Post subject: A debt repaid
Dravvin hadn't left Reino Del Hielo since his return. After the conversation with his son Lysander though, he realized he'd been putting a lot of things off. The Elemental owed several people for watching out for his family. The Redmont known as Maxim. Had it not been for him, his family wouldn't have gotten out of Mystra at all. He'd respected the Iceman enough to make sure his family got out alive and for that he was grateful.
First however, he needed to repay his debt to the Goddess of Winter. If not for her, he never would have been reunited with his family. She'd used her power to bring him back from the dead to restore order to the Kirk family. How well he'd done that so far was in question, but Dravvin felt he needed to get his personal "shit together" before he started on the family. They'd done very well without him for twenty years, a few more weeks wouldn't hurt them.
With that in mind, Dravvin Kirk set off for the northern regions towards Elysia's temple. The last time he'd been here he hadn't really paid much attention to the surrounding area. He'd been more focused on the fact that he was alive again and had another son. It was a lot to take in at once. Kirk stood facing the temple, and was amazed at the beauty of it. The mountains rising up on either side of it, and the snow falling softly, gave the entire area a white glow. Of course that was before he got closer. The closer he got, the harder the snow fell. It was as if he was being told that if he really wanted to see the Goddess of Death he would have to prove it.
Of course the ice elemental wasn't about to be put off by some snow, and he kept his pace. Any time it got hard to see, the elemental just waved his hand and a gust of wind blew the snow from his vision for a moment, just long enough to make sure he was still on the right path.
He didn't remember the trek from the temple being his difficult, but then it made sense that she would want to keep those not truly faithful away. The Kirk father had made his faith to the Goddess known it would appear, because before he knew it, the large door appeared before him. What stood before him was the most beautiful building he'd ever seen. It made all others pale with it's marble exterior. He could picture the temple being able to withstand a full frontal attack had someone the desire to mess with Death and Ice.
Opening the door Dravvin was amazed again. The vast entrance was everything he'd expect from the Goddess. Artistry like none he'd ever witnessed was shown within. He couldn't help himself, with a flick of his wrist, he sent small pieces of ice into the air, they hit the icicles hanging from the ceiling. The faithful that had been under them ran scared, but Dravvin just grinned as the pieces he sent up hit and made a ringing tone with each strike. None fell, but the music that filled the room made everyone pause in what they'd been doing.
"Sorry." He said looking to those around him. "I couldn't resist." turning to a rather pissed looking priest, Dravvin addressed him, "I'm here to pay my respects to the Goddess Elysia."
"Well you've a poor way of showing it!" the stuffy priest replied, "What if you'd killed one of us with that little trick of yours?" He shouted pointing up.
Raising his brows, Dravvin shrugged, "I apologize. I shouldn't have been so reckless. Sometimes I forget that some people are still afraid of death. I beg your forgiveness." with that he gave the man a bow. "May I please pay my respects?" he asked as he straightened up.
The priest hadn't been expecting an apology, and was taken aback. "Um. Uh. Of course. Please follow me." He lead the reckless man deeper into the temple and to the shrine. "Here. This is where we go to pay homage to our Lady Elysia. I'll leave you to make your tribute."
As he left Dravvin's eyes widened. Did the man just say "tribute"? Other then himself he hadn't brought anything to give to Elysia. Had he just made a huge insult to the Goddess? He never was very good at this. He could give himself over to a God, but as far as tributes and rituals went he had no idea what was called for.
"Figures..." he muttered.

It was no surprise that when Dravvin travelled further into the temple and stood before an otherwise quiet and empty shrine, that he was not indeed alone. Elysia watched Dravvin fret for a moment, searching in his pockets and around himself for something that would pay proper "tribute" to her. Amused, Elysia smirked to herself as irritation marked Dravvin's brow. Perhaps that was his "punishment" for sending her priests into a panic and huffy state earlier.
Nevertheless, Elysia could not let Dravvin linger too much longer. She was pleased that the Ice Man had found his way back through the blistering, frigid winds to her temple, but there was a lot the two of them had to discuss based on their previous agreements. Dravvin was not technically a follower of hers, but she had made certain bargains with him and his son to bring him back from the dead. Elysia did not know much of the plague that had claimed Dravvin in a land called Mystra Amor, but she was certain for Odin's sake he was better off alive... for now anyway.
However, things had changed.
"Dravvin Kirk," Elysia said stepping from the shadows of the room and standing beside him at the shrine. She was adorned in the lighter clothing she usually chose to wear with sandals that wrapped around her feet despite the cold weather outside. One usually would have noticed a change in the temperature in the air when standing next to Elysia, but for someone like Dravvin, he probably took no notice at all. "It seems to me that you have lost sight of your son. He travels far from you now, does he not?"
Part of their agreement when Dravvin had been resurrected was that he would keep a close watch over Odin. However, Elysia had felt Odin slipping successfully away from his father and she wondered if the troubled son had gone wayward again. Did his departure have anything to do with Ainsley Redmont - the witch she would not release from the collar? Hopefully, the realm of Aleris would not be threatened by Odin Kirk's actions a second time.
"Nevertheless," Elysia started, her voice noticeably changing to a tone that sounded interested, "I may have some news that you would like to hear."

"It seems to me that you have lost sight of your son. He travels far from you now, does he not?"
With that question Dravvin’s head sagged a bit. He had been careless and his son slipped out of the house the very night that he had gotten home. He hadn’t left a note or anything to say where he’d been going, however on his way north to the temple he’d heard rumors of the current head of the Redmonts running off with some thief. He could only hope that was his son.
“That he does my Lady.” He began, “However I’m hoping that the last fiasco has taught him a thing or two about trust, and the need to earn it before getting or giving it so freely.” He knew that Odin felt bad about what he’d done, but there really was no guarantee that he had learned that lesson. “I’m deeply sorry for that as well.” He could have made up an excuse but his experience with gods told him that they really weren’t interested.
At her next statement, the Ice Man couldn’t keep the surprise from his face. The Goddess of Winter and Death had news that he might find interesting? He’d come here to expunge his debt, and now it looked as though he was about to get farther into it instead. He expressed this concern verbally as well.
“I’ve always believed that true power came from knowledge, not strength or weapons, and am therefore very grateful for anything you deem worthy of telling me. I do however already owe you a debt, and would like to pay it off before accruing more. Though your wisdom far outstrips my own, I will of course take this information if it is what you wish.”

Unexpectedly, Elysia reached forward and placed her frigid-like fingertips beneath the Ice Man's chin, lifting his sagging head upwards. She smiled ever so slightly at Dravvin, letting him understand that she was not angry at his wayward son Odin. No, Dravvin was experiencing what every father must at some point in their life: an unruly and rebellious youth.
"No apologies are needed, Dravvin, however let us hope that your son does move with both feet forward on the right path," Elysia said.
Her hands dropped to her side, one of them now poised against her hip and she let her head nod ever so slightly at Dravvin. While Odin may have been off the radar, Dravvin would find out soon that he was not the only Kirk roaming about Aleris. And it was with Dravvin's acceptance for news that Elysia told him.
"For this information, you owe nothing," Elysia started, watching the interest in Dravvin's eyes as she spoke. "You have other children in Aleris besides Odin. If I am correct, I believe both of them are wandering about Grand City."

Dravvin never considered himself slow before, however dieing and coming back has that effect on you once in a while. When she said that two of them were in the Grand City he had to think. He knew Lysander had come over, and so had Odin, but if Odin was in the Grand City someone would have said something. There would have been something akin to a riot for what he'd done. So that left...
"Cerridwen?" His eyes flashed with excitement. He hadn't seen her since his return and from what Emily had told him she'd been missing from the Kirk household for a long time now. His heart began to beat faster and faster. He finally had a chance to bring her home with him. Bowing to Elysia he asked politely if not a bit rushed, "If I may, I'd like to go find her?"
He'd come here to reply his debt to the Goddess, however it looked as though that thought would have to be put on hold for a while. He was beginning to wonder if there was something playing him so that he'd have to continue going back to her temple. Of course that was ridiculous. Why would anyone want to keep him coming back here? It wouldn't serve anyone's purpose that he could think of.
It didn't matter now though, he needed to leave and as soon as The Goddess Elysia gave him his leave, he thanked her and turned, running out of the room. His daughter was close, and he had a chance to get to her. This brought on an extra burst of energy. He flung the doors to the temple opened, having ignored all of the looks of confusion, anger, and just plan laughter behind him. Once he was outside he immediately took to the air.
"Hold on Darlin', Daddy's coming." he said and pushed himself in the direction of the city.
