Post subject: To Live Once More
There was a time when Ainsley Redmont had created the Redmont Brood and shaped the philosophy of the clan to her liking. Ages after her death carried out by the Bluefields, the Dynasty had also came and went, a faction of the Redmonts she did not openly approve of. After all, it was humans that had betrayed her so long ago and humans that gave her the passion to bring the fearsome Brood to life. So in her current situation, having a mingle of both Brood and Dynasty roaming about the newly fashioned Redmont Headquarters, she was not entirely pleased. In fact, this mixed environment was just one other thing she had to tackle - one other thing that was about to tip the witch over the edge who was struggling desperately to hold on.
After she had miserably left Odin due to Elysia's objection of the removal of Lumine's collar, she did not head immediately home. Instead, she let her mind mull over techniques and battle formations that she had previously let dwell somewhere in the darkness of her mind. She had been comfortable with her black magic, but now that she did not have it on hand, she had to seek other methods of defending herself. Ainsley stopped off in Garis Town, about halfway between the Reino Del Hielo Gateway and the Outlands Gateway. There she bought herself a pair of ring shaped blades (Wind and fire wheels) that fit nicely into the palms of her scarred hands. From Garis Town to back home, she took care to run into as many foes as she could, dispatching her enemies as she went along, some proving quite easy to dismantle and others giving her a more than difficult time.
When she returned to the Outlands, she found much of her family had already started to rebuild now that Lumine Ravenholm had been defeated. A newly erected Redmont Estate was in the process of being built (whether to keep the name Northcross was still up in the air) and her return was not really noted yet. In fact, when questioning some of her family, she found that Daphne wasn't around, that Maxim had not returned and that there really was no one else lurking about that she could count on. When she realized her magic had been suffocated from her, she felt like something was missing, but now that a substantial part of her family was gone to the winds, she really noticed the pressure of an irritated, lonesome feeling, one which ultimately made her angry at everything that had happened, even going so far back as to reminisce and curse Elijah Bluefield.
The witch (if you could have called her that) was not pleased to say the least. Truthfully, Ainsley had been looking for a reason since she was resurrected to assume the Redmont throne once more as Queen, but she felt more disappointed than anything that Maxim himself had not returned. She gathered that Daphne probably left due to her patience wearing thin from waiting for her husband. Of course The Huntress heard word that Maxim helped fight for Aleris. Of course she heard word the he was travelling with Jass Strata. And of course, Ainsley knew that some amount of jealousy had probably set in once Daphne had figured out Maxim was still not returning. Ainsley wondered if the Lady Redmont had gone searching for Maxim. Bitterly Ainsley thought Daphne could not be counted on... at least not at this moment. If her family wished to avoid another take over, some one stronger had to assume the role of leader and after much deliberation, Ainsley concluded she was the only intelligent one to do it.
When she called them all for her announcement pulling most of them away from the mindless work of building the Estate, she was met with mixed reviews. Ainsley's patience had worn thin when someone had tried to object her. A man, strangely enough from the Brood, tried to oppose her lead as Redmont Queen. He said something, while pointing to the silver collar around her neck, that she was incompetent without her magic and utterly useless. Ainsley was half listening. She was to concerned with thinking of which way she should cut his throat open which she did shortly afterwards with her Ring Blades, not giving the man a chance to finish his spiel.
"If anyone else wishes to oppose me, I will not hesitate to dispatch you just as quickly," Ainsley spoke with a voice that was almost blank as she stood with her boots in the man's crimson blood. "I do not care if you are Brood or Dynasty, you will listen to me unless you would rather like to see our family fall into shambles. Maxim is gone. Daphne is gone. And if any of you think you have the right to test my motives, my actions or my state of being... I will assume you also want to end up in a puddle of your own blood."
No one else seemed to question her from there on out. Some went back to helping rebuild the Estate, others went to her right away from assignments. Food needed to be gathered, as well as clothing, armor and weapons... everything. The Redmont Family needed the essentials to live again and to thrive as they once had. Ainsley Redmont was no longer going to sit by and idly watch them suffer in silence. Too many had been lost already... one by her own hand just to prove a point. She hated to have to kill those of her own blood, but she was not going to tolerate petty and childish opposition. And most importantly, she was not going to let anyone question her worth without her magic. If anything else, she had a strong determination to continue going no matter what and to figure out how to get rid of the bind around her neck, which consequently would lead her into many sleepless nights.
