her face or what she looks like, so rumor has it that Maxim's lovely lady is actually a lovely man. Is that why you've been lurking in the shadows so much, Mr. Redmont? We thought it was because you were a vampire, but this little tidbit of news might prove otherwise.
Verial Akilara, on the other hand, as one The Chronicle's former editors reported, is quite the prude. For example, previously employed as a bodyguard to The Siren's Corner, not once did Mr. Akilara use his employee discount. And it's also said that the woman he's been with recently has all but fled from the scene. Maybe she was tired of not getting any. Who knows?
And then there's Madrin Kir. Layla offered him the position of Captain of the Alerian guard, which he turned down. Some say it's because he's afraid of commitment, others say it's because he's not right in his mind. After all, he did try to ride the Val`nothe in Chaliceton like it was some sort of untamed stallion. Other people have said they've seen him go off on angry tangents and yell at people. Maybe in the reconstruction of Grand City we'll need to build an Asylum with a nice padded cell for Kir.
In any case, it looks like Layla Victoire has her work cut out for her if she really wants to swoon any of these three men.
Speaking of Redmonts, Quinn Redmont has recently lost the love of his life, former owner of The Oak Barrel Tavern, Deanna DiCorvino. Not to speak ill on the passing off Deanna DiCorvino, but her death sure did put a number on Quinn. The threat of the tidal waves was incredible and disastrous, but some are betting that with as much as Quinn has been crying over his mate, we're sure to get flooded again. The phrase "cry me a river" has never been so accurate. I mean, come on Quinn, you're a lycanthrope right? Aren't you supposed to be a little tougher than that?
Speaking of werewolves, many have seen what they think is a new breed of therianthrope running around Aleris. Rumor has it that he smells god awful, as if he hasn't taken a bath or wiped in years, has a brain the size of a pea and abnormal sized testicles. (I never thought I'd actually get to write that sentence.) More curious is that he's been traveling around with a pint sized little fairy. Some say she's even gotten him to wear a loin cloth to protect those bowling balls of his (good for her!) and that they've taken being friends. Others say this werewolf has become Aleris resident child molester and that she's been taken hostage.
The Aleris Reality office has been busy lately also. Rumor has it that sister to Maxim Redmont, Isabella Redmont, has been buying land left and right in Arthuran. Many have been guessing why she is buying so many parcels of land. Some say it's because she's going through both menopause and a mid-life crisis. Or maybe she's thinking of starting her own harem. If that's the case, Miss Isabella, I suggest you move your harem to a nicer island location rather than some dismal, dreary and dank place in the mountains.
That's all the dirt I have to dig up and share for now. Until next time folks...
That's the rumor.
