Rumor Has It…..
That civil war has come to Aleris! Well, sort of. Those cantankerous Redmonts are still at it, the lines firmly drawn between the Dynasty and the Brood lead by the feuding Mr. and Mrs. Redmont respectively. More and more Redmont cousins arrive by the day, some choosing to align themselves with Maxim, others with Daphne. Rumor has it that Maxim has holed himself up with his sister, Ashlynn, somewhere here in Aleris but the exact location is a carefully guarded secret. Well it’s no wonder, what with all the people wanting to kill him and all. The estranged lady Redmont has retreated through the Gates to the Outlands. Things seem quiet between the camps for now but rumor has it this is only the calm before the storm.
And just who might be the harbinger of this storm? I personally believe that title will go to the newly arrived succubus whose name I have only just discovered. Jass Strata appeared on the scene a few nights go and has made her intentions to the Redmont lord very clear. She wishes to stand and fight at his side; rumor has it she is even in love with the surly hunter. She’d have to be! She no sooner arrived to profess her loyalty and affection when he made it very clear he wanted nothing to do with the lust demon and rumor has it the confrontation even became physical, and not in the hot and sweaty way. How do I know all this you might ask?
The maids know everything.
If you happen to read my humble little article Miss Strata please take my advice and run while you still can! You don’t have to take the abuse! You can have a life without him!
That being said, I can’t help but wonder what Miss Strata’s plans in all this are. Sure they seem altruistic enough, but this certainly seems a perfect time to capitalize on the chaos and estrangement between Maxim and his wife to worm her way back into the hunter’s heart, or maybe just his bed. Will Maxim’s wedding vows hold firm? He does seem to have a preference for those of the succubi nature; perhaps Jass and Alidia can persuade him together?
In other gossip! Rumor has it there is a pair visiting from the Gats of Oneiro, the former King no less, invited here by our own King Alerian. They were given suites in the Palace and all was prepared for their arrival…several weeks ago! King Alerian was scheduled to meet with the visiting dignitaries but has instead left them languishing in their suites awaiting his arrival.
Come to think of it, no one has seen hide nor hair of our King or the Duke Roland Everness in quite sometime beyond Roland’s momentary fascination with Alidia Ryland.
Perhaps we should dangle the apparently irresistible succubus out as bait to lure our leaders out of hiding?
Now keep in mind, I don’t know if any of this is true or not but….
